Yeah, not sure why he didn't do an online or even an over-the-counter bank-to-bank transfer. But I think you may be underestimating banks if you thought he was trying to hide his other acc. Once any banks log on to the central system, they will know all your other bank/credit card/loan/etc accounts, balance, transactions, credit history, spending - the works. Unless the other account is under an entirely different person's name and ID. You may be able to 'hide' the transaction by making physical withdrawals, but not hide your other bank accounts if they are under your name and ID.

Expert Calls for Urgent Review of Thailand's Alcohol Policies
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe because it's assumed that most people are asleep from midnight onwards and not many people drink in the morning, except tourists maybe, while most people may start drinking during or after lunch, or have an early 'happy hours' hence making the 2-5 ban more obvious? Just guessing. -

Condo in Nana Area Used for Illegal Rentals and Prostitution, MP Says
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Only a single condo in the Nana area? For the record, these sort of 'troubling situations' happen in MANY areas and, dare I say, in most parts of the country. And it's not just limited to Thailand. MP Phanthira Nwamjerm - either you're a an ignorant muppet, or a xenophobic racist. I think you're both, with a lean towards the latter, I'd venture. -
Pattaya Beach Altercation: Rising Tensions Among Tourists
outsider replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I follow a few portrait photography pages on FB. Sometimes the admins post portraits of really beautiful women. Instead of commenting on the photography or even the beauty of the women, one should read of the comments from this lot. 'Despicable' doesn't even begin to describe how small their brains are. Or course not all are bad. But there are enough to paint a rough picture. Enough said. -
Controversy Erupts as Thailand Claims Uyghurs Chose Deportation
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Maybe Thailand kept them as bargaining chips with China, who knows? I read that this not-so-secret secret deportation took place after some high-level meetings between the two governments. Maybe this is Thailand cashing in their chips for some Chinese favour? Can they be this foul? I wouldn't put it beyond them, if I'm honest. -

Agreed. As they say, you need a bully to deal with a bully. It's as simple as that. -
Controversy Erupts as Thailand Claims Uyghurs Chose Deportation
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
By the way, the images and videos of people greeting and hugging the returning refugees could have been just a show. The CCP is perfectly capable of putting on a show like this, and it is nowhere near 'beyond them' to do so. For all we know, the people hugging them are actually CCP members telling the refugees to 'you're back, you won't be going anywhere so do yourself (and your family) a favour - shut up and do as you're told or face worse consequences'. -
Controversy Erupts as Thailand Claims Uyghurs Chose Deportation
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If it was all above-board, why didn't you make a pre-event announcement and clear the path for this 'exercise'? Tell the public the refugees want to go home, let the refugees speak, then send them off properly - not in taped-up buses under the cover of night. Why is there a need for secrecy (not that you lot can keep it well anyway!). The way you guys are clutching at straws now is just so amateurishly pathetic. Sought intervention from PM Puppet... 555555 This puppet wouldn't know where Xinjiang is if nobody pointed it out to her. So it seems PM Puppet's father isn't the real puppetmaster. It seems he's just an older puppet and the real master is Master Xi. A lot of Thais are outraged (and this time, rightly so) when people say Thailand is the 23rd Chinese province. I told them 'direct your anger at your government, because ultimately they are the ones who brought this insult and shame to your country'. -
US, Japan Issue Security Alerts After Thailand's Uyghur Deportation
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is what I've heard from some people. Unverified and may just be hearsay, but somehow it sort of makes sense. China is practising a form of 'genocide' (don't know if there is a better term for what I am about to share). But instead of openly murdering people, they are sending hordes of Hans to mix with the Uyghurs in Xinjiang. The Hans are 'encouraged' to live with the Uyghurs, brainwash them to tow the CCP line and, ultimately marry and start a family with them. This way, it will dilute the Uyghurs' genes, culture, identity etc. to a point where Uyghurs will simply cease to exist in the future. Maybe this is why they want them back in China - they do not want even one to be spared of this 'conversion'. Maybe this is just another conspiracy theory, I don't know. Just sharing. -

Thailand's Upcoming Entertainment Law Set to Change Nightlife
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why is there a need for a new law? Existing laws are enough already to 'restrict operating hours and bolster security requirements'. If you bumbling idiots bother to enforce them! Since you people don't, the new law is going to be just another piece of toilet paper. Or another avenue for you clowns to siphon more money. -

