Try being stuck in a 22 hour flight with a group of Chinese tourists from Narita to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Worst.Flight.Ever. The seatbelt sign was on and the planes going to the runway about to take go take off, this dude jumps out of his seat to go to the overhead compartment, then 3 more do the same. The flight attendants were not happy at all.

Either ways, whatever their nationalities may be, what motives may be, a murder was committed.
After a lot of years, I do get why a lot of taxi-drivers refuse passengers. Apart from the 4am turn-in time for rented cabs (these dudes rent a cab for like 800 baht a day), most of them aren't even from Bangkok. This is why a lot of people also distrust them, because rather than adapting to the values of city life, they try to bring their back-country behaviour to here. Basically just imagine a hick from some buttf*** southern state coming to work in NY or Boston, and bringing that whole thing over with him. Thats what these taxi drivers do here. And another thing is that the ones around Sukhumvit would rather just drive around there from mall to condo to mall to mall, etc. because of the ease of the next potential customer, rather than send someone far where they're not sure where if they're gonna get another customer, or if they do that the next customer might request somewhere even more riduculously further away.

Well at least the Bangkok Post link also gave an address to his [The Monk's] residence in Lake Elsinore, California by Ortega highway. I mean, every time I see that a Thai person has brought property in the US just pisses me off even more. Thai's can buy houses and property in the US but the US Citizen cannot buy property in Thailand. Nationalism can give me a poolside fellatio for all I care.

How about taking care of the taxi mafia virus?

My dad told me tons of stories about the Superstar. I mean, it was after my time, but did I hear a lot about that place. An uncle of mine told me about the Green Berets called the Colflesh brothers. Heard the book "Reefer Men" has a bunch of stuff about that bar in there.

The root cause of this is the lack of world education in Thai schools. For thai people, Hitler is a comical character and I'm pretty sure that they find this methamphetamine-fuelled speeches and body gestures pretty funny. Maybe they just want to take the power away, I dont know. But still, its the lack of world history in Thai schools that cause this.
I mean, this is how Thai people view the world anyways:
Credit to the local artist.

These are the "untouchable" monks that fly around on private jets. I would imagine the potential for smuggling illicit goods would be tremendous using this system.
I'm willing to bet that he may be smuggling tons and tons of drugs for his disciples. Hell he doesnt have to worry because he knows hes gonna get automatic kickbacks anyways.
and thats a sinister smile in the picture.

I always ask for their services using the same obnoxious loud voice that they speak to each other in. "NONG! PAI SIAM! TAO RAI???? OHHYYY PAENG PAI!!! KHANG TEE RAEW KHAA 30 BAHT! ARAI NIA?? KEE KHONG NEE WAAA"

rid thailand of corruption that does not benefit them. Thats the actual sentence

I like how the Thai's tell each other all the time that "real life isnt a lakron!" but they always act like real life is a lakron. But Thai TV will never have a show that rivals in quality to Twin Peaks. Thais dont like to think much, you all know that. "Mai yaak kid maak."

The Narcotics Control Board is also spending Bt10 million to produce an anti-drugs film entitled "Mak" (The Way), which will feature well-known local stars. The production was 80 per cent complete, Pongsapat said.
The remaining 20% would be completed as soon as possible but unfortunately the well-known local stars were at a party ripped to the tits on coke and meth.
Someone who isnt me has been to a bunch of these parties and partook in said activities with local stars, MANY of them, some of the most well known ones. Infamous Sek was not the only one. A really well known model/actress (who I will not name) gets all the yayo for her girls. A famous local hip hop group whose name is a pun on a strong metallic alloy gets a bunch of 420 from Southern Cali, with a crazy water pipe, but thats just the more "innocent" stuff....oh and lets not talk about the parties they host...and the kids that they hang out with.
I mean, Nikatina and Dead Prez would have a ton of material to rap about if they ever skimmed thai politics.

I skate from Queens Park (bts phromphong) to Nana soi 3 for dinner on the weekends. Usually by that time, sukhumvit traffic is as liquid as ice, so walking proves faster.
I'll factor in the air quality later.

