The same old bored farang jealous of people who are here on tourist visas keeps on creating new accounts and fake denied / almost denied first posts.

Man, the Mods really need to ban this same old dude on a retirement visa setting up all these new accounts and troll posting these nonsense crap about being denied entry all over Thailand on a tourist visa. Old dude has nothing better to do with his time than to post troll nonsense on every new account with one post.

Someone must have really bad vision to leave a CLEAR plastic bag full of cash on the side of the street. Probably thought it was full of rubbish and left it on the side of the street for the garbage truck people to come and pick it up

I am looking for an honest and aggressive lawyer in or around Pattaya. Most are, well you know what I mean, eh unreliable. At this juncture I want him or her to do searches ie in the Courts, DBD Office, Land Office etc.
Could somebody please recommend a diligent and smart lawyer who is not afraid to go where other lawyers fear to tread if you get my drift. Thanks in advance.
Honest & aggressive lawyers. That's an oxymoron.

Why hasn't the Mods moved this topic into the Money, Banking & Investments section as this clearly has nothing to do with Visas. Mods, are you asleep at the wheel for a week already? OP wants to know where he can get the best ROI on his 800k money

Did the Thai man mistake the Thai woman for a male Indian tourist somehow?

200 million should cover it assuming he lives to a ripe old age. That includes self insuring and any medical bills in later life.
At least 350 million baht of the OP's friend shouldn't even consider coming to Pattaya

Hello, what happens when I overstay one or two days on a tourist visa? I have
1000 baht fine and/or potential lockup in immigration detention if caught on overstay.

Yeah stay as long as you like, why bother following immigration rules?
Note: you have 90 days which includes arrival and departure days. You do have 3 months
90 days isn't exactly 3 months. 31 days + 30 days + 31 days = 92 days in total for a 3 month period.

No not dodgy, attended classes and all that, but just with history of stay in Thailand and now wanting to return visa exempt after 3 months out of the country I trust I will not have issues entering.
I don't see any issues with that

Thank you all. Yes a bit concerned about history, but will be out of country just over 3 months when I enter again.
Why are you concerned about having an ED visa? Lots of people have had ED visas in the past, or was yours something dodgy to be concerned about?

Hi, how are you identified at immigration at airport, more specifically Bangkok airport? With passport number? I have read countless times that even if you have a new passport all your information is on the immigration system. When renewing passport your passport number change so how exactly are you identified?
Just something that's been puzzling me.
I would hope they identify me as a "man" when entering an airport or a land border crossing. I do tick the "Male" checkbox on the TM6 arrival card when entering by land. Hope they aren't identifying me as a female, ladyboy, or any of these pronouns that's going around these days.

A woman claiming to be suffering from depression was caught on camera assaulting another woman and her eight-month-old baby in a prominent Thai shopping mall. The incident, which occurred on January 7, was reported on a social media page, sparking public outrage.
Might be nice to mention which shopping mall it was at rather than just a vague "prominent Thai shopping mall"

No the one thing that you've gotten wrong here is that once you pay that fee it is the immigration agent who has committed fraud, and that fraud is entirely on them, not me. My visa is completely legitimate and the agent is the one who's entirely vulnerable. At least in theory.
Why was it when people were using agents for dodgy visas like volunteering visas and doing fake visa runs where the foreigner stays in Thailand but the agent takes the passport to get stamped with dodgy stamps, why was it always the foreigner gets in trouble and has issues down the line, not these agents?

If the Imm officers go by the Law and don't take any gifts than using an agent if you haven't got the 800K is Illegal.
I just hope that will happen one day, Less Corruption.
Yep, too many dodgy folks here on this forum willing to bribe their way out of everything.

We will plan to talk to both an agent and immigration as soon as possible and be completely honest with them. I think that's better than trying to hide it and risk having to leave quickly. And if they ask for a "fee" to fix things, that's on them. We won't be bribing them. And my conscience will be clean. :)
Then don't bother with an agent, because you will certainly be doing something illegal, dodgy and fraud. Don't talk BS that you "are keeping your conscience clean" when you are bribing immigration officers via bribes paid to an agent. What a load of BS you wrote about keeping your conscience being kept clean when you clearly know bribes will be involved.
If you're not looking to do anything illegal, you won't be renewing your retirement visa as you were below the 800k and the only way to fix this is via bribes. So your option is to leave the country and get an alternative visa.

No, they will not be reasonable. I found myself in the same position you will simply have to pay a fee to either an agent at the office or an outside agent, in my particular case I had to pay a 10,000 baht fee to get them to do fake bank statements. I dealt with an officer right at the office. They are nearly all crooked.
If committing fraud to produce false documents, instead of paying an agent to commit fraud on your behalf, couldn't the OP or you in this case just make fake bank statements yourself and save yourself the 10,000 baht? I guess you'd need to be decent with Photoshop or a similar computer program. Benefits being 10k saved and you are still committing a crime of fraud either way but you have an extra 10k in your pocket at the end of the day.

My place has someone in the office all day facing the lobby and also security right at the door all night. They eyeball everyone coming or going. I used to work in an institutional setting so that's probably why it bothers me.
I'd be more worried about the multiple tiny hidden cameras they've got set up in your bathroom and bedroom. You get one of those hidden security scanner things to find them asap.

You have to re-register? Are you certain? Re-register with a new website, that makes sense. But having to re-register after leaving the country? That is AWFULLY advanced. Can this "technology" also help 2 databases be able to talk to each other? EDIT: Oh, I get it. The person across from you has simply made that determination and won't accept your old one.
Yes, I'm certain. I've asked Jomtien Immigration two times already each time I've gone to do a TM30 and they've said the exact same thing.
