Even with a vaccine passport, families cannot come as the vaccine is not being given to the children.

They are farang who have lived in Thailand for a number of years but were trapped outside the country in early 2020. It is only recently that they were permitted to return to their family here. They add little to the tourist economy.
This is true, as I and my farang wife fit this description. What is really worse is only 2 plane landed ( 1/2 full or less ) when we came in late Nov. and if 10 full planes had landed we'd have been there for hours and hours the way the current process for screening arrivals works. They will never be able to handle mass amounts of people under the current system. I know a lot of you expats only want to live here and not travel outside Thailand. One of the reasons I retired here was to have easy access to other interesting countries. But if I cannot get back home (in Thailand ) with out meeting the COE requirements and I have a 15 day quarantine, then the appeal of living here drops way down.

Problem there is whilst at the test there was no issue, whats done to the vehicle afterwards is the question and has no connection to the testing area. A test is only good for that moment.
Its the people selling the necessary enhancing/performance items are at the source, that where they should start.
BS, plenty of old vehicles with no enhancing/performance items that belch black smoke.

i dont think anyone understands your point, the flights coming into Thai are repatriation flights for Thais, IE to get them home. Anyone else lucky enough to get on the flight has to meet requirments.
You have got me there, but I did not think every flight coming into Thailand was a repatriation flight?

Different rules for foreigners and Thais, it is their country after all.
That isn't the point, yes their country - just be transparent , tell the truth and not have potentially sick people flying with those who are not.

At the bottom of this link the CCSA guy says everyone entering Thailand must be CV-19 free. ( start at 3min. 12 secs)
Then he say to get a COE you must be Covid free, BUT do Thai's need a COE or will they continue to fly back to Thailand and ill?
Here is the link , go to the video at the bottom.
My bad, I should have asked if a Thai had the same requirements for a COE , i.e. an negative covid test. Not so in the recent past and the CCSA guy muddied the waters saying it was a COE requirement when the requirements to my understanding were NOT the same.

New York flat fare on it's subways is $2.75 (about 90 Baht) in one of the most expensive cities in the world. A flat fare of say 30 Baht on BTS and MRT in Bangkok would seem fair for here.
Can I meet with you to exchange a quick $1000.00 right away?

Thailand roughly tested 2% of population, compare to 50% for Australia. these infections numbers are as good as government math skills
1st off your math skills are as goo as the Thai gov't's. If you think Australia's 12+million test represent 12+million different people being tested then you may be in line for a Thai Gov't job. You don't think there have been multiple tests on the same people. I have had 7 tests done on me for various reasons. Your 2% number and your50% number do tell a story about anecdotally how many tests or being done as compared to the overall population. BTW some noted a few days ago that the number of tests reported on the worldometer page for Thailand has not changed in a few days, I noted the # on Wed. and for sure it has not changed.

The gov't can solve the Thai end of the burning by providing shared farm equipment that would take the place of burning and plow old crops ( like mulch ) back into the soil or harvest crop stubs for animal feed stock.

It is a problem that is for sure, but China's coal plants and Burma's burning are 90% of the problem

Talk about social services and BS stats. Google " the happiest countries in the world" then Google the suicide rates for the 2 happiest countries Finland and Denmark. They are more than double this little dysfunctional country suicide rate. Go figure!

The only people who would travel half way across the world during a global pandemic are those who got trapped outside when the Thai Gov't locked people out who actually live here. They extended visas for those stuck in country, but as mine expired while locked out, I had to get a whole new visa to return home.

"19 were imported from people entering quarantine."
Where are they coming from and are they Thais who are not doing the 72 hour test and infecting other on their flight?

So if you don't own a smartphone you are now a criminal in Thailand???
There is no excuse not to own one these days. They can be had for as little as 1-2k thb
If people can not afford that, then they can't afford to be here in ThailandWhat people can and want to afford is none of your business. I will refrain from calling you what the rest of us think you are.

Any idea why phone shops should remail open as not necessary ?
I was stuck in the country of Georgia back in March/April and the F'ing cell phoe stores closed. I was in a real pickle . With out Skype I would not have been able to get out and back here.

The only countries who are vaccinating currently rushed into it out of need. So we don’t really want them here do we.
You maybe the idiot, the countries vaccinating now had a plan way before today's terrible numbers. Try not to be so full of yourself and see the facts. Like we here in Thailand have been covering up the # of deaths and the # of cases by not testing. And what??? Thais who are vaccinated do not need to quarantine? Great idea, just like the ones coning back do not need the 72 hour test to board a flight. Who do you think is spreading the virus on these arriving flights? The covid free foreigners?

I would like them to start gearing up for regulations for entry if you have been given the vaccine. As we all know it has taken , what 9 months? , to get to this point for letting "tourists" in the country. One failed scheme after another. And they still have not figured it out. So the sooner they get working on how to handle those with a vaccine the sooner they "might" figure that one out.

I sure don't, I have a Thai spouse and can come to Thailand whenever I want.
Just try to, you must have money and time to burn, getting a coe and timing your cv-19 test and doctor's visit and prepaid air and air is a hoot. And still not 100 % safe traveling, see all the imported cases.

We need the 14 day quarantine for a while, I did it and it sh*ts. Even in a 4* hotel. But not until land boards are secured will mass tourism return. The overly cautious airport security is a paper tiger. With what seems to be an in controlled situation in the north I am told " do not go north" . Same same as Rayong a while back. over reaction. Thai paranoia.

Please ask someone who actually has this visa and is trying to entire Thailand how long it takes for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to approve your COE. And if you leave Thailand with this visa, same wait to get new COE. Happy hunting.

Here is something else you may not know, to get a CEO with an
Plus to get a COE elite visa holders have to get Dept. Of Foreign Affairs approval. It is done in batches and there are sometimes weeks of waiting and depending on where you are coming from may be "delayed" indefinitely.
