  1. That's what I thought. I have never been asked for 12 hours before, normally 8 hours. Go to bed at midnight get up and go and have a blood test, simple. But no liquid for 12 hours feels wrong.
  2. I'm due for a Blood Test at a hospital tomorrow 8 am. The appointment form says no food or water after 8 pm tonight. Is that a mistake? On having blood tests over the years it always said except water.
  3. When I was searching before I couldn't find it on the net. I didn't check Villa because I shop there occasionally and never saw it. Thank you for reminding me. but at 705 Baht I'm going to give it a miss. PS Sirineou. Villa's picture doesn't do it justice.

    Savoy Cabbage

Does anybody know if this is available anywhere in Pattaya? I've tried searching but all I can find is Savoy cabbage seeds. As I live in a condo that is not a possibility. The cabbages I find here are a pale imitation of what is reckoned to be "the king of cabbages".
  5. I looked and when I saw the prices I thought "not for me'". I went back to Dasa Books today and it was working fine. I don't know what the problem was yesterday. Anyway, I've placed an order for 7 books, which will all over a period of time end up at Canterbury Tales.
  6. Years ago there were a few 2nd hand bookshops from one where terminal 21 is now to 2 bookshops in Jomtien and then the best one above Tops on Klang and 2nd Road. Over the years they all seem to have gone. Jeremy's was taken over by Dave of Canterbury Tales but even that has moved. I still shop at Canterbury Tales but I find it harder to find the books I'm looking for. I tend to find a novelist that I like then read the complete series (if I can find all the books). So, are there any bookshops that I've missed? I even tried Dasa in Bangkok (sent by post) but for some reason, I'm having trouble with the website. So although they have books that I want I can't seem to order them. And there is nothing like browsing through a bookshop in the hope of finding a gem.
  7. I have never seen the Doctor on time in the many years of going to BPH. Normally 10 of 15 minutes, sometimes much longer. Last month it was nearly 90 minutes. I don't have a blood test it's just a BP and weight by the nurse and then wait for the Doctor.

    Cheap gym

The price for what seems excellent facilities looks very good. Years ago I took advantage of Tony's lifetime membership (it worked out at 200 pounds, best investment I ever made). I know people will say his facilities weren't very good but for me they worked fine and having a swimming pool and Sauna was a bonus. Exercise first, then a swim and a sauna and finally on a sun bed for a spell of sunbathing before going home. 3 or 4 times a week for years. So, what is the name of the condo? I'll even give up the street view and TV for a swimming pool and sauna after exercise.

    Cheap gym

Thank you Jacko. I often think this myself. A walking machine because it has something I can hold onto when my balance feels wrong and a view because I'm deaf and need subtitles which means a phone is a bit small for that. So a streetview even if not much is happening.

    Cheap gym

I asked this question before some time ago but when I searched for it nothing came up. I am having mobility problems. All I want is a gym with a walking machine so I can walk on a flat surface (albeit slowly). I don't need aircon but I would like the machine to either have a TV nearby or even facing the road so I can watch something, rather than a wall. Having such basic needs I would like it to be as cheap as possible. I look forward to your helpful replies.
  11. Thanks Sheryl, I was hoping you would say that. I just wanted confirmation from somebody who is a lot better informed than I am.
  12. Since that test, I have had 2 more AST and ALT tests. Both show absolutely normal readings (14 and 23 and then 18 and 23). I am thinking of cancelling my appointment at the Liver Centre. They only sent me there because my ALT was 56. Blood tests and a Fibroscan are involved (don't ask me what that is). Any views on what I should do? I don't want to waste money on unnecessary tests if they are not needed.
  13. Some people ask on here for a reason. I'm deaf so asking on a phone is out of the question. Don't be so quick to criticize.
  14. The only times I have used a taxi in Pattaya is when they come via Bolt.
  15. Is it possible to buy Tebonin 120mg over the counter in Thailand? If so where? I am in Pattaya. I have a week's supply left (1 a day) and my next appointment is not for 3 weeks. I have looked on the internet but I don't hold much hope. Thank you
  16. I came across my wife's old camera. I just wondered if a camera repair shop in Pattaya could deal with it.
  17. I use Life Care in Pattaya. Cant remember the price but a lot cheaper than BPH.
  18. Thank you Sheryl. That is reassuring. I had the blood test done at Life Care and took my results to BPH to my heart specialist who sent me to the Liver Center. I have noticed before that some of the ranges quoted in the report differed from what I read on the internet.
  19. Thank you for your helpful suggestions. I don't need comments like this. I know it could be serious. I am already giving up alcohol. I used to drink roughly the same amount every day and have done for years. My last blood test (the same over the years) showed normal levels of SGOT and SGPT (4 months ago). I have a blood test every 4 months and over the years it has given me nothing to worry about. This time it showed a level of SGPT that wasn't there 4 months ago. So i'm just asking for more information.
  20. I did I'm just asking for more information.
  21. I have an SGOT of 15 and an SGPT of 56. How bad is this?
  22. I don't know who is lying but the abbot stated that he lent the grandmother money on loads of occasions and she never repaid him. I always thought the monks didn't have any possessions or money.
  23. You beat me to it. After reading the previous posts I went into the kitchen to do the washing up and think about what I was going to say, When I sat back down I saw your post. I would just like to say that I think that it's a wonderful example of Thai Logic.
