  1. There are any number of Klong up here in the rice paddies (and in Bangkok for that matter) choked up with vegetation, litter and every other sort of waste so why will this be any different?
  2. If he is serious ACT Secretary-General Mana Nimitmongkol had better be watching his back. If I remember rightly "Big Joke" has been severely threatened in the past with shots fired into his car and demotions/relocations.
  3. At least common sense prevails on one side of the globe! What did the Thai Military think the outcome was going to be? After the Germans refused to power their proposed Chinese submarines.
  4. Surely no half smart vendor would try to pass off a pineapple (closest example I can come up with) as a Durian. AND who pays 500 Baht for them?
  5. What's the difference between that and being told the victim had been shot or stabbed etc. as seen every day!
  6. I remember 22 years ago some guy wrote a book called "Private Dancer". Should have been compulsory reading for every Farang entering the Kingdom. Would have been an opportunity for the author to write another on the hassards of the Thai roads!
  7. And the minister for watches and all things corrupt will probably fall asleep through the so so investigation procedure! Wot a joke this oxygen thief is.
  8. One thing for sure, charges are rising sharply. Here in the rice paddies of upper Isaan gone from 4.344 to 5.4098 Baht. The "red shirts" are really pissed off!
  9. Correct! There have been any number of reputable references to these statistics, over the 20 plus years I have lived here, in these forums and others. Where is the contradictory (urban myth) evidence?
  10. But for the obscure way Thai's record statistics only the 4 who died at the scene will be added to the road carnage register!!!!????
  11. Naa! Not in the same ball park as my Mums home made stews.
  12. Way to go, drown the courts in paper and string out the procedure until the "statute of limitations" has passed.
  13. You obviously have NO idea how this payment relates to the OP. TW (a salaried employee of the Amphor) is the co-ordinator for some 28 volunteers in our Tambon (14 villages). The payments cover their out of pocket expenses for any number of call outs they get through the month AND there are many!!!!!!
  14. "No important documents related to legal cases ........ .." Accept for Boss "Red Bull" = Bummer "Oh well, that's fixed a big problem"!!!
  15. My "never again" experience was about 8 years ago. Obviously things have not improved. Hang the expense, I only fly Singapore Airlines to and from Australia!
  16. I could post a comment here but won't for fear of finishing up as tree fertilizer out in the rice paddies.
  17. We are in Thailand! The object of the exercise is to put the wind up em.
  18. As I do. Always carry my phone in my shirt pocket with the camera just above the crest. (Including when dealing with Imm.). Not always recording but can point to it if needed! Certainly has worked in my favour in the past.
  19. Well that's one way to get rid of these overloaded, underpowered menace's off the road. EDIT:- And, hopefully that'll be the last sign of black smoke we will see belching from this piece of garbage!
  20. 100 M Baht will buy a lot of band aids but not much of a complete make over that hulk will need!
  21. They must be tearing their hair out! I flew out of Adelaide to BKK via SIN early July last year. The check in chic demanded an insurance cert. took 15 minutes to convince her it was quashed 30th June. Pity the poor travellers lined up behind me! Thai BS continues.
  22. Agreed! The driver obviously had seen the train (too late) and tried to stop. His/Her view to the right could have been obstructed by any number of things.
  23. My first and LAST flight with them in June, UTH - BKK. Amongst other things it took longer to get into the terminal at Swampy from where the aircraft parked than the 65 minute flight.
  24. Not about security rather than frustration. Ever tried to get a cashiers cheque from a bank in this country? A few years ago I bought a new car and wanted a cheque from my bank, it took 3+ hours because I could not perfectly replicate my 20 year old signature in the back of the "BS" bank book AND to top it off I was charged a percentage of the value. A few trips to an ATM machine over a number of days would have been much easier.
