Burger King has a nice Vegie burger. Will that help you out?
If I would not avoid them already, now would be the time for a total boycott
I only had one the other day so I am not as far along in addiction to them as you are. How ever I will have one from time to time in the future.

> glutenfree oats and lactose free milk
Also, non-beef hamburgers, alcohol-free beer, low carb crackers and fat-free fries.
Bliss.
Burger King has a nice Vegie burger. Will that help you out?
To be honest it is really good a bit on the spicy side.

THANKS ALL!
I've devised 3 plans, all thanks to your contributions.
Wisdom is actually available on Thaivisa, it appears, sometimes, after culling.
PLEASE CLOSE SUBJECT
After all this advice posters have given you, some involving great expense, at least you could tell us what are your 3 plans?
Completely agree with you.
Ask a very good question get many good answers and refuse to tell any one.

Utterly shameful and disgusting using this terrible event for political gain. Shows how low the poltical scene in America has become. So much for government by the people for the people.
I don't understand your logic. The USA imported people from an intolerant ideology just to prove how "modern" and "progressive" they are, and to try proving that islam is non violent. Well, there was certainly a warning that this was not a good idea - that violence and hate would spiral out of control, but our political masters and the left decided it was absolutely neccessary to import these people. Now we are paying the price for our PC stupidity, so yes there is definitely a political angle here, and that this plays into Trumps hands must be upsetting for the lefties, but remember it was you lefties that gave us this whole problem to start with.
Canada has just done the same, and let me tell you, it is only a matter time before they start gunning down gays and liberals there also. The same gays and liberals that forced the govt to import them in the 1st place. When it comes to islam, people seem to throw all logic out of the window to appease it.
Wrong Canada is not vetting them. They are already in the country and I am not talking like most of the idiots do who talk about ones 20 years ago. I am talking about ones coming in right now. Canada is following closely in the footsteps of Europe and England. The United States is not. Not hard to listen to you people and understand where Trumps support comes from.

The liberal based article failed to note that the shooter was a Muslim of Afghan heritage. More bridges and less walls the policy of the democrats. The pandering Clinton wants to bring in a minimum of 75,000 Syrians a year to the USA, lets see if she continues to spout this idea over the next couple of weeks.
And yes Trump has said there is more to come, not genius on his part just realistic. Meanwhile Obama and Clinton live on with the lies of denial.
Just wondering how many more uninformed posts are going to be put up. The United States spends up to 2 years vetting these refuges. How many are in the country now. They say are going to that means they have not. Please learn English before you try to post with it.

Rajevej Hospital across from the Holiday Inn has ambulances. Carry their number with you I am sure that they will always have some one speaking English there. During the day they have a interpreter on staff
I once called the Bangkok hospital and got the operator shuffle and in the end they didn't know. A friend of mine went there got all the tests and they said he was OK even though he was still pissing blood then he asked to have a melanoma spot removed and he had to go to the Ram but he still had to give them 600 baht for that consultation. He got it removed for less at the Ram. Not that the money mattered he has good insurance.
I personally have people who speak Thai on my phone list I can call. You might want to consider carrying some sort of identification and residency in Thai with you. I am fortunate that I am in reasonably good health and chances are my Thai wife will out live me she is 17 years younger than me.

Nothing to do with the price of eggs, but at Big C a Pkt of 6
Croissants ,last week were 29 THB,this week 47 THB ,that's
inflation to a high degree.
regards worgeordie
Croissants hibernate in the cooler wet season so more difficult to find and scarcity pushes the prices up.
I have also noted a tendency for sales to push the prices down or being old to push them down.

You see?
I Knew this topic was important.
I, and my egg lady, was the first to notice the hydrogen sulfide in the coal mine.
Of course, for me, one who consumes only 5 or 6 eggs per day, I can easily pay out the 4 or 5 Bt. per day in excess eggspendutures.
But some are not so wealthy.
And here is a poster who must buy 600 per month for his business.
Eggs represent a significant fraction of the cost for some recipes.
And, eggs are also the best source of low cost highly concentrated protein available.
It is possible to provide an all plant diet with enough protein, but eggs are easier.
Anyway, when we discover the reason for the recent price increase, then we will know why.
I think that egg production costs are closely related to energy costs, but I am not sure. I thought that the lighting used in industrial henhouses was important for increased production.
I also think that hens eat seafood.
In the form of tiny Manhattan.
But maybe I misspelled something.
I must look it up on Google.
and the eggs will still be the same price.Anyway, when we discover the reason for the recent price increase, then we will know why.
Well, by then they actually may not be the same price.
I think the cost is related to the import numbers for layers, chickens that lay eggs.
According to the Bangkok Post, in 2010, the price for an egg shot up to 6 or 8 Baht.
So, keep those layers coming in, and the price should remain stable.
The cost to produce an egg was around 2.6 Bt.
We have not even broken the subject of
Powdered Eggs.
Sometimes farmers can use Powdered Eggs to prop up the price, when falling too fast.
I see nothing wrong with paying 4.5 Bt for a 0 egg.
I want the farmers to make a decent income.
So you already know the answer. The whole post is meaningless. as you say it goes up and down and can be a daily change. It how ever has been eggciting. But not very eggact.

