  1. The red Nissan 3rd from the left belongs to TW's nephew. He is in the process of getting it back no mention of kickbacks to the BiB at this stage.
  2. Red plates should come with a log book and usually require a deposit (if I remember it was about 3000 Baht in our case". The paper trail should be proof as to which party is at fault!
  3. "For this privilege the foreigner must invest 40 million baht in a single project and must commit to three years." No one with half a brain would do this: "Put all your eggs in one basket"!!!
  4. Oh my! The TAT loaned the TCT their calculators.
  5. I'm led to believe property identification is associated with the Chanoot Title ID and not location. I have the only number visible, in our Tambon, to the road. Really not necessary now as I'm the only Farang for miles, the postie and Kerry have known me forever.
  6. Incorrect or non existing property identification can be a problem. Many years ago we were paid a deposit on our 14 Rai of Eucalyptus by a contractor who proceeded to remove our neighbor's trees. The contractor had been to our property to evaluate the trees so I don't know what went wrong. To his credit he did compensate the neighbor after TW returned his deposit, he eventually bought ours again!
  7. IMHO, Toyota did not enter Thailand without having all their ducks in a row. They're too big for that. The Thais, as they do with we Farang, have jerked around with the "goal posts" now trying to screw the pooch. Chevrolet had no problem packing up and moving out others could well follow. I guess that is what you get when Generals, who could barely run an army, have their sticky fingers in a countries ecconomy.
  8. Look at the silt! Who changes fuel while manoeuvring in port? Having lived in the rice paddies of Isaan for the past 21 years never seen a Samui ferry but in saying that I did work in the off shore oil industry out of Sattahip for 4 years and the Thai navy vessels were cleaner than the subject ferry!
  9. They forgot the pollution control. Belching as much smoke as a Bangkok bus. Do I get the reward for "dobbing" them in?
  10. Sorry I don't fully understand what is going on here:- If the Constitution says 8 years does that only apply to legally elected Prime Ministers? I'm thinking this court is a lame duck under the current circumstances. Am I correct in saying a coup leader, muscling his way into power is not covered under Thai Law or the Constitution and Prayut is playing some sort of game, still pulling the strings. Can anyone believe that fool Prawit is any sort of mastermind??
  11. No point of having new/revised traffic laws and penalties if they are not enforced correctly without corruption!
  12. Anutin's must now be torn between two rewarding futures:- The lucrative minister for weed or depose the minister for watches and take over the lot.
  13. Aren't we still in a State of Emergency? This court can rule anything that is not going to happen!
  14. I live about 100 meters from a junior village school, the kids use the football field after school hours. 4 days ago they were assembled on the road verge, jumping out and making these strange motions with their arms as vehicles of any sort drove by. I had no idea what they were doing until reading this article. Anyway it lasted 2 days and stopped, can't say I heard a single horn sounding (well done the drivers). I'm guessing the kids got bored and went back to their football.
  15. Thai laws do not apply to Prayut, he is the law. But I expect he has had his Generals uniform dry cleaned just in case he is ousted and has to lead another coup.
  16. In an ideal world I would have to agree with you. Surely the dealer has "snatch backs" on their (or the finance company they use) inventory of similar model and age which can be transferred to the customer. She continues payments the finance company pays a few 1000 Baht in transfer fees and all are appeased.
  17. I might have had a little sympathy for him if he flew in on Air Asia, cattle class but private jet! That's taking the <deleted>.
  18. Probably parked along side all those fire fighting appliances awaiting someone to pay the graft errr import duties!
  19. I'm one, lived here for 20+ years and returned on a "Re-Entry Permit" mid July after a month away. I'll bet (illegally) TAT has salted their figures mine and others like my return!!!
  20. Really surprised to see the bird (nok) beak still on the tail, Thai's are usually quick to get out the black paint and disguise the owners identity after prangs be it bus, truck or aircraft etc.
  21. Shouldn't be to hard to find. Just let me produce all those brown envelopes I received 20 years ago wanting my bank details. Must still have some DNA on em!
  22. TAT - Oxygen thieves or dreamers? I guess ya gotta give em credit for their tenacity and creative ability.
  23. Sorry a P- (lowest pass) in my "English" finals (1966) has created such a spin off in this thread! Does it matter?
