This is interesting, as I just changed from an extension based on retirement to an extension based on marriage, so the 2nd extension based on marriage will be due end January.
Since I got the extension based on marriage and them coming out to take a photo with us in it and the house in the background, I have obtained the Tabien Bann (yellow book), yes went jumped through all of the hoola-hoops, and also got pink ID, just wondering if that has any weight, the immigration office in Sakon Nahkon is relatively small and the guys there are familiar with us.
If the Tabien Bann doesn't have any weight and I require a witness, will take the neighbour as she is good value for the 200 baht plus lunch that we give her for the 3 hour round trip.
Its just come to mind that I am going there early August to do my 90 day reporting, so will ask the question then and update the reply to this post for any others who go to Sakon Nakhon, that is unless someone who goes there is reading this and can answer the question for me.
Good I always ask questions with the IO when I do my 90 day. Things change here a.lot. don't want to waste time having to do a second visit.

I just finished my marriage extention switching from retirement and our landlady we rent from came. I asked IO if I needed to do that next year and they said no only first time. This was in Maptaput.
I did get a visit a couple weeks later. No problems.

Yes two IO came two our house a few weeks after I applied for the marriage extention. They phoned first. Took pictures and filled out more paper. Wanted know how much I had in savings back home and what my father and mother names were. They are both long gone. How long I have known my wife. That was about it. Still I was amazed at all the writing he was doing especially after all the paperwork I did when I applied. But they were pleasant.

I don't give the people that come into a restaurant with sign saying they are deaf. I don't know they are. I have prompt in my spirit that tells someone is in need and when I ignored it I know it is wrong so I will go back to look for that person.
-
I give to the ones I see in need like blind fellow at the market that has one them music boxes and sings. I don't care what they do with the money like buy booze etc. It's up to them. I gave from my heart and that's what is important.
It will come back to me some day someway.

If you want to mine bitcoins you better have a super computer or computers running.24 7. All the big players are way head of the curve. As for illegal I don't know but who would know if you did it or not.

I don't understand people not keeping track of the days to report to IO. There are apps that will count down the days for you. And have no money...well maybe you go back home to earn a few bucks. Not trying to be harsh here just use some common sense.

I use SCB. When first came here to work a relocation company set it up for us expats. Thinking back on it I was glad they got that done with out any hassles on my part. No problems with SCB at all.

If she use FB get one with enough memory like 3 or 4 gb. FB is a memory hog. And get one with a decent battery and enough storage for all selfies and food pictures they like to take.
Samsung would be my go to phone and the new S8 is water proof to certain degree. Yes a little expensive but it will pay off in the long run when she goes to Songkran and it gets wet.?

Well why not change your approach!? Drop the shag price, drop the bar fine, drop the beer price and the farangs will simply flood in.
They won't do that. They do the opposite and raise prices which makes no sense at all.

To say that this will ruin Pattaya is an over exaggeration.
All the older Americans will remember that Vegas used to be called sin city.
It had the moniker of an adult only location that had drinking, gambling and prostitution. Pattaya does not have the legal gambling but it has everything else.
Toronto had the Yonge street strip with it's hookers and strip clubs that caused many people to stay away. They cleaned it up and big businesses came and it is a big tourist location and generates more money
The challenge is that while a few bars might get a lot of money it is more favourable to have a family oriented location.
There is nothing wrong with having walking street and maybe a few little streets off the side.
What is a problem is that because of the reputation that families that have more money to spend and have kids that generate more income will stay away.
They can still have the sex and such all they are trying to do is make it more central and less obvious and less distracting.
A bar is a drinking establishment that too many farang go to get plastered and make nuisance. The law is already set all they are doing is enforcing it.
Vegas is still called sin city.

Do these so called righteous leaders ever watch thai music videos? I hope not. Some of the vids have very good dance moves. And are quite entertaining.

What do them mean by sex shows...some girl showing her boobs ...big deal. Nothing no body has seen before. Find better things to do like traffic infractions.

Man that could be a good business to startup. Get a contract and repair CCTV cameras. Never out of work. Check them out ..clean the lenses....replace broken units. Never ending job etc.

The birds here go crazy if they see a snake. Good watch dogs.

What do they do with the husks? Are they compost? A lot of bio waste that could be turned into some type of fuel.

The problem is not being vegan or not. The problem us being AWARE that eating living creatures implies suffering/death. If every carnivore would be fully aware that his steak was a great living creature 2 days before im cool with people eating other living souls.
Give me a break!

I don't mind the smell or durian. It smells a bit like ethalene from petrochemical plants I worked in.

The US was getting ripped off supplying huge amounts of money. For what? Did anything get better with climate change before. Not one iota. Why throw money away that doesn’t change anything. All countries need to clean up their own backyard before looking for handouts.

He is pretty slippery. Maybe they could make a movie...Catch Me if you Can...
Oh wait someone already used that title for a movie.?

I really don't know what to get him. Maybe a bottle of wine or a gift voucher for a restraunt. But best gift to yourself is learning to swim so that doesn't happen again. Simple treading water is easy enough to master at one go.

The dwarf is just trying to boaster his image to the world. This is going to lead him to utter defeat if he tries some stupid stunt on the US. Hé won't know what hit him. Problem is innocent people will die because of his blind foolishness.

They were talking about this 10 years ago when I worked there. Had one really zealot person I worked with. My son hatd to learn how go speak Catalina as well as Spanish in school. I got him out of that class as no one speaks that language anywhere else. It's the same as Quebec wanting to seaperate from Canada. Of course that vote failed.

They should have safety check stations.
Did this in my home county years ago. And if you sell the vehicle you need a safety check before a new plate is issued. That got a lot of old clunkers off the road. That car in the picture blowing smoke would be yanked off the road quickly.
Retirement v Marriage Extension ?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I switched to married from retirement. I think it offers you more security as you have a Thai wife and I have a child also.
If things go south here I think you will better off with marriage extention than a retirement extention due to the fact you have a family. More paper work yes but not that hard.
