  1. Don't bring anything electrical from Hawaii it won't work on this current. Major appliances are

much cheaper than Hawaii, You can buy nice furniture here at IKEA in BKK and take it to

your new home. I lived in Chiang Mai for a year, and now in Jomtien Beach, Learn to

speak Russian is you are moving to Pattaya 5555555.

I lived in Hawaii 25 years, and it is so much less expensive here, but get use to the humidity,

and the entire place needs to be pressure washed, SE Asia..........The water here, Ocean is

so dirty and filthy, find a place with a great pool. Koh Larn Island is like the neighbor islands

of HI, beautiful clean water, 45min boat ride from Pattaya, need to wear a life jacket for safety.

Good luck, the Thai food at BKK Chef in HI was good, this is awesome.

Cars and gasoline are extremely expensive $4.50 gal, and a small car will set you back 22K+

  2. Seat belts yes, Owners of these Companies that demand their Drivers SPEED to get in

another RUN for extra Baht should lose their license to operate. Drivers who speed should

be stopped by the cops and license revoked on the spot, if they have a license. Thailand

should be embarassed by the way these DEATH TRAPS have been ALLOWED to operate

by the MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION for YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This Minister should

    be Fired !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Could it have something to do with the fact when your wife worked she probably

made 200B $6/day, and when you worked, if in the States or Europe you probably

made 6000B $200/day....Of course you have to shop around, if you know your wife,

gf,Thai friend can get such a discount what are you complaing about....let them shop,

and with your farang income you shouldn't mind paying $24 and not $12.......TIT......

    don't be so cheap !!!!!!!!!!

  4. Oh, sure, now the Captain is on drugs. How about the fire on one of these boats 6

weeks ago ??? So now all investigations stop as to how safe these boats are? They

should all be sent to dry dock and checked for safety. Crews must be trained in safe

evacuations of boat. Post # of people allowed aboard, check on on seaworthyness of

all these boats, Let's protect all those on board, 175 people could have died. Pull

the license on the Owners of these boats and make them prove they, and the crews

    are SAFE>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I love these old wooden boats. Never ever replace them with some fiberglass barge brought

to Thailand from Europe. I love the charm and feeling of a little Thai and SE Asia home

spun boating. They should be brought to dry dock, refurbished and made safe and keep these

old wooden masterpieces. (Of course, fire any drunk captain and train a crew for safety)

Why be in SE Asia with all it's local flavor and want to replace everything with European Stuff?????

I travel to the island weekly and will continue to do so.......