Taiwan Labels Thailand as High-Risk Travel Destination
outsider replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It seems you have misread/misunderstood the article. Or maybe you didn't read this part: This article is about fraud rings that make people work for them, mostly involuntarily. And they target foreigners. Not Thais. They are either coerced, threatened, forced or even abducted and made to work for these fraud rings - place scam calls etc. Maybe you were out when news of these incidences were shared, posted and broadcasted across quite a few news channels and platforms. It's fairly recent so I think if you Googled for it, you'd still find them - in case you want to read up a bit about this. This article does not address the scam victims downstream, whether they are Thais, or not. -

At a time where there are cameras and CCTVs all over the place, not to mention scores of people who are quick on the draw with their mobile cameras, it's a wonder people still do stuff like this. I mean, you almost can't pick your nose in the open without being filmed or photographed. -

Firstly, I do not condone what has happened or any form of violence, for that matter, but where were these 'Thai netizens' when your lot ganged up on foreigners? And why can't the police also closely monitor the behaviour of local thugs and enforce strict laws against them? Not so nice when the boot is on the other foot eh? -
Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
outsider replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I think you could be wrong. On the contrary, I think pilots are trained to inform passengers with real information. Of course they won't say 'we had an engine failure' but something more tactful and less scary. I shared my story to another member (below). Have a read. Cheers. -
Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
outsider replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Pilots are trained to inform passengers of what is going on. Not withhold information from passengers. If you've never been on a flight where the pilot said anything other than read you the weather, time to destination and maybe share some sights with you outside your window, thank your lucky stars. -
Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
outsider replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
If I am not mistaken, I think it's protocol. The pilot must tell passengers what happened, or is happening, if anything out of the ordinary takes place mid-flight. It's not about scaring/not scaring passengers. It is about 'equipping' passengers with information - tell them what went wrong, reassure them by explaining what is being done to alleviate the situation, and calm them down, to avoid scaring them! Not telling them anything and letting passengers speculate will scare them even more, not to mention the potential of some passengers escalating the incident by panicking physically - because they don't have the right information! This is even more dangerous. Of course, aircrews are trained to be a little more tactful when they have to make such announcements. They probably wouldn't say "We just lost one engine, and have to fly with just the one that's still working" but instead something more 'encouraging' like "Due to a malfunction, we have to proceed with the flight with number two engine - that's the one on the right-hand side, ladies and gentlemen" and proceed to tell what is being/will be done to land the plane safely etc. etc. While it is safe for an aircraft to fly with one engine, certain conditions must be met - lower airspeed, lower altitude etc. And the aircraft is not allowed to taxi to the terminal on its own power and must stop as soon as it clears the runway upon landing. Engines (and the APU) must be shut down (to avert a fire hazard, I guess?). The aircraft must sit on the tarmac and wait for the aircraft tug to come out and tow it to a safe location where passengers can disembark. Imagine, if all this was happening and the pilot doesn't tell the passengers anything - what do you think will happen in the cabin? In serious, potentially life-and-death situations, people share and exchange real information, not play hide-and-seek with real information. I'm not a pilot nor an aviation expert, just an amateur AV geek and 'planespotter', but I WAS on a flight that had to shut one engine due to a malfunction and the events above did take place. Scary? I think I was more tense than scared. And it was bl**dy unpleasant, but I'll get to this in a bit. It was a Malaysia Airlines flight from KUL - BKK. The pilot did a good job talking to passengers throughout the flight after the initial announcement. The passengers were calm. The aircraft flew very slowly and at a low altitude but other than that, there was no drama. The unpleasantness came when we landed. The aircraft stopped as soon as it turned off the runway and everything was shut down. This was on a midday in April and, sitting in the open under the Songkran sun in Suvarnabhumi, the cabin heated up very quickly. I think it was a good part of 30 minutes before the aircraft tug came to get us. During disembarkation nobody pushed, rushed or panicked. It was quite 'normal' - to the point where you get the usual impatient muppets flipping their seatbelts away, lunging for their stuff from the overhead storage and standing in the aisle - even before the aircraft has come to a complete stop. The captain made a final announcement, then came out and together with the crew apologised for the unpleasantness. But instead of rushing to get off, the passengers (including the impatient muppets) clapped and even stopped to shake hands with the pilots and crew and exchanged pleasantries. I think this was all a part of their training and they achieved the desired outcome. I think they did a good job, don't you think so?
