Why would someone need a wise transfer?
Almost any bank can transfer bank to bank, or if not a direct wire is universally accepted as a last resort.
Maybe 4to 5 baht more on the exchange rate might be a factor

If you live in Thailand or familiar with folk doing transfers (especially larger amounts) then the options have been done to death.
Just did a search for transfer.
Did not hand pick. The first one was from UK.
Note WISE was formally Transferwise.
Wise give virtually the actual exchange rate whereas banks give a far inferior exchange rate .I think I saved £500 recently by using wise

If you are obtaining a non O in your own country you won't have an issue in opening a bank account.
Kasikorn (one example) will open an account if you have a non O.
Ok I always assumed that I had to get a COR to open an account

An agent will open a bank account without certificate of residence.
Do you want to open a bank account or obtain certificate of residence for example TDL.
It would be to open a bank account and I will probably be in Pathum Thani but recently someone commented about how awkward they were with him and referred to uk embassy who don’t do COR .My stepdaughter is a teacher so I could use her as a reference and maybe make it easier at the bank hopefully.I just don’t want to sell my house ,leave uk, on a non o and find that I can’t get COR and open an account.I was hoping that anyone who uses Pathum Thani IO could confirm whether there are agents hanging around looking for business. As one person said if I go into Bangkok I will have the issue of getting the information from them on the same day I do an extension of stay
thanks

Are there agents that hang around basically every IO in Thailand offering services ?My specific one is Pathum Thani because I have recently seen a comment on here they aren’t very helpful when asking for a certificate of residency

So for clarity...
What happened?
Did you open a bank account?
What is your status in Thailand.
What were the requirements to open account in Chiang Rai region?
Sorry if I was vague but I didn’t open one or ask what was required I was just pointing out the difference in attitude compared to others experiences

I had exactly the same issue with Pathum Thani immigration recently. Went to get certificate of residence and they wouldn't do it, saying I have to get it from my embassy.
According to the British Embassy website they don't issue these documents either!
So I'm currently at a bit of a loss as to how to get this document. Any suggestions would be welcome...
Thanks for the info because that was going to be my IO and I would need one to get a bank account

I bought an hatari one for 2500 and put ice gel into the bottom .Certainly blows out a nice cool breeze if directly in front it you but probably doesn’t alter the overall temperature

I did it on my iphone and it was fairly easy to crop the photos to the right size

I have been going back and fore from the UK for touching 25 years, must be over 40 trips now with a multitude of airlines, EVA a few times, and can't ever remember not being checked quite thoroughly. Different localities may well be less thorough.
I was denied boarding one time for being 2 weeks short of 6 months on my passport. I asked for a supervisor and she said only option was to phone Thai immigration in Bangkok. I was only going for 3 weeks and they agreed to boarding if the airline could confirm it was a return ticket, not sure how a throwaway would have worked in that situation.
There was a guy on here obviously American who said that they never check in uk doh

No. The O-A is a pre approved one year stay for retirement entry. The O visa only allows 90 day entry and can be issued for many reasons in either single 90 day stay or multi entry (valid for one year from date of issue) any number of stays up to 90 days each.
Is it available in the uk

Is this not a non o-a visa ?

Take it from me the EVA staff asked me straight away to see my Evisa so don’t take any notice of anyone who says they don’t check

Airlines don't care about a visa per se, they know you will get 30 day visa exempt on arrival (assuming you're flying on a UK passport). They do care if you have an outward flight within that timeframe (the fact you can get a 30 day extension to the visa exempt is irrelevant). So ...
i.e. if your flight isn't flexible, you can buy a throwaway ticket for approx US$10-15 or, just have it set up on your phone ready to buy if asked for at check-in (not 100% guaranteed you will be, depends on airline and airport but a very good chance you will be).
For example:
etc.
The OPs return flight will be after 58 days in Thailand.I think he believes he can just turn up at Heathrow and say that he will get an extension and they will let him board but they won’t
