  2. Danielson,

I can only offer advice on reason for return.

This was what we said when my wife (then GF) applied for her initial tourist visa to Oz.

We had known each other 18 months at this stage.

Our main reason for her to return was that we were serious about our relationship.

We planned on her tourist visa to Oz, being the first of many, and all going well we would be getting married later and looking for a spouse Visa.

This was the only reason that we gave for her to return to Thailand.

A breach any of her Visa requirements would jeopardise our future plans.

We declared this on the application. It was successful.

I do not know your circumstances, so cannot comment on what may be your best argument.

    Good Luck

    AT

  3. Ozzybloke,

With the incoming passenger card Question 2, it should not matter.

She could state holiday or Visit friends as the reason for her visit, and if asked both would be right.

Having said that, i have never been asked (or my wife)

Usual occupation, home duties would be fine.

As long as they do not have a reason to give you or her problems at Immigration, you should be fine.

If she is not entering Australia with prohibited items that are not declared(more a customs issue) or with her CV to get a job, she should be fine.

As your partner, she can join the "Australians and their families" line at Immigration and go through with you.

This saves a lot of stress.

Incoming passenger cards are also available in Thai at all Australian Airports.

It pays to keep a stack of these in your bag. She can fill one out i Thai, and then will have 100% understanding of what she is signing and declaring.

We came across a real ignorant Pr1ck at Immigration a while ago, who insisted on asking my wife a question about one of the items on the Card.

He spoke quietly and fast, and then gave me a serve when i tried to clarify his question for her.

In the end we were sent to the back of the line and asked to fill out a card for her in Thai.

Went to another Immigration officer, who was nice as could be.

More than a dozen trips in and out of Oz together, and only this one problem.

I am sure that things will be fine.

  4. Hi all,

I never in my wildest dreams thought that one day i would be inquiring on the internet about baby poo, but here i go...

We have a little girl about 10 weeks old.

She is well healthy, and up until now, pooing a lot.

For the last 3 days, nothing...

She is well, eating well, peeing a lot, no sign of any problem.

    But no poo.

Should we worry, or take her to the Doctor tomorrow.

As a first time parent, i do not know if this is normal, or if we should worry.

It just seems like a long time with no bowel movement for one so small.

    All serious advice appreciated.

    Regards

  5. SiamLegal,

Thanks for your post, and taking the time to do that for the general benefit of everyone.

It is people like you who take the time to post on here, that make this a better forum. :o

As with any information posted, common sense would dictate that we all read it as being general advice.

No post can be so specific that it takes into account every different scenario for each individual and possibility of changes in the future, particularly when we are dealing with legal issues in thailand.

Your post has come in for some critisism, but i did note that none of the detractors posted their legal qualifications.

Perhaps their accreditation from Khao San Rd Legal School is still coming through...

I am sure that those who have been critical of Siam Legal are at home putting together an informative article to post on the forum, for the benefit of the forum members as you are so knowledgeable.

I look forward to your informative posts and hope that others treat you with more respect that you have shown.

    SiamLegal, once again well done.

    Keep up the good work.

  6. I will use the example of my wifes family.

In my eyes they are poor. They do not have a lot of money in the bank.

They do own their home in the Village. It is 5 years old, quite nice.

    They own several farms.

They do not owe one Baht to the banks.

They have a limited education, and do not aspire to great wealth.

They are happy with what they have.

They never go hungry, and probably live better that 90% of their village.

They live off several thousand Baht a month, and live quite well. They do not want for anything.

They are not in poverty by any means.

My wife and i have discussed it and the best thing that we feel that we can do to help them, is to buy their house off them in the village.

We will pay market price. (my wife would get the house anyway in years to come)

The money will be put in a secure investment for them, providing a monthly income to suppliment what they have now.

They can live in the house free for the rest of their lives.

We will pay all of the Mtce cost etc. for the house.

  7. End of Nov to end of Jan is a busy time, so i would be looking into it sooner rather than later.

Cheap could be a difficult requirement to fill in that it is peak season.

Wifi will also cut down the option available.

Try the classifieds in the Phuket Gazette online, just google it.

One of the sponsors of this section is houseinphuket.com

Her contact details are on her web site, and she is very helpful.

    Have a great stay

  8. OP,

    Congratulations.

I hope that you are both Happy.

There are plenty out there that have been burned, as you can tell from the posts.

If you really love her, great.

Let your head(the big one) rule your heart.

If you have a Million to retire on, bring 100K to LOS.

Tell her the rest is gone.

    See how this goes down.

    good luck
