  1. I purchased an i-Phone 6 back (in Pattaya) in June '15. The battery does not last as long as it use to and sometimes it will say 45% full then all at once switch to zero. Where is a reliable repair shop where I can get this problem figured out. I bought the phone at Power Buy but they have no repair shop. There is Tuk Com but I do not want to give my phone to some 18yr old to "experiment" with it. Any suggestions where to get it fixed...looked at my a reliable shop in Pattaya?

I just replaced my iPhone 5 battery at Tuk Com and wouldn't hesitate replacing the one in my iPhone 6 there. No drama and it took about 20 minutes. You do get a choice of the OEM or knockoff battery, I chose OEM.

Ferry from Bali Hi pier? Are they still running since the army clean up of the area?

Yes, as far as I know they are just cleaning up the parking mess or lack of parking by restricting boat trailer parking.

  3. I've been renting a single for 6500 baht at Jomtien Beach Condo and couldn't be happier.  Close to the beach, quiet, great friendly staff and security,  has a couple exercise rooms, good pools and small shops, not to mention the 7-11's and Family Mart.

For more money I could do better but why, I'm happy here.  Couple of Farmer's Markets near by and plenty of beer bars, massage places and gentlemen's clubs close by also if that is what you like.

  4. Lareena Resort By the Sea Koh Lan

Just take the main ferry from Bali Hai peer and you'll land right next it, just past the island's only 7-11.

Close by are motorbikes for rent tuktuks are around also for exploring.  Last time I went there were hoards of Chinese on the other side, this was before the last fatal ferry boat sinking or the Russian being kicked with sand for not renting a beach chair.

Hopefully things have improved there, I've never had any trouble there and have always enjoyed my stay.

Do you have any more condos to rent Roger

No I don't personally but there are always condos for rent here.  Just a quick look up and you'll see numerous signs advertising for rent and sale.  There is a cheap place to rent over by the  Hanuman statue, pretty much a saturated market.

Try the ads on this website and also http://www.bahtsold.com/ , no shortage of inexpensive condos for rent.

How much are Subways these days, haven't had one in ages.

I've been addicted to their meatball subs lately, not bad.  Pastrami & Rye or Richman Poorman have them beat of course but as mentioned above, more options are good.

  7. I stand by my original post about the best ribs in the Pattaya area is at Jomtien at Richman Poorman Guesthouse (Corner Beach Road Soi 9, Jomtien, Pattaya, Pattaya, CB, Thailand  +66 38 233 414)

    every weekend after 12 noon.

Falling off the bone tender, juicy and very tasty.  Well worth the visit.

    Today is Ed's birthday :-).

At Udon thani office ..................the ONLY thing you need for a 90 day report is your passport. No copies of anything.

As stated by OP ....scan barcode on previous receipt , a few keyboard strokes , print out new receipt. Last visit I didnt even have to sign the new form as I previously had to.

Again , all done in less than 1 minute ( if no-one else waiting in queue)

I was actually replying to poster Roger Lee who stated he got his first extension from CHONBURI Immigration and was asking about his first 90 day report (I presumed also in Chonburi). He doesn't say whether he went to Jomtien or Si Racha but I go to Si Racha where (two weeks ago) they still required the documents I posted.

I'm well aware that different offices apply different rules but that's the latest from Si Racha in Chonburi. Still in and out in about two minutes though because these days there's no queue.

Yes, I'll be going to the Chon Buri office. I'll probably go about a week ahead of time in case there are problems.

  9. What exactly is required for the 90 day reporting? I assume it's for a non O based on retirement.

I received my visa from Vientiane and got the retirement stamp approved at Chon Buri Immigration, will be due for the 90 day next month.

Only your passport and get a number at the front desk. Never took me longer then 5 minutes.

If you're visiting immigration to do your 90 day report, as well as your passport, what you actually need to take is:

    A completed TM 47 form
Your last receipt of Notification slip that's stapled into your passport (Original)
    plus photo copies of:
    Your Passport photo page
Date of Arrival (Last Entry Stamp)
Permit to Stay Up Until (Last Visa Stamp or Extension)
    TM.6 (Arrival/Departure Card)
Of course if it's your first 90 day report you won't have a previous receipt of Notification slip stapled into your passport.

    Thanks!
