  1. Yes. If it is heated or cooked, which it most likely is, some oils turn to saturated fats. Best to stay away from all palm oil as it is very toxic to the body. Same goes with soybean oil, the primary oil used in the cooking of food in thailand. Cottonseed is horrific. Canola is slightly better, but I still avoid it. It is very cheap so manufacturers like to use it. From what I hear it is fairly toxic too, when cooked. Best to use only rice bran and olive oil for cooking at home. Both are nutritious and both have hardly any saturated fat even when cooked at high temperatures. Rice bran oil is inexpensive, and found in any good supermarket. I tend to avoid store bought products with the poor quality oils. Seems that the frequent use of these poor oils is just inviting coronary, arterial and other health problems.

Having worked in the Oils and Fats industry most of my life I have to challenge some of your statements:

1.Unsaturated oils do not become saturated on heating, but may polymerise hence the black gunge around your wok/frying pan

2.Palm oil and specifically palm olein is the most commonly used oil here for cooking.

3.Canola or low erucic Rapeseed oil is no better than Soyabean oil and if used frequently before disposal produces lots of off flavours

    4. Cottonseed oil is an excellent frying oil, which is why McD use it, blended with beef fat (or edible tallow) for flavour.

5 Olive oil is the healthiest oil, but is a salad oil and should not be used for cooking as it has a low smoke point.

    6. If you want the benefits of olive oil then use rice bran oil, as it has a higher smoke point, it also has oryzanol and tocotrienols which have added heath benefits

  2. Just been through this with a Lenovo K3 Note, similar model.

Search on the internet how to"root" your phone, load recovery software and then load a non Chinese "ROM"

A Singaporean guy called Jin Lin does a nice video on how to do it and it worked for me.:

Just search for the right ROM for your model

  3. OK to sum up here's my experience:

1.buy the best box you can afford(I bought the minix top of range and it's perfect)

    2. Ensure you have the fastest possible internet connection cable obviously the best

    3. Don't buy any preconfigured Kodi set ups as it's so easy to do yourself!

    4. Google "Ares Wizard" and find out how to load it, loadd of instructions on the web.

5.Google "Spinztv", "Blackbox" and "Chris B" wizards and load one of them into a fresh start of Kodi, ( Fresh start means with no other wizards/addons loaded)

6.Once you've got this working and you are familiar with Kodi's strange ways of doing things you can download a second version of Kodi, i.e. TVMC and load a different wizard on that. I currently have Spinztv on Kodi and Blackbox on TVMC as they both approach the final solution of good TV in a different way.

7 Don't worry about the remote or Airmouse, better to but a Logitec wireless mouse and keyboard.

    Hope this helps,

  4. Doubtless packed with icky trans fats from when they hydrogenated the oils to make them solid. Best avoided in my opinion.

I'm impressed you can make decent pastry, though. All my attempts have failed miserably. Either the fat melts, or (if I put everything in the fridge before starting) there's too much water condensing in the mix.

Palm Stearine is the solid fraction from Fractionation of normal palm oil. It is not hydrogenated. Do some research before you criticize next time!

  5. I used to sing with the Hong Kong Male Voice Choir, although not Welsh, I managed to learn all the Welsh standards.

We performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera house along with many other choirs, plus many charitable functions in BKK, Ho Chi Minh and the Phillipines.

Good fun and would love to do something like that in Pattaya, but we need to find a musical director...there must be someone out there!

  6. Signed up for 2 years, 2 months to go in the contract and the set top box fails and goes into constant reboot mode.

Contacted CTH and was told set top box warranty 1 year only so I have to buy a new box at 1800THB.

Obviously cheap rubbish from China. I have no intention of renewing my contract as I use 365sport.tv, as I only had CTH for EPL, rest of the programmes are crap

Please be aware of this con!

  7. It would appear from their website that they have gone. Anyone know why?

I used them 3 or 4 times, good range of products, good service, they could communicate well in English and you could pay on line in English unlike the other 2 suppliers.

[Just in case you want to censor this there is nothing illegal about supplying home brew ingredients,(witness my son brought some all grain kits and wine making

kits from the UK and was pulled apart by customs at Swampy and they waived him thru as no alcohol present!), it is however illegal to brew and sell home brewed products here.]
