Leave by an airport and return via air.
-
Correct your overstay asap, then start again!
-
Seems it could be somewhat hit and miss?
-
You seemed to have solved the problem yourself now anyway?

At least some people have been honest in their answers ! Interesting and in one or two instances, touching !

Yes, Immigration is now questioning people with 6 or more Visa Exempt entries, even by air. The problem is that one might need to go out for a meeting for 1-2 days during the original 30 day period, then one has accumulated 2 entries within 30 days, and that can suddenly start to add up very quickly.
-
Seems not !

Why should there be an objection to 6 separate Visa exempt entries as long as the person is not working and they are not back to back?

Education on the whole is below par but there is little will to do anything about it. Certainly in my 31 years of coming to LOS, the standard of English has deteriorated atrociously. The other day I was at an Airport bookshop, Asia Books, which specializes almost exclusively in books written in English. There were 2 male assistants who failed to speak or understand a single word of English - aged in their 20's. I tried for 10 minutes to explain about my Asia Books / Bookazine discount card and how they could check my number on the computer, but I might as well have been talking some unheard of foreign language, as they hadn't even the first clue about their own Company's discount card! Surely it would not cost much more to at least employ staff who spoke at least a smattering of English?

They certainly are looking at passports with a lot of Thai entry stamps, and are querying the purpose of so many visits, but in my experience have not denied entry. I do not exceed 30 days on a Visa Exempt, but have a lot of them, and am wondering if it is time to get a fresh passport?!

I would recommend the West Coast of Koh Samui and many places on Koh Phangan. It may even have an airport opening in December 2015.

Not only is it not necessary to have a degree in many circumstances, but having or starting a company with 2 million baht authorised capital, does entitle one to apply for a W.P., with certainly no requirement to demonstrate a degree !

My experience is that if you have a lot of perfectly legitimate Visa exempt entries, you can be asked why, but permission has not been refused. Maybe time to jettison my overburdened
current passport ahead of time?!!

Transam is so right !

Several posts have given good advice about obtaining visas before they leave their home country, I agree! The trouble is that in the U.K. this has now been made so difficult, one tends to resort to exempt 30 days, then get an extension if and when necessary. Abolished has become the option of getting a visa by post from one of the Consulates! One now has to go to London and the visa cannot be issued the same day, so then another trip has to be arranged to collect it. That is fine if one lives in London, but most people don't, so it has become a total aggravation, especially for people who have to travel a lot and cannot readily surrender their passport for any length of time!

Good to hear some positive reasons at last !

Matseng makes some sensible comments !

When will road safety start to be taken seriously in LOS?
-
It would be good for this to be substantiated by some real facts !

I find taxis repeatedly refusing fares, especially if they think it is too short a journey. Try the Southern Bus station for instance !

What twitters are these then???

Just amazing !

JOC, you have every right to be angry and cynical !