This is ridiculous. Honor Honor Honor, your wife is cheating on you and your prime minister is also cheating on you.
I've grown up here for the majority of my life, and I've seen where this kind of thinking stems from. What do Thai kids watch on weekends? Chong Kaow Gatooon (Channel 9 Cartoon), which isnt cartoons as the west define it but its Japanese anime. I mean the content in that is not for kids at all, and I'm willing to bet that this dude watched a ton of Japanese anime (with themes of honor-killings) to the point where his perception of reality is pretty skewed. Letting a kid grow up with adult content anime has really gotta screw up a persons mind.
Those of you who are English teachers know what I am talking about. Look at what they read and what they want to read. That stuff fries your brain harder than Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Remembered I was once told by a couple of tuk tuk guys to go find a Taxi instead because football/soccer (Irish and American in me, I hold no allegiance) was on. I really hope they lost their cash in the bet.

There are actually metal shows going on everyday in Bangkok, but you just gotta find it. I mean Archgoat just played for the Bangkok Death fest. Hang around Chatuchak market as that seems to be the biggest hangout zone for punks, metalheads, and all forms of rockers, walk and check out the shops owned by metalheads or punks because they always have flyers and banners for upcoming shows in front of their store.
Thong Lor and Ekkamai are too hi-so, they cant handle metal.

Happened to me in the early days of the BTS stations. I was like what, 12 or 13 back then and good thing with my mom (who is Thai). My mom gave me a 500 bill to exchange into 80 baht, with 420 baht to be expected in change. She tried giving me back 20 telling me I only gave her 100 baht. I told her politely that I gave her 500 and that she must be mistaken, then she called me a kid and dumb and that I didnt know the difference between a 500 and a 100 note because "mun gor doo meun gun" (they look pretty similar). I lost it, I remember flipping out (I'm a luk kreung, fluent Thai with the hotheadedness of a caucasian) so I just started a tirade of "ai hea, ai sud, meung ja kamoy ngern gu tummai wa? gu hai meung 500 baht! AOW NGERN GU KEUN MAA!!!" them my mom comes, I tell her the situation and the lady tries to convince my mom that I gave her a 100 note. A security guard comes and my mom tells the security guard to get the manager and the manager comes. My mom reads the lady's name tag and starts refering to that lady by name to the manager. It ended up with the manager threatening to check the security footage and the lady hands me the 500 baht from her pocket. I remember my mom chastising the lady in front of a ton of other patrons and pointing to her face saying "Khon nee ja khamoy ngern khong khun. Lawang wai dee dee." It was awesome seeing a Thai person lose face and couldnt retaliate whatsoever.
But yeah, ripoffs happen all the time.

Its so funny about Thai people and buying and selling bikes. I remember a few years ago a friend of mine got a 92 VFR400 and the first day him and me were testing out the bike. We went out to the noodle stall and parked the bike next to the table. Some dudes came by and took a look and they're already asking if my buddy was gonna sell it. It eventually got to a point where my buddy made a sticker saying "not for sale, please dont ask" and stuck it on his bike.

Only reason its illegal to have a racing event in Bangkok is because the government doesnt want to have to ACTUALLY spend money fixing up all the potholes and resurfacing on all the potential roads that could be used as the street track. That would be the equivalent of what...oh a new shopping mall!!! or some other worthless venture.

wouldnt be a problem for me. Always prefered Coke anyways. If no coke, water.

Its just a way of getting the people in the MRT to give them bribes. The gas station owners, the public transport people and the "official" get a bribe each, then the whole thing becomes mai pen rai, mai pen rai.

They're just street-racing dek-waans. I mean its just one of the annoyances of living in a city. Personally I really dont mind them, I'm used to them already. Much more welcoming than hearing police and ambulance sirens back when I was living in Boston and Providence. I mean its annoying, but nothing to bite someone's head off over.

Route66's main target customer is Thai university kids, not farangs but you do see some that venture into there anyways.

I mean at the end of the day, its not like its gonna make a difference at all. Its pretty hard to take seriously when the majority of my Thai friends in the Chon Buri - Pattaya area are saying that the Kamnan Poh arrest earlier this year was just a publicity stunt and that he's actually living back in his luxurious mansion right now. Not surprising since the Pattaya mayor has been the main accomplice all along, after all they are father and son. Publicity people, Publicity. "If he were actually in jail.......hahahaha thats a good joke. Jail is a bunch of workers ready to work for him." Thats what somebody told me.
I mean, its like, lets make a big media fiasco out of this, then once it dies down thats when the real corruption takes place.
I can see this monk chilling out back here after the whole media focus on this is over. Even if the money is seized, He definitely still has followers who will probably give him a ton of money to stay content and happy. Now lets go back and focus on the Shinawats driving this country into the ground for their personal greed.
