BA have not flown out of Bangkok for months but, as it stands at the moment, might resume in October. But even that info is months old, made at the time they stopped flights. Others might have more up to date info on them.

Just cargo flights these days. BKK - LHR BA3598 for April.

I don't think this is the case nowadays.

My niece travelled about a month ago, half empty plane and empty airport, through in a jiffy

Passengers are still being carried on the Sunday TG910/TG911 flights on a Sunday. The last set of figures available. for Feb, are for 1600+ passengers carried on the 4 flights pairs. Figures not available for the individual flights. Interestingly they have changed to a larger B777-300ER since April 4. They have also been flying on a flying on a Thursday since February using a B777-200ER. Not bookable on the Thai website so must be cargo only. Many airlines are using passenger aircraft for cargo only flights.

Interestingly there were 2 extra flights using B777-300ERs on Monday and Tuesday this week. One can only speculate he purpose of these flights. Chemical and equipment flights for Siam Bioscience ? I doubt they are Songran specials but who knows.

FYI The Mutant variation is called the UK Variant because it was first discovered in the UK.

It was discovered by Scientist who were checking on samples supplied from around the Globe

Why was it discovered in the UK ? Because the UK has the ability and the skills to detect all these Mutations.

Being done at the Sanger Institute in Cambridge. CNN had a nice piece about it and how it was genomic testing on an industrial scale. Normally used for cancer research in the old days.

Wrong on every level. All Brits on being given their first dose have been given an appointment for their 2nd dose. Next month will see a dramatic rise in the numbers having had their 2nd dose. They are now vaccinating the over 40s. All adults will have been given the opportunity of having the vaccine during July. By October all will have had the opportunity of having had the 2nd dose.

Just to clarify the point on 2nd dose, I was told that my 2nd dose,1st 19 Feb, of Astrazenica would happen between end of April and mid May. My wife had the Pfizer 1 week later and she would get her 2nd by the end of April. Like the first dose one will receive a letter and/or a text inviting you to book an appointment.

Moderna jabs will be available before the end of April and the Novavax should be approved soon. Novavax is manufactured in Billingham with 'fill and finish' at the GSK facility in county Durham. So no interference from the EU hampering supplies.

Is it when the leaves fall off the trees?

Yes. The change of colours to the leaves in temperate climates is very photogenic. Unfortunately falling leaves do cause problems to blocking drainage systems and also on rail tracks where they can get compacted onto the rails causing loss of traction. In the UK there are special trains that run in the autumn cleaning the track.

  7. An Aortic Aneurism is a bulge or swelling in the main bllod vessel that runs from your heart to your stomach. In England, not sure about the other nations, it is offered to all men when they reach 65. I had mine 2 weeks ago and it consists of s ultra sound scan. Takes 5 minutes and they tell you there and then what they find.

    From NHS web site -

An AAA will often cause few or no obvious symptoms, but if it's left to get bigger, it could burst and cause life-threatening bleeding inside your tummy.

About 8 in every 10 people who have a burst AAA die before they get to hospital or do not survive emergency surgery to repair it.

Screening can pick up an AAA before it bursts. If an AAA is found, you can choose to have regular scans to monitor it or surgery to stop it bursting.

The screening test is very quick, painless and reliable. Research suggests it can halve the risk of dying from an AAA.

    Nonsense.

There were ( at the time, April thru Oct i think ) only 3 repatriation flights per month for Thai nationals ( with 50 farangs per flight who met the criteria ) to return to thailand, let's say 300 Thai's per flight time 3, that's 900 per month, you don't think there was more than that trying to get home?

I think the commercial flights started about October, since then it's become straight forward.

Correct on all counts. Flight information was communicated via the Facebook page of the embassy, which is the principle method for them to communicate with Thai nationals on what's going on generally. There was some serious comments, in Thai, about the whole system being a lottery and a joke. My wife talked to a woman, at check-in, who had been trying to get back since March from Ireland.

Not sure about the precise number of Thais in the UK but the general estimate that its between 50k to 75k and this would include students. 2021 is census year in the UK and I believe its still due to go ahead.

Interesting option. £80 in total to get it done without having to leave your home is not so bad.

I would be interested to know if the cert they email to customers looks the part, in the sense of not causing any problem when presented to Immigration Officers in Bangkok. Would it, for instance, still pass muster if you only have a black & white printer?

If anyone is willing to post their certificate image here, I am sure quite a few of us would be curious to see it.

My wife used them back in September for a Thai repat flight. While waiting with her for check-in I noticed quite a few others had used them. They were on the Thai Embassy's list. The certificate was sent as a PDF attachment to your email. The only colour on the form was their logo. B&W shouldn't be a problem. The telephone check took under 10 minutes.

Not having to travel indeed cuts the cost down.

  10. Thai were probably looking at the B787s from Norwegian following the collapse of Norwegian Air UK, 13 B787-9, and Norwegian Long Haul, 8 B787-8 & 13 B787-9. All RR Trent engines. Probably hoping for cheap deals but whether you can get the finance when bankrupt is questionable. Just reconfiguring an a/c internally to be compatible with their current fleet is also not cheap.
