So do we all but we live in Thailand, some of us in remote villages.

I was just pointing out that Bud is now available at a decent price.

I drunk some last night and it is far superior to Archa, Leo, Chang, Singha, Cheers etc. Which doesn't say much about Thai beers.

    Especially Leo.

I lived 5 mins from Michigan across the St Clair river in Ontario. And I am well aware of the domestic US beer and would always head to a store that sold a good craft beer. Not that water down beer that you like. Not that I.really care for Thai beer at all but that is the choice we have here.

BTW the US boys would come over to drink Canadian beer.

I was at a car showroom the other day looking at a new hybrid. I compared the price for the hybrid vs price for a standard model, then using the difference in "liters per 100km" shown on the window sticker, I calculated the payback time for 20,000km per year motoring. 8 long years to pay back. My conclusion was that it was not worth it....also adding in the fact that it is more complex mechanically and therefore will have higher serving costs and likely more breakdowns.

Electric vehicles are also a con. In a Tesla, the rechargeable batteries are reported to last 7 years, replacement cost is about $12000, and what will we do with all those dead toxic batteries? I can see a recycling or disposal fee being added for each replacement.

I also saw an analysis indicating that the environmental costs of EVs is much higher than advertised, if you look at the total picture. There is more energy required to manufacture an EV than a standard vehicle. The energy to manufacture and drive has to come from somewhere....and yes it comes from burning fossil fuels to produce electrify, which is an inherently much less efficient process by two or three fold vs refining crude into petrol or diesel and using that. The other state benefit of EVs having no emissions is dubious as there are lots of emissions from the power stations needed to generate the electricity to run the EV....not to mention the costs and environmental damage caused by filling the nation with charging stations.

BTW we have a charging station near us....I have yet to see a car using it.

Batteries only last 7 years..man that's a lot of driving to hit one million miles in that time. Yes one million miles some longer than that.

  3. Wife's sister was with her boyfriend and got pulled over and was given  a breath analyzer test. He was over the limit and was given a 10 thousand bt ticket and told to go to police station the next day and pay the fine. Now I have no problem with the crack down  on drinking and driving. I think is long overdue here. But the kicker is after he was given the ticket he was allowed drive away.

Now that is stinken thinking  on the police.

I cant see why there isnt some sort of standard universal battery pack/module, and you swap a flat one for a charged one at a service station, the same as gas bottles etc. Everyones electric car design incorporates a removable battery module, when its almost flat pull in to a station and get a full one, the old one goes on charge for use in another car. No need for charge stations etc, run flat away from a station and they deliver one.

Those batteries are in the frame area of the car. They are a huge sealed pack and heavy

Not a easy job to remove them. There are break through all the time with faster charging and driving distance. We are still in infancy phase.of EV.

energy density of  batteries is crap compared to petrol/gas/benzene

Find a Petro car to race a EV car at a drag strip and see who wins. There isnt one mass produced Petro car that would beat a EV car and very few exotic cars either. And I am not talking about the Bolt or Leaf EV cars but the Tesla. Well under 2 sec for 0 to 60 miles per hour.

A tip to LazySlipper. Norway is the leading country when it comes to sale of electric vehicles ( both pure electric and hybrid. The sale of these cars are now more than 50% of the total sale. I can tell LazySlipper that the temperature is far below -10 degrees celsius in winter, and the EV cars work well.

    Carerra

These EV cars have recirculating system that keeps the batteries warm in the winter and cool.in the summer.

  7. I was using a Samsung S4 since 2013. I am not a guy to buy the latest a greatest every year. So this  year I took the leap to S9 plus. Man what difference, fast and super silky in all areas. I thought I would have to go to play store and download all the apps I had before. But no it downloaded all my apps, contacts, and my photos from my old phone without me doing anything. Has G5 too and latest android software. I did buy it on Lazada as it was 7 to 8 thousand BT cheaper than any store here.

Does he have time for scientific research? I mean when he's not tweeting, and playing golf?

Little progress has been made, and according to satellite images and reports, North Korea has actually ramped up their nuclear production.

There is no need to waste nuclear material or rocket fuel on further tests as they've already proven they can deliver a nuclear warhead via a supersonic missile.

So claiming "success" by saying there have been "no tests" seems quite juvenile and premature?

Hard to believe he'll have another summit but he needs a distraction and needs to appear to be acting "presidential".

Nearly kicking off WW3 with a tweet is not the only example of what a doofus the president is...

Woodward: Trump drafted tweet on pulling military dependents from S. Korea

SEOUL, South Korea — President Donald Trump drafted a tweet calling for the evacuation of family members of U.S. troops stationed in South Korea, nearly provoking a war with the North, the author of a new book about the administration said.

Woodward lies. The book is just a other smear campaign on Trump. Expect more of these as the November elections get closer.