Talked to my friend in Pai. He says there are lots of guides there. Also lots of people just ride their motor bikes out there and see a trail and go hiking on it. He says that this being the rainy season to be sure to carry a stick as it does seem to bring the snakes out. Also the Dengue fever from the mosquitos is bad up there. so bring lots of repellant.

I vote 6 months in CM...although I use a Bank letter, and I was told 7 days on it, and they may want to see a passbook update from the day before, but that wasn't an issue on a fixed deposit, and those can be tricky to update, if at all...mine was not, but I did add 500 thb to the savings book, when I got my letter. All covered on Immigration Forum...but each office is same/same but different depending on the wind, which seems to blow in Cm more than just about anywhere.
I have heard 6 months and will be testing it this year.
As for the bank statements they can be tricky depending on the officer you get and what kind of a mood they are in. I do not know the requirements but I have heard of people having the amount required in both the letter and the bank book but even though they both had enough money they did not match and had to go match them up.

I have a friend who lives up there and takes his motor bike up to the MANY hill tribe villages. He reckons there are more people living in then than Pai.
They are not as previously described. Take a bike and explore then you will have a rough idea where to go for hiking.

Word on the street is that the eggs are really going to get high. The chickens are forming a union to get a bigger cut of the

I went on such a tour years ago when it was all military ruled. I had hired a car with a driver in Mai Sia. It was a per day rate of 2,200 baht for him and the vehicle. I paid all expenses.
At the time the company I had gone through was a travel agent in Mai Sia called Monkey Island. All we had to do was tell him where we wanted to go and he did all the Visa work. There was several stops inside Burma where they checked us out. Once again he handled every thing. We went through to Monglar on the Chinese border.
That was many year's ago I don't know if they are still there. Also It was a more of where I wanted to go than a preset tour. You might have better luck looking around Mai Sia for a tour company or posting on the Chiang Rai forum.
good luck.

CMJoe, my Thai EX's folksy qualifier of neediness of a missing limb really impressed you I see, as you have now referenced it at least 3 times. I guess you didn't get it was her way of saying , If a person appears able to work they should. ... but you can keep using that as it seems to make you happy.
There are many homeless in CM, also borderline cases hanging out. some beg, some just existing, some being exploited by the powers that be, all deserving of a better life.
i remember that young curly haired Burmese guy that sat on L.K. road for years in a prime location maybe still there, speaks good english, angelic face and very polite. He told me he lost a lower leg to a land mine. He did very well financially. (yep only 3 limbs).
I used your ex's criteria of limb-counting because it was the most perfect example I've ever come across of how dismissive, thoughtless and heartless people can be of the plight of others. Thanks for your permission to keep referencing her, it is even better than 'if a person appears able to work they should'.
I don't recall the curly-haired lad, but I do remember the crippled guy that used to pull up on his hand-powered tricycle, shuffle across the floor on his useless limbs and beg outside a bank on Changklan road. Although he had all his limbs it could be argued that 2 of them didn't count, so I'm sure his job opportunities were limited. I used that very bank for quite a while and I would occasionally drop him a few baht, but I must admit that part of the reason was that I admired his ingenuity in his choice of location - it was a lot more difficult to act like you had no money outside a bank!!
A few years down the line, I saw him cycle past and my wife told me that he did quite well and he had a nice house just out of town. She didn't say anything else and there was no hint of her thinking that anything was wrong with that. I thought about it, and maybe similar to my wife, I thought 'good luck to him'. His options in life were extremely limited, there is no state support system to help him get by, he never pressured anyone into giving money, and he smiled at you if you gave or not. The people that gave probably felt better and he did benefit from their generosity. I thought that he is as deserving of a good life as much as the next guy and I appreciated the fact that he has managed to get through life, despite his obvious handicap, and be successful. I thought that it is wrong to expect him to just subsist, he should be able to enjoy life to it's full as much as anyone else, and not just get by, which implies he should 'know his place' and 'accept his lot'.
He taught me something, as did my wife. Notice I didn't say 'ex'?
You are wasting your time. Talking to these people is like tilting at windmills.

