  1. I have consumed far too many burgers at Mos Burger in BKK. I have always found them to be excellent. A bit on the small side so I just order a 2nd one if still hungry. Their fries are great....always fresh and hot. Buns are perfect and all in all a great value for the money. You might also want to try the clam chowder, very good. A cup of soup, burger and fries and you are good to go. It is a very well run franchise and the consistency is always there. I cant wait until they get here to Patts.

  2. Check out thejomtienbeachresidence.com......well built and well run...it is about a year old and just 50 metres from the beach. It has a pool,gy, and wifi...located on soi 9 off jomtien beach rd

  3. I have been taking advantage of these "discounted" checkups for the last 5 years. I think that they are a good value and the service has always been good. I am also not a big fan of BPH but for this it is fine. My only complaint would be the Dr. you see after all the results have come back. He just seems disinterested and going thru the motions. I have rectified this by choosing an internist to go over all my test results. They gladly accomodated me on this request.

  4. Thanks Mook....was in there 2 times last week for the ham and cheese sandwich.....very tough to beat that sandwich for 65 baht.....excellent bread....big sandwich and a bargain at that price. Do you know if they offer any other sandwiches there?

  5. dental hospital bangkok.....sukhumvit soi 49.....by far the best in BKK..........dentalhospitalbangkok.com...they are very good and expensive by thailand standards. I have found their work there to be top notch and my father is a dentist in the states, so I am very picky

  6. I was looking into a trip to Bali with my 19 yr old son sometime in March or April and am seeing flights now on AirAsia for 3150baht roundtrip. They now fly nonstop to Bali from BKK. Anyone know if April would be better than March as far as the rainfall goes.

  7. I would go to see Dr. Natapat at Apex Profound Beauty. She is probably the #1 dermatologist in Thailand and was schooled at Northwestern Univ. in Chicago. She only comes to Pattaya about once a month but she has every laser there is and knows what she is doing. Apex is located inside Royal Garden on the 2nd floor in the corner. She isnt cheap but I just dont trust these storefront clinics. Her schooling and experience are unmatched in Pattaya

  8. I would recommend taking a long look at Jomtien Beach Condo. I have lived here for 3 yrs and also own 4 units I rent out. The location is great as it is very quiet yet close to all the necessities. The management has been here for 10 yrs and the place is very well run. The maintenance is probably the cheapest in town and the staff is great and the grounds and pools always clean. I you woul like, feel free to message me and maybe I can help you find a place here.

  9. My father is a board certified endodontist(root canal specialist) in the US and has also taught root canal at a major university in the US. I have lived here in Thailand for many years and the only place I go for dental work is the dentalhospital bkk..it is located on Sukhimvit Soi 49. I would only have a endodontist do my root canal. Most dentists have some training in this field and will do it instead of referring you to a qualifie specialist. They are very expensive but the quality of work there is excellent. They have been written up all over these boards as the best for denat in thailand............good luck and dont be too concerned about the price as this is a procedure that can be easy or very difficult. I would prefer to have the best dentist doing it in case you run into a problem.

  10. Cherries on 3rd road across from Xcyte Disco would be a great selection. The dining room is very nice and the food is very good and not too expensive. They offer a continental menu and also have a good wine selection. I assure you it will be a great evening.

  11. Now back to the original posters questions....Tara Court is a nice building and is very well located. I have a friend renting a 1 br there and it is nice. He is paying 25k a month but you might do better on a 1 yr lease. There are many rentals here in the 25-30k month range. Make sure you are in a building that has security and indoor parking. If you want something furthur down in Jomtien you can look at jomtienbeachresidence.com......another one that is a bit more high end is nirvana place. These are all serviced type apartments. Renting on a 1 yr lease here puts you at a good advantage as you can cut some good deals. Hope this helps

  12. I can highly recommend the Residence Garden Hotel. It isnt in the middle of Pattaya but a short way to Walking St. If you mention the FLB rate I believe it is 1400 baht a day. The room is 52 sq met. and is a 2 room suite with a small kitchen. Very nice pool and a good breakfast although not included. I have stayed there many times and think its the best deal for the money in town...has a safe in the room and 2 tv's as well. It is located on the way to Jomtien just past the 3rd road overpass...where captain corner bbq is. Hope this helps

  13. I can recommend Cherries restaurant in Pattaya. It is on 3rd rd...accross from Excite Disco. They serve a great filet, that includes a really nice salad bar for 260 baht. It is a high class restaurant as the owner worked at Brunos here for 10 yrs. I think you can pay more for something a bit better...but I am convinced this is a great meal for the money

  14. You can get re-entry permit at the airport on the way out.

    The question is:

Will you be back here before the date of your yearly renewal?

Because if not you need to go to immigration & make arrangements.

My retirement vusa is due for renewal on Nov.1 and I will be travelling to the US in september and will return early october. I think i will go to immigtation and get the re-entry soon as long as it is valid for some time

  15. I currently live here in Thailand and have a retirement visa. I have been here for 3 years and have never left the country. I am going to the US in 1 month and was wondering how far in advance I need to purchase my single entry to come back here without voiding my retirement visa. I was also wondering what the cost is. I hope my info about just needing a single entry to return is correct. Thank You
