Amazing app considering it doesnt need root.

I just checked in the apps store... It says it needs root access.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

    Thanks for the correction.

I have used it on my tablet but not the IQX. As far as I know there is no easy way to root the IQX other than dropping in a new CWM ROM....

  2. IMO Phablets like the IQ9 and NOTE2 are niche market but certainly have value.

Comparing them to a similar/exual spec Smartphone is slightly unfair simply because of the size. Some like and need it others will consider it just too big.

@Familyonthemove - thanks for taking the time to post your 'real life' review it makes interesting reading.

  3. The main service centers offer a guaranteed fix/replacement within 1 hour.

Dont get caught rthe way I did forst toime I went back the local shop and they sent it away for me taking 1 month.

Centers available on the i-Mobile site.

  4. Yes, 5.7 just as the Samsung Note !

But what I noticed more is how small is the IQx when I see most of the people having a bigger one.

And IQ9 still fit in trousers pocket, so it's ok, and for this cheap price I wouldn't care to break it fast anyway.

Hands on the size difference really is noticable.

The IQX is very slim about half the thickness of my old N8 IMO negates that embassing pocket buldge a IQ9 would cause...... :-))

  5. With other dual sim phones you are only able to access 3G internet from one sim slot so you would have to physically swap the sim card over.

This is the first dual SIM I have ever had and I didnt know that. Thank you.

    There....................clear as mud now isn't it whistling.gif

You may laugh it is actually a lot clearer for me. Not sure what says about me but hey ho!

    Thanks guys.

  6. Hey, have you notice that the IQ9 is exactly the same as IQx but with bigger screen ?

So for the 500 Thb price difference it is a lot better, but I guess that IQx will be cheaper soon...

Have you noticed just how big the IQ9 is though........

  7. In the user manual for my IQ 1.1 it says a micro SIM will only work in SIM 2 card slot so maybe something to check for other i-mobile phones.

@kkerry rthanks for checking that. Whilst oficially its true in reality the micro SIM will still fit into the full size SIM1 slot without having to use a SIM adaptor but only just.

Just been to the thirs Vodafone shop to tell them t there is a problem with their SIM and my handset and that it works OK on Three only to be told there was nothing they could do.

Anyone looking to use this handset in the UK I would recommend getting a Three SIM dont bother with Vodafone IMHO.

  8. I'm in the UK using a 3 SIM and everything worked as soon as I put the SIM in. I just ordered a free Vodaphone SIM which comes with 30 days free internet so I will give it a try when it arrives.

    --damole

Just done the same thing myself and it connected instantly.

Odd with the Vodafone SIM I wasnt getting any 3/3G/H symbol against the GSM signal strength indicator. Removed the Vodafone so only had 1 Three SIM and it worked first time.

    Cheers for the confirmation.

  9. I went to the local i-mobile shop who explained sim 2 is the primary slot for 3G and they changed the settings to make that the primary sim again to show me. I then had both calls and 3G internet on sim 2 plus call facilities on sim 1. By simply switching 3G internet to sim 1 in settings I can still get the internet via that sim (but with sim 2 disabled of course).

    I hope this makes sense.

OK getting closer and yep I am with you so far.

So you can only access data on 1 SIM but are able to swap between what SIM you want? From your first post it sounded like you was able to use both SIM data's at the same time. I agree it looks like I have an APN issue but for the life of me I can not get around it even after manually creating the APN.

    Interesting.

Just pulled my Three SIM from my Nokia and dropped it into SIM1 with the Vodafone on SIM2 no joy for data on either in fact the GSM for Three (SIM1) disabled itsself.

Removed the Vodafone (SIM2) leaving only the Three (SIM1) in I finally have a dada connection!

So it is a Vodafone problem time to try and get my Vodafone number switched to Three.

    Cheers guys.

  10. Forgot to add earlier, unlike other dual sim phones where you can only use one sim to access the internet, with the IQ X(A) you can get 3G access with both sims.

sumrit I am in the UK for a while and simply can not get my IQX to work with Vodafone. ThaiCBR has been trying to help me through it but nothing seems to work. Checked the APN and it all looks OK.

