America's conflict with North Korea (shit on their official name) has been around for a very long time and it getting worse was predictable.
A developed nation equipped with high technology, spying satellites everywhere, drones and much more would be quite able to know everything about the places of the nukes and the artillery and the whereabout of the leader of a country like NK. I trust the US does.
Otherwise the previous governments have failed miserably in this matter.
If so there might me military ways by now not thought of that could solve the matter without too much collateral damage. The US also had their advanced military training in 'Afghanistan, Irak ...

Hopefully the officials will not give in to irrational pressure by deluded people.
".... Protests are planned in Fresno County and Los Angeles, by the Thai American Community today as frustration mounts at the slow progress of the operation. "
I hope they are protesting against the weather conditions - otherwise I couldn't believe of them being in their right mind. But protesting against weather ? .... anyway

Another step in the right direction. I am sick and tired of all the negative and sarcastic comments here. Thai Visa - a hub of pessimistic misanthropic old guys - in denial that democracy has never been in Thailand, just corruption, cronyism, shinism. But they yearn for another shin government which they would call democracy.

Thailand must understand American culture and respect it. As much as you'd like Thailand to let their own people in, we are not children and this isn't about pride. Lives are not pawns in some silly egotistical game.
Sometimes I think that most Thais don't understand any other culture nor do they respect it.

They just don't want anybody to know how qualified and serving they are.

Hard to feel sympathy for a man who clearly couldn't give two s*** about the lives of the people who'd be mindlessly sent in to retrieve two bodies in a very dangerous situation. Maybe he could go in and retrieve the rescuers' bodies?
Just very very selfish and inconsiderate thinking. Me, me, me.
This guy is just jaundiced by the Thai delusion of superiority over other nations - while the opposite is clearly true
despicable

I am afraid that this poor man reason has been clouded by the emotion of his loss.
Sending in a Thai rescue team to possibly die themselves would not help dilute his grief or frustration.
The US team would have made a calm decision based on the best possible outcome under the conditions present on the ground (not in the Thai media). Sadly recovery will need to wait.
I am sorry for his loss.
His reason has been clouded not so much by the tragic event but by typical Thainess, probably always have been that way.

INSANE
What would YOU do, as THE leader of YOUR country, if you saw missiles headed in the direction of YOUR country or territories, or your allies?
18 - 25 miles and they drop into the sea? What happens if one drops inside 12 miles?
Inside 12 miles WOULD be a act of war - inside the standard territorial waters many countries observe, what if land fall was made?
""Oh sorry that we killed some of your citizens"" would not be a good reply.
Little fat man is throwing $hit at the fan, if it hits the fan, a world at war!!
World at war?
I think the other countries even China - will not like to be involved. Why should they? They will just watch. And that will be the end of NK.

Kim may be a psycho, but he is not suicidal and will understand only too well the consequences of going through with it. This is sabre rattling to piss the Donald off, who has been stupid enough to get involved in a war of empty threats.
How can you know he is not suicidal?
Does his behavior exclude this? Or even make it seem unlikely?
And if he is - that's really dangerous! Then he will not care to commit suicide like a giant suicide bomber together with his people and as much of his "enemies" as he can.
It might be wise not to exclude this possibility.

I would say they have called this one fairly accurately. Only a fool would get sucked in to a game of rhetoric with North Korea.
You're right.
NK needs another kind of answer

As stated in another thread:
A nuked NK is not an option.
Time is running out
Now Trump has to deal with what his predecessors messed up.

You might or might not be right with your comprehensive analysis.
But your last sentence is all that counts:
A nuclear NK is not an option.

"THE DEATH of a former land official will not affect the ongoing process to cancel land-rights documents he illegitimately issued"
It should affect the probe of all land deals in Phuket, at least during the years this land official was busy

Yes of course but it's also a matter of scale. Think of how many nukes Trump has and how much damage his lunacy could cause and then compare Kim who has the missiles but not yet the nuke warheads to put on them. Both nutjobs but one with bigger nuts!
I don't think the US would need or use their whole arsenal. Wouldn't it be possible to just destroy the strategic targets at one sudden strike - so Kim has no chance to hit back? With only little collateral damage?

No but I don't rest in peace knowing that Trump has the nukes and knows the codes! Or Putin, or even Pakistan.
So you think it doesn't matter if there is one potential arsonist more?

Thailand was awarded the best country to start a business in 2017
I would have never expected that
-
Kim "... hasn't said that he would strike anyone first. "
And are you sure you can trust him?
While it would not make much sense for him to start an attack on the US - (btw what about South Korea?) - does he appear to be a trustworthy character? One where the world can rest in peace when he has the nukes?
-
Tragic but expected.
At least the uncertainty is over

US: Bring it to an end - before time runs out

Good work by this government. Similar actions never seen before.
Hope they continue

Seems the criminals were not far. Not showing that they now of the situation and have some plain clothes police and a lot of cameras around might have been a good idea. Are their ways to locate a jammer? Would work even better.
(Please forward to the police - so they might know, too

"He is a volunteer through a foundation in petchaburi and then transferred.
Fycks sake the whole is story is only a few hundred words how hard could it be to comprehend?"
I thought even volunteers would need a work permit in Thailand - and btw. why are you getting rude? Your beer too warm?

so embarrassing I have to say that:
hopefully he has a work permit

More and more senior military and cops revealed to be criminals.
How come their senior don't know what activities they are involved in?"
Yes - and this never happened under any other government, in particular not under the shins - which makes me think why they are still a power to be reckoned with
