Some claim gay is natural.

Many people think it isn't (usually on advice from God).

No more to say really , all the happy marriages i know are of guys who lived here for some time ,rogered everything in sight got bored then started to meet ordinary women,with ordinary jobs , most of them have now been together for years ,have kids ,homes and live the sort of lives they lived in the west . but i can see how some guy who cant meet anyone at home comes here on holidays can get sucked into the fantasy .

Another thought is that ,something that happens to you or what you are taught when you are young can influence the way you turn out ,as for what will happen to us as a species. The argument of "nuture or nature" is longstanding.

My own opinion is there is a genetic predisposition toward behaviour and character traits. They can be developed or supressed but never extinguished.

Oh i do believe you can surpress urges and live an ordinary life , but is it that some of us just give way and say its natural to be this way .

Something i and another poster said on another thread was deleted ,not because it was offensive but it did not relate ,we had gone off at a tangent .

so it made me think , are we born a certain way with certain urges or or preclavities , or do we learn them or have then pushed on us ?

now lets not get offensive and to be honest i do not really know , but most gay people say that you are born that way , i being devils advocate said that so were men or women who fancied children born that way ? and then the answer was that it was a crime just like murder etc , but is it are some people hard wired to be a phycopath , or a mass murderer , what are your thoughts ?

Just reading exit music ,by Ranking , a rebus novel , but i tend to read most of the other thriller writers , and i loved the frost novels, when i first discovered Thailand a long time ago i did read all the thailand novels , and before that i liked science fiction , both the wife and i are avid readers

Our son chose not to go to the university there but went to BKK i think it was because his girlfriend lives there and went to uni there , have been ourselves quite a few times , as Kitten Kong said , busy at weekends with Thais .during the week climbing the walls or watching paint dry is about as good as it gets .

Two bank accounts one in my daugters name in uk , she keeps it when i die , the wife and i have joint accounts in UK and she has pin numbers for all accounts in Thailand , hand written will leaving it all to her ,sorted .

All my wife's nieces and nephews speak English,the 4 children in our street speak it,their parents say it is an absolute must,luckily our son in his early years went to school in England ,now he is leaving uni soon ,he has been offered quite a few jobs ,for that main reason ,he speaks English like I do

The main point seems to me is why do boys grow up wanting to be ladies? My own humble theory, honed over many years observing in many societies, is that a lack of father figure does often result in a gay, homosexual child....so when you see the number of single thai mums this could be a reason there are many gays, toms, ladyboys I Thailand. (one reason , maybe with others also)

So you believe that the environment can turn an otherwise straight person gay? That's actually a dangerous belief. There are folks in the US who think that way and have tried to "convert" their gay sons, usually with disastrous results. I tend to believe that a person is born gay, i.e., genetics. No one "chooses" to be attracted to another of the same sex.

As to the OP's question, there "seems" to be more gays/ladyboys in Thailand because the Thais are very tolerant. There isn't near the stigma here as there is in the west. From a science perspective, Thailand has the same number of gays as anywhere else. Again, Thai society allows it to be exhibited freely.

I am playing devils advocate here,so don't shoot me,as I have no problem with gay people,but does that go for men that are attracted to children as well?

I would tend to believe in global warming more if

1/ the THames never used to freeze over in the 18th centuary

2/ grapes were not grown in Britain hundreds of years ago

3/ Britain and different times in history has been under ice and under water

4/there were freezing conditions in the middle ages in Britain

of course the global warming brigade will find excuses or Like Al Gore just tell half truths and lies ,then jet off in his private jet.
