I keep reading that one of the big problems ( aside from no real vaccine plan) is they don't know how many cases there are here because of the lack of testing. Per million population, Thailand is doing less that 8% of total test compared to the US. But look at China, they are testing even less than Thailand. Even if you could believe the numbers China reports, they  have to be boooogus if they aren't testing.

Socialized medicine, sorry - I was in the hospital 3 times in the States 2 elective one not, none cv-19 related and no untested patient or staff was within a floor of me.

I am going to back track or flip flop since I am in Thailand.  I am going to say my assuming  was wrong since past proformance does not predict the future. I do not even know if you are a retiree, but for the "Cheers'" I can only predict.. well I will not go there. I have just not met 10 farangs with as much net worth as me and that is where I am coming from.  So no offence and there is no jealousy. And if you a number for the PM or King that can be reached while overseas I will contact them directly next time. As the Thai Embassies were almost impossible to reach.

Well look at the big picture if all the "stranded / accidental " tourists were gone the economy would need those holding  a legit, long term visas to get help getting back.

The point is there was not extension or any help for those with a valid visa trapped outside Thailand when this happened . They just let our visa expire and we had to start from scratch even though we were just on long time, well planned vacation and not running from any virus panic. Plus we had a home, cars, and all that required money in the bank.

Retirees are not the only real contributors. Many like myself, are not of retirement age, yet we are married and have a Thai wife and kids whom we support through our income from working.
Building a house, buying a car etc. contributes to the economy and to the livelihoods of THAI people. Just because you've reached the point where you're old enough to retire and have decided to make your home here, doesn't make you special.

My apologies to those like you, who are not what I am talking about ... unless you claim to be "stranded" or have a 2nd family back home. ????
