Are the you guys who live here self employed, do you work for a multi-national? What sort of business are you in?

My friends are retired army, business owners, not bars, a millionaire, won the lottery, and i retired at 50 because my investments did very well, and still do, not forgetting my 4 private pensions and government pension to come.Also i have friends who will retire at 55 and live here ,already have houses and enough funds to live happily.

Thanks for the info ,but if you are in the Pattaya area ,go to The Queen Sirikit navel hospital , it govt run but uses doctors from major hospitals , very good and far cheaper than private hospitals ,

I don't want to offend anyone here as it seems like an aggressive forum sometimes. I have only been to Pattaya twice to visit a friend who lives there, and works in Bkk. So I only saw the small part of the city, but saw the bars and old men and young party tourists.

And I can only find negative stories on the internet about Pattaya. I ask the questions as my friend wants to open a business with me however I can not find any positive information when I search online.

If you only go to those tourist areas,that is all you will see, only bar owners etc there, Pattaya,where the real people live is a different land. As for stories about Pattaya,no one is going to write about Mr average who lives a normal life,its not interesting to the readers,its like the daily newspapers,they only write about things that go wrong ,killings,muggings,rapes, would you read a paper that wrote about daily "normal" life?

There is no exclusive listing system here so there is little incentive to market a home aggressively. That, and the fact there are literally thousands of homes for sale and few buyers at the moment, make it hard to fire up an agency for any particular house. I think most agents sit at their desk and spend the day watching YouTube cat videos.

Believe it or not there are honest agents , not a lot , and steer clear of all the Russian ones , but has been said there are far more properties than buyers and renters ,if its a house you are selling , best of luck , as for the condo market ,there are quite a few selling , but you know the saying ,you dont need me to spell it out

as for the knockers of agents , it goes with the terrotory , they all sit doing nothing untill you ,the one person in their life phones and says i want to go on a viewing now , and contrary to popular beliefe , rent ,rates ,electricity ,advertising ,cars ,petrol ,staff etc etc are all free , they as agents are exempt from paying it every week . and every penny of the commision the few properties they rent or sell every month goes straight into the bank ,dont even pay tax.

Still doesn't make them nice people.

But as someone said ,do it yourself ,and best of luck,you will need it, nobody forces anyone to use an agent,so why do people moan ,the answer is in their own hands

The only thing I can reply to that is that in my old home town ,most of the crime was carried out by immigrants , a friend was in the police force there and a few other friends were lawyers,they could tell you a few stories ,and the local newspaper,was not prejudiced,and that didn't lie,even now when I read it online ,the town has changed beyond recognition

I agree we are all immegrants here , but with a slight difference ,we bring our cash , claim nothing ,do not get free housing ,free health care , and all the other benifits Britain gives away ,while freezing our pensiones and charging us for healthcare when we are back , even though we paid in for over 40 years in most cases .

I just downloaded the two new comedies ,you and me and the apocolypse ,not bad will watch again ,and Dr Ken , to call it crap would be insulting ,that is to crap , the "acting" is awfull ,the script is only made worse by the fact you can hear it over the canned laughter , i lasted about 3 minutes and then lost the will to live

The new series of Hinterland ,set in Wales has started , its only in welsh with subtitles at the moment ,but will soon be released in English , it is so good .

This is England 90 , for those of you who like this sort of thing , gritty British drama , i love it , you really need to see the others in the series before watching this ,and this 4 parter has been slated compared with the others ,but to be honest i think its great , give it a try and really watch it .
