Yes, good advise; also, I was at Immigration and was having my Retirement Visa transferred
to my new passport. I noticed they did not transfer my multi-entry stamp. I pointed this out
to the officer, after about a 10 minute wait, my multi-entry stamp was stamped in the new
passport, Always be polite, but firm.....Old saying " You catch more flies with honey than
with vinegar"

Being from the States, I find my retirement here in Thailand is a lot of fun. I have been in Thailand
four years now. I never thought I would be the type person who would be happy retired, infact, I
continued to work a year past retirement age, not ready for such a life change, and I had a job I really enjoyed....HOWEVER....
I am a Medical Technologist, and the last two to three years of work became very stressful; something
I enjoyed became a real pain. As positions became vacant, more and more work was expected of the remaining staff, infact, there were times you would work 12 to 16 hours and still not be able to finish the work. I could see more and more positions about to be eliminated and decided, enough was enough. I had top seniority and knew I would have even more work to do.............
I had visited Thailand on holiday as well as Costa Rica, both nice climates, and decided on Thailand
because of how nice the Thai people treated me. I have my OA Visa....I had to prove I had no
criminal record, or drug, mental diorders, or leporacy..... All required by the Royal Thai Consulate
in the States, as well as 65K Baht per month in income. The Visa was no problem. Really don't
know why they require 65K Baht per month, I am single, play golf three times a month, travel to
Cambodia, Viet Nam, China, and go back to the States twice a year. I live very well on 40K per
month, (No car, motorbike, I eat steak once or twice a week, I cook at home, and mostly eat Thai
food when I am out)....Also, my rent, 15K/mo I pay out of my Investment Acct. every 6 months.
I have lots of money left over each month. I don't blow mega bucks at the sleezy bars and leave
the hookers alone.....except for one I see on a regular basis, (Once a week,5555)
With golf, travel, little theatre group ,bowling night, weekly trips to Koh Larn, dinner with friends, I
wish there were 10 days in the week. You can stay as busy as you choose. Life is really great
as a Retiree here in Thailand..............Now if the sun would come out, it would be even better.......

Just did this. Tho my passport is valid until Aug of '14, I had no pages left. I got a new passport
from the Embassy, in BKK, (USA to add pages $82, new passport for 10 years$110). Today I
went to Thai Immigration, one form to complete, they need your old passport, copies of Visa and
don't forget your multiple entry stamp or you'll be stuck with a 30 day rentry at the airport. It took
about 20 minutes and no charge. The US Embassy enclosed a letter with my new passport that
requested Thai Inmmigration to transfer my visa stamp to my new passport.

I'm really shocked this forum isn't "flooded" with comments by developers and
real estate agents telling everyone how wonderful the real estate market is in
Thailand, more lies, lies, lies from these people.

What a joke.....Give it 36-48 more months. Every Soi and vacant piece of land is being developed
with thousands of new shoe box condos. Half are already empty, and the new developments can't
sell 75% of what is built already. When you see hours of advertising, free gifts and price reductions
the bubble is starting to burst already.

I think Coke, by itself, is pretty far down on the list as a couse of diabetes. I know there are 12 teaspoons of sugar
per can; but unless you drink a case a week you should be pretty safe. The real cause appears to be a lack of
education....Have you ever seen someone put 5 spoons of sugar in a small cup of coffee ? It happens all the time,
people are not aware of the amount of sugar they consume on a daily basis. Most people don't realize, bread turns
into a sugar as you digest it. Ice cream, white rice, bread, candy, sweet tea, sweet milk, it all adds up on a daily
basis..............

The BIG GUYS helping out the LITTLE GUYS......Thanks...............

Do you really expect anyone to believe this Bull Shit from Chris. He is probably another drunk with such
a wonderful conscience. This guy will piss away his 200K pound pension and be back on the streets in
less than a year.......Really people, such rubbish....

Can't believe anyone would have sympathy for these Criminals. Attempting to rob B1M ?? and now
some ass holes on this forum think they should not be held responsible for their actions because of
their age; let me tell you 20 years old is not kid today. These MEN must learn that this is a crime, let
them get away with this, and they will be killing people with guns in a year, Get a Life People, this
is not a joke or prank by a 12 year old, these are YOUNG CRIMINALS...Put 'em in jail for a long, long
time. Minimum 10-15 years....lesson learned, the hard way. Shouldn't kidnapping be a charge too !!!!!!

Attempt at a new kind of scam here in Thailand. Make a moint that this will not be tolerated. The Police and
Immigration should, if found guilty put them in the Bangkok Hilton for a minimum of 10 years....Just to make a
statement this will not be tolerated.

Most of the ass holes who vote against gun control use the Constitution to cover up their
pay offs by PAC's and under the counter bribes. If it wasn't for money, and crooked
members of congress, we would have "better gun control laws". It's just common sense.

Coke is an icon, and will always be one. A coke once in a while is great. People who
get hooked on all the sugar and get diabetes, fat, and ill eat to much: candy, cake, bread, and ice
cream too. Let's not all pick on Coke. Poor eating habits, not coke causes most of
these health problems. Try Coke Zero !! and get out and exercise................

Some people have no brains when it comes to monthly payments....Simple rule to live by.......If the
monthly installments on cars or credit cards exceed 20% of your monthly income...YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT !!!!!!!!!!!

In my early 30's I was having a conversation with a dear friend of the family, a retired judge
from NYC, who was then in Her 60's. I will never forget Her saying when you get old, there
are only two choices in life: "People will either envy or pity you". I kept this in mind, worked
hard, 50-60 hours a week, didn't squander my money on booze and drugs; now in my late
50's (close to 60), I have a buck in the bank, a good income, still blessed with good heath, walk
8 km each day, and have several very good friends here in Thailand. I chose not to go the
pity route........Loser, I don't think so.

In 1962 my brother and I both inherited my grandmother's steiff teddy bears. As children
we were only allowed to "look" at the bears in her china closet and never allowed to touch
them. They came from Germany and were made in the early 20's. In 1976 my brother
sold his for $ 22,000 American.....Mine is still in the safe in the States....(Smart grandmother,
she never allowed us to play with them).......Yes, lots to see at a Teddy Bear Museum

It appears he is known to neighbors and the police as a violent drunk. I wonder how much
abuse the Thai wife took over the last three or four years ????. If this is true, and He is one
of those "Know it all" drunks, who abuses his family, than good for the wife!!!!! She probably
has an 8th grade education and got it all over on this Jerk....Enjoy your live on the street !!!!!!
Another case of a foreigner being treated unfairly in Thailand?