Hate to break it to you, ThaiTony2, but this little outfit next to the copy center at Imm. Prom. has been around pretty much since the place opened almost a year ago. As noted by others, they're nothing more than a "concierge service" for people who have already gotten themselves, their passports and other relevant documents out to Imm. Prom. and then for whatever reason can't be bothered to wait in a queue.
They're not truly a full service visa agent. A full service visa agent would have sent you a reminder than your 90 day report was due and probably even sent someone to your home to pick up your passport, if you'd used them for your annual visa extension. And if you'd had a problem, like been laid up in the hospital, they would have come to the hospital to take care of this for you. Don't expect this level of service from the shop next to Imm. Prom.
The shop next to the immigration does not claim to be a full service Visa operation. The reality of it is most people do not need a full service. A 365 day extension and a 90 day are all they need. There are some who need a permit to reenter the country or a multi entry. All of these services they offer.
It charges less because of that. You can beat there 300 baht by 50 baht on a 90 day at a full service agent if you agree to another 5,000 baht service. Or you can just do as most do go in yourself. I do my own 90 days no problem and my reentries no problem I have and more than likely will do again paid the 3,000 baht for the 365 day extension. Or may see about sending my grand daughter at 4:00 in the morning to get me a queue number.
-
You go to the Imm. office at Promenada mall. I applied for a re-entry permit about two weeks ago, arriving about 9 am. As of that time, they hadn't turned that service into one where you need to arrive before dawn or pay an agent to obtain the service. Of course that could change, as it seems CM Immigration is finding new and creative ways to force their customers into using agents.
I was in there a couple of weeks ago at about 11:00 in the morning. There was no line at all for it. I spoke with the lady getting one and she said she was taken in right away no line up.
What number did you get at 9:00 in the morning.

There're two old women near to Kad Saen Kaew begging on a regular basis. They don't have any obvious handicaps.
Is being disabled the only justification for begging? How many limbs do you think they need to be missing before they are entitled to beg?
I'm surprised we haven't had someone chime in with the old nugget,"I offered a beggar some food, and they didn't want it, therefore they're not genuine". As we all know, beggars don't need shelter, clothing, soap, shoes, or heaven forbid, a drink or a cigarette. They need food and nothing else - they should subsist and be grateful for that.
You beat me to it. I was going to ask the same question. I personally have three disabilities but they are not obvious. I would be on the street begging also if I didn't have an outside source of income.
I wanted to thank you for your support of the real beggars. I am sure I have made mistakes but the bottom line is I did not get hurt and many times I am sure it has made a difference in some peoples life.
OP.-"Isn't it time for the local government to start collecting these people off the streets and sending them into the country?
This is not good for tourism in any which way!"
I don't think Thailand needs people with your line of dangerous thinking.
Please go home, unless of course you're already there and just trolling.
Just thought it deserved another seconder on it.With his obvious lack of knowledge about beggars he has to be TROLL.
-
It is just a troll. Stop and think of it people why would a beggar hang out at a bridge where there is less foot traffic.
I quite often walk across two and some times three of the bridges in addition to a tuck tuck across a fourth and have yet to see a beggar on one.
I do see them in the tourist areas and there does not sem to be more. I have noticed over the years that some times there are even less then there is more then there is less.
An ill informed troll

Pretty well points out the uselessness of the 90day.

Makro also stock one that has a stoneware type pot inside. Not expensive at around 1000 baht. 3 heat settings...low, high and auto. Great for soups and stews.
The pot is good enough to be used as a serving dish thus less cleaning up.
I was in Makro on the super highway the other day and they had only one. It was a stoneware pot. But the lid did not fit that great so I left it. I used to make soup in them or stew. I would eat a meal and just throw some more items in the pot. I always kept it on low heat and it always gave me a good tasting meal. I see no need for any setting other than low, normal and high.

Wow Weeeee you have 3 properties you are trying to sell and have dropped the selling prices by 15 to 20%. This reeks of a sales job to me and you make it so obvious.knew that u would be first , please read my opening post again, and get a good grip of yourself,(if poss)
your above post and answers are not in any way, shape or form related to my questions
you are full of wind
Are these your properties or do you sell on commission? 3% I think is the going rate. A property valued a 5 million baht that`s 150000 baht in your pocket. Nice one.
Got to wonder after his blind promotion of the Green Valley condo he had money in.
Yes that was funny. I wonder if that is one of the properties he is trying to dump?

Well he did say in January so I imagine that would give him some time to shop around.
Never had one. Is it not a simple painless procedure. I can understand maybe uncomfortable.
