  1. I am torn between the CBR 500 X and CBR 500 F.

I like the riding position of the F. It feels really comfortable for me at 5'5". However the lack of any windshield puts me off. Perhaps a small windshield can be fitted. I feel even a small windshield can make a significant difference.

The X should be more comfortable. It has better suspension. It has a comfier seat. Is it less revvy? Can someone confirm this? On the flip side, I lose some field of vision in front of the front wheel and it feels unnatural not to be able to look down on the front wheel (as I have been able on every bike I have ever owned and can do on my current CBR 150Ri). I am worried it will be top heavy, but the comments here suggest that is not the case.

So, if anyone has windshield comments for the F, I'd like to hear. And if anyone under 5'9" has comments on the riding position and view you get on the X, that would be great too.

    X better......

  2. Was the hotel in Pattaya?

Edit: No it wasn't and the original thread is here.

That link you posted was from another member, not from this OP.

Is this hotel in Pattaya? Are you sure those 2 receptionists are happy that you posted their picture here? They look pretty happy after having a conversation about rats in the hotel. In the picture you posted the hotel doesn't look like some rat infested place.

    Strange post really.

yes, there are some really WEIRD people here in Pattaya.

  3. no i am not. they stopped me only once in hua hin with my cbr250 for 1.5 years but that pipe was hell loud.

bluekraft one is really not loud at all so i dont think so they will stop me. this is bangkok not pattaya or phuket too!

you're lucky......happens regularly over our neck of the woods...

  4. Got it today thanks to Brian. I am happy to buy it from Brian for the same price 4990 thb including installation. It looks good for 4990 thb. Not a bad quality product which made me surprised. Actually liked it a lot. And it will turn into a golden color soon. It sound louder. I am happy to get out of scooter mode. People can hear me know. It has a nice roar. And it is not loud which is great:lol: Performance wise, could not test it fully as was carrying the stock pipe on back. But i can say a nice bump on low and mid range and also better top end and you can totally feel it:D I will write my full impressions tomorrow regarding performance. I can recommend it for 5000 thb. Again thanks for brian for the fast business. It was breeze in his shop as always. Took 15 min to install it nicely. Thanks for Woody the pipe maker too for his assistance on the phone. And thanks all for your feedback. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

aren't you worried about getting tugged by the BIB every 5 mins ?

1,000 b each and every time apparently....

Love the "man bag" by the way.....

  5. i had one of these in 1998,so i know where you're coming from:

    attachicon.gif1367937094806.jpg

Is that a Sportster engine in a home made frame? Basically what one would consider to be a kit bike. I say that as some things in America just don't see the light of day in the rest of the world.

It's like the Australian Drysdale V8. How many American's would know it existed?

no its a Buell White Lightning.........
