You surely will be. I found the locals to be much friendlier there but the price/quality of accommodation and food sucks + bad transportation and infrastructure... I love vacationing there but I wouldn't want to live there long time.

And if you marry a Thai national and want to apply for a spouse visa you need the Thai bank account first with 400.000 baht seasoned for 3 months in it. How are you supposed to open this account if you need the spouse visa first? Amazing Thailand...

I have been and stayed longer periods of time in most of the Thai tourist towns. In my opinion Pattaya has the least rain and when it's raining it has a lot of options of things to do while raining.

Hello moderator! Is this news serious or is it an April's fools day news?

They blame foreigners to not abide the law when in the meantime you rarely see thais making receipts at their businesses or of course employing myriads of Burmese and Cambodian workers without contracts. Yes let's put this migrant workers in jail, not the employers. Not to speak about traffic laws... Foreigners get stopped for routine checks when wearing helmets and seemingly look okay while Thai kids aged 12 pass by 4 on a Honda wave all without helmets (and no licence).

I will not be surprised if the taxi apps are going to ask for advance payment or deposit payment in the near future before starting the pick up seeing how common and easy it is for people to cancel their rides.