Curious you say both SIM slots work for data is that documented?

    Cheers.

  11. I agree the phone's brilliant but the gell case supplied is no good. Although the case doesn't protect the screen you should have had a clear screen protector supplied with the phone. They put it on my phone automatically when I bought it so they've probably done the same for you.

Likewise I've looked everywhere but was told that at the moment there's no alternative cases available. I ended up buying a 'pouch style' case to use for now. I think it's really designed for a Samsung S3 but the IQ X just about fits in.

It has the 'demi sheath' and screen protector but I need more. Hang on sounds like an AD campaign doesnt it....

The Demi Sheath by i-Mobile for those moment only backside protection is needed......

    Sorry one of them days!~

The wife is on the Thai Facebook group will get her to post there and see what comes back.

  12. Does anyone know if there is an alternative case for the IQX only the ugly gel one does not protect the screen.

Asked when I bought it yesterday but was told because the phone is so new there are no alternatives.

Awesome phone and still can not believe how thin it is....

  13. $395 for a tiny piece of a tree ? Monk(ey) business, making money out of simpleminded people's superstitioness is as bad as black magic how dare you. 'Fake' / 'real' / 'antique' my @ss they are as 'real' as superstitioness is based on facts. Farangs should be wiser because they are educated.

An ignorant man ages like an ox. His flesh may increase, but not his understanding.

A fool who recognises his own ignorance is thereby in fact a wise man, but a fool who considers himself wise -- that is what one really calls a fool.

  14. I looked on all floors but one shop in particular drew me in on the 3rd floor. The shop I have described. This shop had some silver jewellery from the hill tribes but what really caught my eye were the Palid Khik. I looked at them and there were dark wood and also bone ones of all different sizes.

They had one just as I imagined.

I was asking the cost (and was surprised by how high it was at the time) - the lady pointed one out to me that she thought was the best - a small dark wood one about 1.5 inches long - just as I had imagined!

Maybe THAT is the one I should rent!

Trouble is, I was also drawn to the small bone ones.... Maybe I should go back and see again. See what I feel.

Now you understand what I mean when I say you don't choose it chooses you........

  15. So, these Palid Khik I saw... although not 50,000,000, only 6,500 in comparison (!) should I still expect to know a bit of history behind them? Or do you think they are just being sold as ornaments? (and if so, what justifies 6,500 for one?)

    Thanks.

Kinda have to be careful on what I say in a non Buddhist/Amulet forum as I have been jumped on before by people that dont believe.

I personally believe the Amulet chooses you it doesn't get picked by you. I will happily explain off line!

At the end of the day its how you feel when you hold the Amulet. If you feel nothing then its not for you but if you are lucky you will feel something and trust me you will know when it happens. The advantage of a Palad Khik is they don't have to be looked after the same as a typical Amulet and can be carried anywhere on the body whereas a Amulet with a Buddha image on can never be carried in your pocket or worn below the waist. Like most Thai's keep mine on my keyring.

Curious how on earth you decided upon a Palad I have never seen another Farrang with one!

  16. Cool. You've done some good research. At the moment I'm happy with the phone. I just have a problem with the launcher failing / not responding every now and again. But turn it off and on and its fine smile.png

    Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE Q6

Combination of interest in Android and a bit of idle time right now.

I did something to her phone which really screwed things. Started getting "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" tried absolutely everything but could not fix it 100% even full resets would not cure it. As the phone had been rooted I was expecting them to refuse to upgrade the firmware to V9 which also replaces the recovery.img so I got ready to flash it myself!

Have you had a look at Nova Launcher (LINK) I installed it on my tablet works fine......

  17. Hello mate wondered how long it would be till you commented!

Its BS but there are JB ROM's out there that people report to working fine but it means the possibility of losing your warranty.........

Just so other i-Style Q6 users know the phone is know by various different names helpful when searching for 'stuff' on the web.
