  1. Nong Han for sure, constantly waved passed road blocks when the locals are stopped and fined. I once stopped anyway and bib says, don't stop, we don't fine farangs here. Love the place. Been 5 years in and out and the bib seem to wave to farangs and enjoy the wave back.

  2. Married my Isaan wife in her village in 1968. After raising our kids in the States, the wf and I retired back here. We live outside a very old rice farming village and find life here very good and peaceful. I believe it is true that most Thais see farangs as walking ATMs. Several of her family members often hit me for whiskey money, school fees, funerals or unlimited tam boon, Being family, they have no concept of returning any money but always like to let me know how good my next life will be.

if your silly enough to give it to them, what can I say. I would say the best is to direct them to your wife as she controls the money and you will see the difference
As my wife is the youngest of 7, she now has an outlook like a westerner. When we last went to see MIL, most brothers and sisters also came to visit. 4 of them hit her up for a 'loan' and she told them never again as she's been giving them money for 10 years now and never repaid. They all work, gamble and drink a lot. Needless to say that the day they were refused money they left without even saying goodbye to mother. So proud of her. A week later, MIL asked for a large amount of baht, wifey asked what for? She replied, your brother wants to buy another taxi, now mother lost face as she told her what she told them. Even prouder.

Stand your ground or it will never stop.

But they milked her dry of your money for 10 years. You should say stand your ground from day 1

I should have said for ten years before I met her, then taught her how to invest and look at what they had done with the money they bled out of her. She learnt pretty quickly b

  4. If the repliers worked for someone in their own country and did not get paid, I'm sure they would not like the abuse from TV members when they ask for help. OP did what she was asked and ripped off by a tight ass bitch. Karma love.

We pray that all turns out great for you and this year will be better.

It's in the past, learn and live.

  5. Road safety campaign Wear a helmet Don't drink n driveYaba is a no no Slow down Learn to drive first Who am I kidding? It's Thailand.

Actually, in the majority of the motorcycle accidents that I have seen, the motorcyclists were wearing helmets, were not high on drink or drugs, and could drive. Everyone had been hit by a car or bus, usually sideswiped, some rear ended, and a few hit head on. Many Thai car drivers think the roads are racing circuits, foot down and go.

maybe a sumo suit would help
  6. I wish all Thais would realize that this whole idiotic episode is about who gets to control government contracts. Who would die for someone else's pockets? It's definitely not for the plight of freedom and democracy. Btw, the Democrat Party should have their use of the word 'democrat' stripped from them. They are just as bad.

Why? Because they want a clean and non corrupt democratic system??

name one country in the world with a clean non corrupt democratic system !!!!!!!!!!!!

    australia
  7. To avoid dirty looks and being called nasty names, go with b. 300

having a decent round of golf in Thailand now days is an expensive

    form of exercise..

    eh ???

ive just come back from a 23 day tour of Pattaya, and played 6 times, I joined Pattaya sports club and then played

mainly out of 'The Golf Club' in Lk metro, the golf was tremendous value for money (and im a budget traveller who stayed in a 550 baht night room)

I paid between 1500 to 2200 per round, that included transport, Green fee, Buggy and Caddy.

The most pricy was the fantastic St Andrews course which was top class +caddy tip (300) approx. £50 sterling

In the Uk to play a comparable standard course, have a buggy and caddy and you would be paying well over £100,

compare Thai prices to Spain and Portugal !!!

all in all my 6 games cost about £250, awesome value with virtually guaranteed good weather and fantastic courses and after golf facilities,

and you can even arrange to bang the caddy later oi oi!!

    a golfing paradise

ps I always tipped 300 as that was what the regulars said to give them

At least you have the right nickname

after playing 18 holes at my age, no chance at the other hole. Seriously, never even thought if a caddy being anything else but a caddy and someone to have a laugh with, especially when they see the way I play. Oi. Lol.
