I assume you meant this message that comes up on their website.
It is assumed that it means their extranet is down and none of the sites on it are working (90 day and TM30 reporting).
I have seen reports of immigration stating March 15th is when it will be up again. But correct or not I do not know.
OK, thanks.
I've been using this for my 90 day reporting for a long time, guess I have to go to the immigration office this time.

The Thai immigration web site is under "Temporary Maintenance". Anyone know how long this has been going on and when it will be open again?

In the end the question is what do these jet-skis add to the Phuket tourist business?
Personally I hear much more people cursing these jet-skis than liking them. A lot of people do not want to return to Phuket because of these things and some search for smaller beaches where they do not exist.
The sum of it all is that jet-skis is a net negative for the Phuket tourist trade and only benefit a few people.

The only irregularity is that you MUST have a valid Thai helmsman's ticket to drive these things and none of the tourists renting these have this license.
People renting out motorcycles are required to make sure the renters have a license and the renters will be fined if they ride a motorcycle without a valid motorcycle license.

120km/h for cars with LESS than 7 seats and 100 km/h for cars with MORE than 7seats.
What about all the SUVs, like Fortuner that have 7 seats???

The faster you drive the less time you spend on the road the less accidents you have, makes perfect sense.

Well the cask/box/bladder wine is made to satisfy need at the bottom end of the market and because it's in the bladder (collapsible container if you wish) no air can get in, so the wine doesn't go off, although research does show that there is a slight ingress of air, but over 6 weeks, which is supposed to be the life of that wine, it doesn't make a great deal of difference.
Wine in these casks is not quality wine and is not meant to age at all, as it is for immediate drinking, and it is also a useful medium for getting rid of an overproduction of wine in some years, so that the winemaker is not left with stuff that they can't move.
True enough, some cask wine can stay on the shelves too long and once shipping is taken into consideration, it's quite possible that the wine can deteriorate/go off, and I know because I have tasted some of it.
For some folks on a budget, this type of wine might be okay, but at least you know what you are getting – – a cheap, low quality, perhaps fruity wine which is meant for nothing other than quaffing and is a very popular accompaniment for barbecues in both Australia and New Zealand.
The problem in Thailand is the cheaper is better mentality. All box wines here are the cheapest of the cheap and still not worth buying.
Over the years a few good box wines have been available. These were around 1500Baht per 3l box. Due to the price these were very short lived as cheaper is better.
Personally I would not mind buying a good wine box for 1500 to 2000Baht, just for the convenience of being able to have the occasional good glass of wine.

And it would still taste like old socks.
Craft beer suffers from two huge issues, one being the taste as most of it tastes foul, the other being availability.
I know I can walk into just about any bar anywhere in the world and order a mass produced lager and it will taste great.
But even if I find a craft beer that is palatable, I won't be able to buy it everywhere I go. I won't even be able to get it in different craft beer bars. I may even go to the craft beer bar I first tried it at, only to find they've decided to have 12 totally different beers on tap.Taste is individual. Your mass produced beer (Heineken?) will always be available and taste the same all over the world. To me it taste like nothing. For others it would be nice with a variety of different beers.

Actually, there are many craft beers brewed in Thailand and you can often witness the brewing process in many local breweries. I will not state any specific example to protect the brewers’ privacy but they are represented by the Craft Beer Association (although I guess I can name the Tawangdand breweries as an example as they are big and have multiple locations... but there are many many other places...).
You are absolutely correct. These breweries are allowed to brew a certain amount of beer at a certain alcohol level. The problem is that they can only sell this beer for consumption on the premises, Hopf in Pattaya comes into mind. The problem is that they are not allowed to sell their beer retail.

I think the best verification would be to go there and look...
It's the duty of the police and public prosecutor to take the investigation forward, if complainants sign or not should have no implication.

Thailand have craft beer but they are banned from brewing them in Thailand. The big breweries have forced the government to implement a law that makes it illegal to brew beer in Thailand unless you brew a very large amount of beer, this makes it impossible for the Thai craft beer companies to make beer in Thailand.
All Thai craft beer is brewed outside Thailand in Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia and other places at great cost and import duties. This is why you can not find any craft beer here under around 120 Baht per bottle. If they were allowed to brew in Thailand you would possibly be able to find a fine IPA for around 50 Baht.

Problem is that most of the best helmets (and most reputable brands) are not TIS approved.
My Caberg Duke Legend, bought in Thailand, got EU certification + 5 stars on https://sharp.dft.gov.uk but got no TIS certification,
My other helmet, Arai, doesn't have TIS certification...
... while lots of very basic helmets (Thai brands made in Thailand) get TIS certification
Sorry, but I won't trust helmets that can only pass Thai certifications
All the best helmets that has been legally imported have been TIS approved. There is a big grey market in Thailand with helmets that have been imported without being approved to avoid tax and duty. They are still very good but not legal as they have bypassed the approval to make them cheaper.
-
I don't understand what the problem is, according to the law you have to use a helmet with a TIS sticker on it. If there is no TIS sticker the helmet is not approved and you should be fined.

Good idea but should also then scrap all requirements for a compulsory insurance. If they lost around 400milj bat and have 40milj visitors (2019) all they need is a 10baht tax.
They estimate 10milj visitors in 2021 so 40baht should cover it and losses will be lower with less tourists.

Crazy rule about alcohol.
What they want to avoid is a group of people getting noisy, singing and dancing. Which happens when you mix khun Thai and alcohol. A farang sitting in a deck chair having a beer should be no problem when it comes to covid 19.
The problem is that they ban the alcohol and not the behavior. You can still be a small group on the beach getting noisy, singing and dancing.
That is the same as banning motorbikes to reduce traffic accidents instead of endorsing all the traffic laws that still excists

you could tamp down corruption and actually pay thai police by just enforcing the laws they have now that would make roads safer. My biggest one is how little respect people have for a light turning red, especially when turning left/right. they just go by the thai custom of once someone turns everyone gets to turn. I live in korat city and every single day at the major intersection in the middle of the city someone runs the red light(turning left or right) EVERY SINGLE TIME. Thats 1 violation every minute, for at least 10 hours a day. at 500 baht a ticket thats 300000 baht in a single day at just ONE INTERSECTION.
i know it will never happen, because its just too logical to do and also would involve thai police doing actual work.
Just for your info, they just cut the fine for running a red light from 500Baht to 200Baht !!!!!!
Most other fines for traffic offenses were also cut by about 50%

5 days and 316 dead and nothing is done. There are no checkpoints, no red light cameras, police sitting at crossings only look at their mobile phone while people are driving against red light all the time. In Pattaya very few use a helmet noways because no checkpoints, but most have a face mask.
After 10 months and 62 dead the country and economy is pretty much closed down???

Songkran Festival without Water Splashing
in Thailand News
Posted
Why not take the opportunity to bring songkran back to the origins where younger people show their respect for the elderly by bathing their hands and feet.
The crazy water war of today has nothing to do with Thai traditions.
