  1. Few people carry a balance of £5000 in a current account in the U.K. but could have a valuable property which clearly would not count or be taken into consideration?

It appears that Australians are not being subjected to any financial declarations? Why are the British being penalized yet again? What employer is going to issue a document

stating that he is happy for a member of staff to be away in Thailand for 6 months? Who thinks this stuff up???

  2. Rightly or wrongly, the U.K is very tight on applications from Thailand, obviously based on bad track records in many cases. This even applies to a person who can satisfy all normal requirements, such as having a well paid job in LOS, children living there and in full time education, property, cars and every reason to need to return. Just bide your time as many posts

have suggested, visit Thailand more often, and think with your head rather than other parts of your anatomy !

  3. I agree with Time Traveller! In my case, the Thai company was formed explicitly to manufacture new and innovative medical supplements used in Anti-aging Medicine (AAM) and certain cancer and terminal cancer treatments, but only in the U.K. which are then exported all over the world from the U.K. Although

monies received are then remitted to BKK, no actual work takes place in Thailand, therefore I would contend that no WP is needed?

  4. As Ubonjoe remarks, the whole issue is riddled in ambiguity and confusion. Even those people who have never stepped a foot out of place but come to Thailand quite often on a Visa exempt

30 days, are now being challenged with monotonous frequency; not at Suvarnabhumi but at entry airports like Phuket. Why? The idea for limiting a number of entries within a 6 month or

12 month period was scrapped some time ago, but is being implemented by some immigration officials on a completely arbitrary basis. For what reason? If the persons concerned are retired, they cannot be accused of working in LOS, surely?!! On the one hand LOS is always wanting to increase tourism and its related income, then on the other hand they are making certain entries feel most uncomfortable.

  5. Ubonjoe, advice is needed!

Unlike other arrival points in LOS, Phuket decided to give several people the third degree on arriving on an international flight. In most cases, they were querying why the passport holders were wanting to come to Thailand so often, despite the fact that no-one had got any overstays or had any problems previously. I thought that the 'many Visa exempt stamps' within 6 months idea had NOT been implemented, only talked about? Why this sudden change of attitude and why only at Phuket? No-one was working or wanting to work in Thailand, and some were well beyond retirement age!

  6. It is no more likely to change, than motorcyclists (and sometimes cars and trucks) going the wrong way on the highway so they can exit more quickly when their turn-off arrives! Totally dangerous, especially at night, but I cannot see it changing anytime in the near future !
