You can do a 90-day report up to 7 days after the actual due date, stamped on the receipt in your passport.

I go to Pizzeria Giotto regularly because I live nearby. It has been excellent every time. Salads and pizzas as good any I've had in Chiang Mai. They have a wood-burning oven which can only accommodate a couple of pies at a time, so you might have to wait a while when it's crowded, but I've only found it packed on a Sunday night. (I usually go fairly early - 6:30-7:30 pm for dinner.) Glad to have this place in my area - and also Salsa Kitchen, which has opened a branch just a hundred meters up the the road (3029) past Meechok Plaza.

I went to renew my license(s) from 1 year to 5 year at about 3pm on a Thursday. There were very few people. Maybe a dozen. I went to the various windows as directed. I had my copies made at the copy desk. Needed only one original Residence Certificate - a copy was accepted for the second (motorbike) license. Same for the Medical letter. Waited for my number to be called for picture-taking, and I was finished. Total time spent at the office - 25 minutes.

I rode by Zoe's at about 11pm last Saturday night. Looked pretty normal to me. Lots of young people, nothing out of the ordinary.

Mailed my 90-day report with EMS on the 4th (it was due on the 8th). Got the receipt in my mailbox on the 6th. Not bad!

One thing I did like about buying the phone from Lazada (along with the low price) was that they allowed for a free COD delivery which meant that I didn't pay anything until the delivery man showed up at my door and I was able to inspect the contents for any damage. Overall, I was pleased with the transaction, except for Xiaomi's failure to include English-language instructions. None of the cellphone shops at Central Festival in Chiang Mai carry the Xiaomi line, as of today, although there were other Chinese phones available.

I just bought a Xiaomi Mi4 from Lazada at a great price. If you read Chinese - no problem. But beware. The phone is shipped with no instructions in English and a ROM that is targeted at the Chinese market. So no Google apps. It took me hours of research on the internet to learn how to load the "global" ROM to the phone so that I could get the Google apps and other English-language apps. Now, that I have everything working, I Iike the phone very much.
If you buy the phone in India (or from an Indian website) or in Malaysia or Singapore you'll get the "global" ROM pre-installed. Xiaomi has not officially targeted Thailand as yet.

I got both car and motorbike licenses in Chiang Mai with just one current residency certificate and a copy. The certificate was 500 baht, but had to return the next day to pick it up. It's free if you're willing to wait a month.

God! Even in Cambodia these farangs die either naked or in their undies! Seriously??????
Yes, death seems to be a "come as you are" party.

I watched the fight and heard both fighters give their interviews immediately after the fight. Manny said that he thought he had won the fight. Later, he apparently said that Floyd won the fight, acceding to the ruling of the judges. So, I guess he really thought he had won, but was graciously accepting the ruling.
Also, immediately after the fight, Floyd said that he will fight again in September as per his TV and other contracts.
-
I think Mayweather said he will fight one more time in September as part of his TV/etc. contracts. $$$
$$$.

It's amazing. Some ring-side tickets at the MGM Grand cost $300,000 a seat for that so-called "fight". Could have helped a lot of starving people in Nepal.

According to this chart from the Thai Meteorological Dept. today's high in Chiang Mai was 37.5.

I didn't think a solar cell (or dozens of them, for that matter) could produce nearly enough current to power an air conditioner. Who makes these?

I went to Jomtien Immigration last Wed ( 01-04-15 ) to obtain my 8th Retirement Extention this time using the Income Verification Letter from the British Embassy.
I arrived at 9-10 am with all the req'd paper work duly signed, was greeted by a very polite Lady Officer, who completed my application by 9-25 am, & asked me to come back the next day (Thurs ) after 10 am.
All in all, a pleasant experience, also the Immigration Office on both days was less than half full, as opposed to being packed out for the last 6 months+
Well good luck to you but this is the Chiang Mai forum and maybe a little too far for us to go.
Not too far if you want excellent service
I wasn't trying to hijack the Chiang Mai forum, but just saying that if you go with the right attitude,& correct paper work, & are clean shaven, well groomed & are polite & show the Immigration Officers respect at any of the Immigration Officers, then you shouldn't have any problems at all.
But I see all too often at the Jomtien office, people unshaven, with their 'chang" vests on & an ignorant attitude towards the Immigration Officers wondering why they get told to go away & come back properly dressed.
The Officers both Men & Ladies at the Jomtien Office are showing respect to you being always well dressed, with clean uniforms on, is it too much to ask to show them the same respect.
But you had to make two trips to the Jomtien office to get your extension? How far from the office are you?

And you'll know it's April Fool's Day when you see this:

Yeah, wow! A 10% decrease in the excise tax! That should help sell a lot of cars.
Have they ever heard of subsidies?
-
I believe Bake 'n Bite is closed until April 5th.

Hagen Das is from New Jersey........ never k ew that.
Not only that, the name "Hagen Das" is total jibberish concocted by the founder of the company, who wanted a name that sounded "scandinavian".

And, unfortunately, mini-buses also get into trouble on the road to Pai.

I used an agent.. Now I' wish I had saved the 5500baht. I can fill out the TM7 and make copies myself. Having to wait until 5-6pm to get the passport back or make a THIRD trip to pick it up? No thanks. Next year I'll check-out the agent next to immigration.
