Wow, Thailand as a holiday destination just lost a few points. No way would I pay $300 for a 60 day visa to go anywhere (especially when 30 days visa exempt is free)

Vietnam US$25 for 90 days looking much better value

What happened with the previous talk that visa exempt was to be changed to 90 days visa exempt for all those 30 day visa exempt passport countries?

We now got confirmation from Royal Thai Embassy in Doha,  increase as of March 1 but not near so steep increase.

    Single tourist visa 1700.

    See attachment:Doha-Announcement_Consular_Fee-3.pdf

METV - 750 Qatari Riyal is about $314 Aussie Dollars. So basically an increase of 5% only. No need for anyone here to get their panties in a twist over a 5% price increase, if that's all true.

When did you serve in a Navy and did you "end up banging hookers and getting some pregnant?"

We all know of the stories from the past of them banging hookers in Pattaya and other locations around the world.

A young man stuck on a ship with tons of other dudes at sea for long period of time, then they come to Disneyland with women everywhere, they have some free time for R&R so they make the most of it before they get locked up on the ship again with a bunch of dudes again. Not to mention the peer pressure from their mates.

Thai Embassy in Canberra, Australia, raised the visa fees last September 2022, was that not worldwide?

    https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/fees/

No they didn't, that's an absolute lie.

METV was and still is $300. It's been like that for a number of many years already.

SETV was and still is $60. It's been like that for a number of many years already too.

US military service personnel arrived Friday night in Pattaya for a little rest and relaxation. I hope the bar ladies are friendly and accommodating providing unspeakable pleasures.

Makes you wonder how stupid these wifes/gfs of navy must be. Everyone knows whenever they go to a foreign country most of them end up banging hookers and getting some pregnant. Why the hell would any smart woman marry or become a gf to someone in the military?

Fly to Udon Thani, mini bus to Friendship bridge at Nong Khai. 200 baht. Cross into Laos visa on arrival 50 dollars. Return to Thailand at your leisure 60 days on re entry. Would recommend spending a little time in Laos much nicer people there

If you take the 200 baht minibus option, is there a long wait involved until they get enough passengers to completely fill up the minibus?

Finally Pattaya Police are starting to fine and remove illegally parked vehicles. This is one of most popular places they love chaining the vehicles together then hauling them away a few at a time. No parking in the red bus stop areas! Location is beach road just south of the Hilton.

Lots of cars park on the beach side of Beach Rd, in fact a massive line of cars do that. And we all know it's illegal to park on that side of the road, causing traffic congestion. Why aren't the cops locking those vehicles and towing them away?

I guess this thread shows the age of many members here. Many of us remember the good old times from 20 or more years ago. But few of us know what is currently happening late at night...

I'm not in BKK for quite a number of years already but ask me about the clubs in Pattaya in the past year and I've got you covered on where to go.

It's some time ago that I was out until 1am or longer. Getting old and all that.

I live in lower Sukhumvit and sometimes I am out at 6:30 in the morning and I see lots of people who look like they just stopped partying.

What bars, clubs or whatever are open until dawn in that area?

I don't want to go there at 4am, I am just interested in what is going on.

It's probably all those cocktail cars on the footpaths on lower Sukhukvit. Once the clubs close, those still are open.

There was the firetrap absolute craphole opposite Spicy club that was apparently owned by the cops. I think it was called Swing. Is that craphole still around?

How much do you pay per unit of electricity?

Condo's are notorious for padding electricity bills.

How so? Every condo I lived in, the bill comes from MEA or PEA. Are you saying the MEA or PEA are padding electricity bills of condos?

Interesting.....is it really only 250kms from Pattaya to the Cambodia border, as per what's written on that visa run company's website? That's only double the distance than Pattaya to BKK airport, which is 123kms, according to Google.
