I spend 18 months as an ordained Monk in Thailand. The hardest part if finding an Abbot that can speak good English to help you with your Dhamma and meditation.

After I ordained and then 'disrobed', I gave the robes back to the wat where I originally ordained (I stayed elsewhere after my ordination during the Rain Retreats). The robes are washed, refolded, and given to young men entering the Sangha who may not be able to afford to buy robes themselves.

The Vinaya itself talks about how monks are to accept and 'determine' (mark) new robes that are given to them. New robes are not difficult to come by as many lay people consider it good merit to give a monk a robe. There is a tad bit of discussion of what is done with 'wore-out' robe. Typically they were used for carpets, curtains, covering, or put to other uses. But the bottom line is that once the monk has put the robes aside and no longer uses them as robes, they are again just pieces of cloth.

I did the same after disrobing. Whilst I really wanted to keep my robes I made merit by leaving them for the new generation.

I swear by Smart Launcher is simple and quick.

Been on my Note 3 for about 6 months and simply would not consider anything else. Sure it's larger than most handsets but I use it for Web apps which is perfect. Google PLAY has so many variations of apps you will find what you need there.

Maybe if more people kept pushing i-mobile about getting the latest versions of android they might change their policy. Of course it would need support of Thai customers too.

BUT, the post made elsewhere suggesting the X will never get Android 4.3, let alone 4.4 would be the real killer for me

Can I ask what 4.3 features you are so keen on having only I have a 4.3 device as well as my IQX and have to say I prefer the IQX version of jelly bean over my newer 4.3.

Don't worry Just go to any border, but watch out for police check points , if you get stopped on the way this changes the whole issue. I overstayed for 20+ years and paid the 20K fine and came back in 10 mins the immigration actually laughed and said!!!!! ohhh 20yrs you must like Thailand very much, I guess we will see you again in a few minutes!!!! and yes I came back in no problems at all, as was said in previous posts be polite don't try to hide anything and you will be fine. Just for you info I left via the Nongkhai Border crossing .

OP as a side note.

Yes I left with a 4 years overstay (court had my passport) and I sailed straight through immigrations after paying the fine BUT as has been posted many times here you run the risk of serious problems is asked to provide your PP by the police. I had cause to show ID a number of times whilst without a PP by a laminate of the back page but if challenged to provide the original you are in a world of pain.

Mine was like yours before I got it back from the i-mobile shop recently after being repaired.  That's a whole extra 500MB for apps on the internal and I don't care about the built in SD card being less because like you I have a 32 GB card inside.  The internal built in SD card and external removable card have their labels swapped in this case but it seems to vary on all the Android devices I've seen.

I left July this year with a 4 year overstay.

Zero problem at the airport as long as you have 20 cash for the fine.

No problem coming back.

 

Also if someone could install Titanium Backup and upload the disk partition sizes of the various firmwares I'd like to see that too.

Have to confess I picked up a Galaxy Note 3 on 4G at the weekend now my poor IQX is relegated to bouinging texcts and calls to me......

I submitted a contact form to i-mobile to ask if JB 4.3 would be coming to the IQX and was told it would never be available. If this is the case I am even more interested to see if I can root this phone so if anyone can try installing the drivers and trying to get adb to work I would be grateful to hear about it.

Also if someone could install Titanium Backup and upload the disk partition sizes of the various firmwares I'd like to see that too.

I thought you needed root for Titanium?????
