  1.

I'll bet their average Marriott guest makes $150,000 / year salary or more.
    A walk-in rate for a sea view room with breakfast = 18,750Bt.

I really think they don't want the average Pattaya slob resident traipsing thru the place.

If so, why do they do a carvery for 350B (recently increased from 300B) which is cheaper and better quality than several others around town that I could mention? Also their late lamented Indian buffet at 300B.

The only odd thing about Dicey Reilly's pricing is the drinks, notably the small bottle of water at the previously mentioned 80B. It is very out of proportion with the price of the food.

Assuming that the 6 wines and the cheeses are varied and of good quality then 790B isn't a bad price (though the tapas and wine buffets available at competing establishments might be more varied). Of course if the wine is Mont Clair and the cheese buffet is that yellow rubbery stuff they call "mozzarella" here then it wont be much of a bargain.

    well said KK.

  2. guys if they charge  80 baht for a bottle of water, what makes you think  that the wine and cheese would be free. They have a great location, it is owned by the Marriot, so no rent to pay, and yet they are the most expensive bar in Pattaya when they could be the cheapest. It makes no sense .

stick me down as  " + 1" on that.

  3. Believe or not but I've bought a CBR 250R for 5k and it is 15965 km. Old

you didn't used to be an accountant at Polly Peck did you ??

  4. Jambco,

Might have been a long time out of the racing game old fella, but he'd knock 10 bells out of you or any person on this forum, on any bike, any track, any road, any surface, any weather, any time, any place oh and on any tyres.....in fact:

Carl George Fogarty, is the most successful World Superbike racer of all time in terms of the number of championships and number of race wins.

Now retired, he is renowned for his high corner speed riding style, combined with an aggressive competitiveness, which netted him 59 victories and four World Superbike Championships (1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999).

What year was your Honda Click, by the way ?

  5. Tyre snobbery.

Sorry to have to drag Carl Fogarty out of retirement again.

So all you in the "IRC tyres are crap" gang.

we'll stick Carl Fogherty on a 300F (as its a 300F thread) with the standard IRC tyres and you on a 300F with your "top jolly" tyres - and have a race......wet, dry, on a race cuircuit or through the traffic, i'm sure Mr Fogaerty would knock spots off you, with those "rubbish" tyres.

    Food for thought.

yes, sure Carl Forgety beats all of us here with IRC tires but i am sure he will not be racing with IRCs.

He'll be racing with the tyre comapny that gives him the most money...

  7. IRC tires are dangerous. Typical of the crap "Honda are fitting / throwing on their bikes nowadays.

That's one hell of a sweeping statement, Jeffers old boy.

Just how long have you been a pipe fitter welder for exactly ?

  8. To put the CB300 into an emoticon.

    saai.gif

Sir ! You are being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

Maybe in future you should stick to your Skandinavien credit card collection and leave the Bike section to real enthusiasts.

You knew this thread was about a keenly priced (126,000 Baht) 300cc bike - why try and @@uck the thread up by posting useless twaddle ?

I'm sure if Carl Fogarty were on the front of a CB300F and you were on the back and he took you out for an hours thrash, you'd be far from bored.

IMHO this bike is likely to be the best seller in its class.

  9. Sorry OP - its time to put your copy of "The Kings new clothes" away....

The bike is just plain awful looking.....one was following me a few days back, and with the greatest respect to disabled people and disabled people's transport - the Tri City looked like disabled person's transport.

For us guy's the look of our bike is important and i'd be plain embarrassed to be seen on one.

Someone has said before "Yamaha have tried to fix a problem that doesn't need fixing" - having two front wheels on a 115cc scooter is just plain bonkers.

Then their is the price - 82,000 B - almost identical price to a new model Honda PCX 150cc..

If i was in a dealers showroom and a PCX and Tri City were side by side, each with a 82,000 B price tax - Chineese water torture couldn't make me plump for the Tri City.

  10. Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support Windows 7 after January 13, 2015. It will continue to issue security fixes only for another six months after that: until June 13, 2015. The source was an article in CNET. Windows 9 anyone?

Bleedin hell, i'm still trundling along with XP and was contemplating going to Win 7......oh well.....

  11. Finally got my seat cover. 2900 thb and made by a nice guy in Hua Hin.

Fits perfectly and good quality. No shaking, no movement.

Really transformed that chubby rear end in a nice way. Bike looks different with it, sharper which i liked it a lot!

Thats a fine looking bike, LL.....

  12. So let me get this right - You've decided, instead of spending your whole life in front of a computer telling whoever will listen, er, about your life.

to spending your whole life in this bar, you've bought in your Girlfriend's name, telling whoever will listen, er, about your life.

wonder how long before we hear 'just one drink won't hurt'

Sounds like you're still a little sore that you told me about uktv and silly me,I failed to ring your praises from the rooftops.

So let me put matters right. Thank you so much for you kind and well meant comments. They are much appreciated.

PS be sure not to miss my self serving blog tomorrow.

Blimey, Mobi's gone all bitter and twisted.

i'd be putting my efforts into my relationship, bearing in mind your track record, than bun fighting on here old fella......

  13. K Bank, otherwise known as Kasikorn Bank.

Very easy to get all of the above on the spot. Any kind of Visa will do. No work permit requirement. No residence certificate required.

Branches and ATMs located all over Pattaya/Jomtien.

    yes agree with that.

Been with K Bank for 5 years and never had the slightest problem.

  14. Post a picture, maybe I let her stay with me at no cost.

That could well be in the running for "post of the month".

    on a serious note......

From Pattaya Klang end - down Soi Bukkow, just as it swings round to the right by "R Con" hotel - Turn left.....

There are literally hundreds of moderately priced rooms down there....just a case of having a walk round there and seeing whats' available.

    Good luck !

  16. seen a black new pcx today on the road and it looks really uglier than the old one expect led lights that looks good and quality.

looks so bland like a honda spacy.

LL - you've really got it in for the good old PCX - harping on how much better the SH150 is, despite its 20,000 b price premium....

so the SH has got a rear disc and bigger wheels - who cares - its F Ugly

Below is a picture of an SH150 - can you honestly say its better looking than a PCX ??

    attachicon.gifsh.jpg

If the PCX150 is selling for 81,000 baht, then the price difference is only 4,000 baht less than what I just paid for a new SH150.

I have no complaint about how the SH150 looks or how the PCX150 looks, and I was planning on buying a PCX150 too, but for a different use than what I bought the SH150 for. Who cares about what someone else thinks about how your bike looks as long as you like it?

I thought the 2014 PCX150 was going to have rear disc, does it still have a drum brake on the rear? And the 16 rims and big tires on the SH150 make for a really comfortable ride, in my opinion.

to many bikers what the bike looks like and and what other people think is very important to them.

    85,000 B for a SH150 eh ??

they are imported from Vietnam and last time i was in a bike shop, they had one marked up at 99,000 b - and when i enquired why so much - was told "cus import"

Even if you could get an SH for the same price as the PCX, i'd go PCX.
