Same same but different2 to the 10 power for those who understand.
But let's not allow all int'l passenger flights. At least the int'l airlines have new improved air filtration systems and disinfect the aircrafts big time between flights. Are the taxi's cleaned between rides? ????

We all need to accept in the eyes of the Thai authorities there are 2 types of people living in Thailand, Thais and tourists. Tourist = non Thai.
???? -
Working ex-pats, not snowbirds or retirees????

Out of the 40,000 that have returned - how many tested positive in quarantine ? The hospitals are making some big money.
SInce May 8, total + test = 3000, today 3966, soooooo 966. Most in quarantine, I think. Most Thais, so how much is hospital making?
May 8th , 161 active cases, today 94. Mostly Thais. 98.44% recovery.
What are you taking about?

1200 tourists? whoop whoop. LOL
Its all just Internal propaganda with no hold in real life.
I wonder who they think they are fooling? They are not tourists. They may be foreigners , but like me not a tourust, returning retiree.

The numbers never add up. I recently returned on a flight with 45-60 passengers and I did not see anyone that looked to be on a holiday.
And we were NOT, just returning ex-pats. And what a pile of you know what to achieve that.????

What you write is not correct > it is ONLY when applying for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) that you need to travel from a “LOW-RISK” AREA.
When meeting the criteria (e.g. married to a Thai national, or with a Non Imm O-A Visa) you can apply for the COE at your Thai Embassy/Consulate abroad.
You are very naive. Just try, oh you can apply all you want but do not expect to see you COE any time soon. Same for an Elite visa.
The Thai Gov't is run by the military , not trained civilians who may be slow, but can actually accomplish reasonable outcomes.

Strange that the article does not mention that there is now a relatively easy solution for all 3 cases. All of them can now apply for a 1-year Non Imm O-A Visa which would allow them to get the COE to return to Thailand.
What they say and what they do are 2 different animals of a different color. And if they were trust worthy it is still and expensive task, with almost impossible time lines and unreasonable requirements.

What are they thinking, it was China who f'ed up the Thai economy. The "C" in covid stands for CHINA!????

What part of Thailand's extended SoE has created the biggest personal problem for the noisome farang squatters herein?
What exactly is the problem that has become so unbearable for others here?
For me, I can still go shopping, buy food, run my kids to school, dine out, drink beer with my mates, go to beach or a National Park, stay in a hotel, access unlimited high-speed internet and enjoy uncensored social media video chat with family and friends back home, bring money into the country, buy a condo, order stuff online, etc., etc...
You are an idiot, there are people who had their long term visas expire while not being able to return to their homes in Thailand. My wife and I for 2 , and we have been living in
Thailand for 8 great years. We just happened to be on vacation when the <deleted> hit the fan, MATE!

I agree with schultzlivgthai - and I've been to the USA type (tiny) country of Burnei. Driving from the airport you'd think you were in Northern Va. heading for Md.
God help save us from the UN!

Comment # 24 may be right about the grandfathering but comment # 25 is 100% correct, this is nothing new in the past few years. But maybe some of the Euro- - -- , who have been slumming here will get to go back to their economically broke socialistic societies where they think Obama is so great.
-
How stupid a question can you ask? It will all depend on where you want to go and what airlines go to that airport.

Could it be April Fool's day?

This is a <deleted> shoot, the MFA, rejected me though I qualified and was one step away ... wait for it... I was coming from the USA and this was in Aug. They only took people from " certain" countries. Even though I was CV-19 free and was going to de 2 weeks quarantine in the hospital.
