I didnt bribe a doctor, or anybody else, yet a received first class treatment/ care in a government hospital.

Communication with doctors/ nurses, not a problem.

Good to hear. Do you mind me asking, for the China Virus?

If things got to Italy levels though...

  2. In the event of hospitalisation, I'm wondering the differences between being Thai and being a foreigner. Cost, level of care...

Do you think a hospital would prioritise a Thai patient over a foreigner, where medically the foreigner would have a better chance of survival, for example, younger. Or does it all come down to who can pay?

& worried about their aged parents who look after them-------they were always going to head home.

I am reading that a lot of the east Europeans are doing  the same thing in London as  it closes up.

Its older people that are most at risk, I understand they miss and are worried about their parents, but bringing the virus home is worse. Apparently this is why the death toll was so high in Italy, families living under one roof, elderly members getting it worst.

The gov should have stepped in with some sort of support package, rent relief for its own citizens.

  4. Passport, visa, stolen. I have copies of the visa, 90 day stamp, police report and did pay for a re-entry permit before I left Thailand. I took a break from the burning season.

Option 1. Go to immigration and see if I can get it replaced. They should have a copy of my re-entry permit.

Option 2. Apply again, takes 6 weeks for paperwork, and hope that I can exit around then to apply for a new one in Vientiane.

Not sure if option 1 is possible and don't want to have to go to immigration if there's no point.

Option 2, airports could still be locked down in 6 - 7 weeks. What then? I came in on a 30 day stamp and my extension will be up around then.

  6. Long story short, passport and 1 year ED visa was robbed while I'm in Africa.

School says it will take them 6 weeks to apply again, after I receive my new passport which is hopefully today. Its over 2 weeks now to get it, and 2 weeks ago, I wasn't too worried.

Now all these countries are closing borders...

The school can DHL me the paperwork, so I just need to be in country with a Thai embassy (there's none here)

I was planning on heading to Taipei, but they've just shut borders to all foreigners.

My options are getting smaller. They recommend Vientiane, but I don't like the idea of spending 6 weeks there. Or there's Bali?

Lets say I'm in Bali or Vientiane, and 6 weeks later, Thailand closes its borders to all foreigners, I should be able to enter with my new ED visa, right?

    What a ball ache.
