This is why it's great to be a business in Thailand!!!!!! These farangs come here, give me 100,000,000 billion baht and then IF they complain I will sue them for 100 zillion baht and throw them in jail.
These farangs love not having rights. The farangs love being controlled. The farangs enjoy not being able to do or say anything. And these farangs keep coming.......wow, really not very clever these people. soon farangs will be jailed if not tip and leave me best review ever.
utter dribble.

Agree entirely, damned if I'd pay 6000bt a night to stay there, sounds like a horrible place to stay.
Yeah I would not pay 6k a night there either, the price of 5000 for 2 nights however.... I will enjoy my weekend away !!

It should tell you something about the hotel, considering the resort name: '' Sea View Resort'' in Chiang Mai ???
Where in Chiang Mai is Koh Chang ?

yes ..... he was probably half cut to begin with and refused the corkage charge, then puts misrepresentative reviews on websites because he was cheezed off.
He deserves the defamation suit.
Once he gets out of jail he's gunna need some corkage to help him not soil his pants every time he coughs or sneezes !

Correct. Sadly, there are many people here with a similar mentality as the American.
I often wonder why these people even stay in Thailand? ... Complain every day about Thai laws and blaming everything on Thai people, but still choose to stay here..
Honesty, it's embarrassing especially when you know that Thai people come to this forum and read all of this stuff. What must they think ?I reckon a fair percentage of posters on this forum are not even in Thailand.

If his complaint about the corkage fee was transparently stupid, adding being arrested, threatened with imprisonment, fine and lawsuit will be seen sympathetically, at least in America. He was arrested at his workplace so you can add being sacked to that list !!

Sooooo, now you can’t even post negative reviews without facing arrest? How else are people going to find out a business is ????? What’s the point of reviews if they only allow for positive ones and prosecute those who post negative ones? I’ll certainly make a note and never stay at this place.
You can write a bad review but personal attacks on the staff and accusing the place of "modern day slavery"..... well that will get you into the doo doo real quick.

Having the fella imprisoned is not a good advert for the hotel or it’s owners I certainly wouldn’t stay there knowing what happened and let’s face it 6,000 baht per night is pretty expensive during this pandemic
I think it is great, these internet bullies need to dealt with.
and FWIW I booked a 2 night stay and the cost is Bt.5,000.

Agreed but it rarely warrants them getting arrested for it.
To be fair though Americans are not singled out by this law as it applied is to all nationalities who run their mouth/keyboard and defame a business or person.

Certainly no surprise that you would defame an entire nationality due to the acts of one individual either.
To be fair though American's are renowned for being loud and outspoken.

I say, go for the 800b one. The 300b one probably will do the job, but my experience is that all those cheap tools will have some parts that are made from plastic and will break easily. I would not buy the cheapest of the cheapest personally when it comes to spinning tools.
I reckon they will all have plastic parts that will break easily, I purchased a Makita one as the brushes were also readily available.

To be fair though you dont get that extra 2 years unless you maliciously run your mouth on the internet defaming a business , any surprises in this instance the person in question is American !!

I dont go to Ford.
they come to me.
I purchased my new Ranger via email and it was delivered to me.... Ford peeps came to me to do the paperwork.

That contradicts the commonly held notion that the not so clever Thai business owner when faced with low occupancy and a dwindling footfall will hike their prices before countenancing any discounts. Having said that, earlier comments indicate that getting a decent price break on a new vehicle is no longer the complete unknown it used to be. Maybe the sales staff actually put down their smartphones when a farang customer walks in these days. As you say, be prepared to hit up a lot more than just one or two dealerships for any marque.
you think ford pricing is set by somchai the independent dealer ?

That's because in Thailand the car is usually dead long before that...so there is only one service, and it's called a funeral...
And yet other markets the Ranger is sold into has the same service intervals.
stop being a dick for the sake of being a dick.

it has been a while since i have bought a new car and i was a little surprised that the first service was 15,000 km.
i was thinking more like at least half of that.
Ive already done an oil and filter change.... am not comfortable with 15k service intervals.

Nice, so the junior suite is Bt.2880 per night and the Deluxe Family room is Bt.4050 per night.
Thanks for proving my point.
I cheaped out on the Grand Deluxe Sea View room at Bt.2380 per night.
