  1. jaidam post # 3

What is it with local muslims that make them behave like animals? The Islamic states and caliphates in the rest of the world seem to exist in supreme harmony, peace and prosperity earning Islam the moniker "religion of peace". Come on Thai Islamists, stop letting your religion down.

One is led to wonder whether it is all due to local or non local Muslims. In my experience of Muslims I've always found them decent down to earth sorts as is the case with many other creeds too.Yes there are extremists in all areas of religious s beliefs and other groups social or political, sport etc .

Plenty of evidence of anti abortion religious characters attacking staff at abortion clinics along with arson attacks, bigotry is not limited to one group.

However any discontent as may be stirred up could in the eye and minds of those involved in the attack embarrass the junta a little more and of course prompt outbursts of self righteous indignation among the western world. All rather interesting propaganda if one looks at it with more than one eye and an open mind. However bear in mind that now as from Sunday 29th of June in fact Ramadan is now upon Muslims and peace normally prevails.

One wonders whether, something, someone, somewhere is trying to engineer an ''action replay'' scenario. whistling.gif

Remember it didn't concern Thaksin when the 78 Thai Muslims died as a result of being''weak'' due to Ramadan fasting.whistling.gif

You are so full of shit look at what the Muslims are doing in Iraq now all because they want there own bigoted law . About time someone stood up to them. All they preach is poison.

  2. I think JT has been reading some of my previous posts...

There should be many defined routes in Pattaya, (about 10 in all), Baht Buses should have clear indication of what route they a working, the routes should be regulated so that a decent service is maintained, no turning off and having to go all the way to terminating point of the route.

There are too many BB's running empty, and too many overloaded, yet with intelligent regulation of the BB's the could run smarter, use less fuel, drive less miles, less of them on the roads at any time, drivers working less hour for the same income with less outgoings.Y

If the baht buses ran odd numbers on odd days and even numbers even days there would still be enough buses and not running around empty

    This is not rocket science.

  3. He is fidgeting, exhaling heavily and appears to be putting the story together on the spot. Don't know if this is normal for him or a result of the drugs but many people I have interviewed who act in this way are lying.

Is it normal practice for the BIB to video tape victims and post their faces on youtube.

    Mate he's full of it

  4. Seems that he had a spare necklace to wear when he went to report the incident at the police station.

They must have missed that one when the ladyboys turned over his room. Looks as though it could be about 3 baht as well.

Let's hope that Buddha gives him more protection if he goes out running again tomorrow.

(Accepting drinks from strangers is somewhat naive)

Sounds like bullshit to me cobber

  5. Thais love being out at night and who can blame them, the weather is much cooler. It will be interesting to see how strictly this will be enforced...

As an aside, I have not seen one soldier on patrol in Chiang Mai. Just my personal experience...

Yes: I saw two soldier stations (?) near the airport and one near Narrawat Bridge this morning.

Haven't seen a soldier In Pattaya

  6. It looks to me like part of the gift made 5 years ago is still subject to UK inheritance tax.

But firstly there is the 3,000 GBP a year gift allowance.

Secondly there is a nil tax threshold of 325,000 GBP.

And thirdly there is taper relief which reduces the tax by 60 or 80 percent in years 5 and 6 after the gift was made.

So probably some UK tax to pay at 40 pc on the gift.

So maybe the tax man will claw this back either from the UK estate, or maybe try and get it from the Thai giftee.

    One for the lawyers!.

Wake up people the house is in her name it's HERS

  7. Parents are held as worthy of great respect in Buddhism. This is because without them we would not have got this very precious human rebirth. Therefore it is merituous to look after them, and very bad karma to cause them to suffer. It is said that the only way we can repay the debt we owe them is, if they are going upon a wrong way, creating bad karma for themselves, and we are able to put them back upon the right track...thus saving them much future suffering.

Monkhood is seen as the high form of merit-making because that is following in the footsteps of the Buddha, our greatest teacher. An ordinary lay person keeps five precepts, one practicing more devoutly 8 precepts, a Novice monk ten precepts, and a monk 227 precepts. A monk therefore ranks high in the Buddhist ranking and worthy of great respect if he follows his rules and tries to give up the usual pleasures....( and if he doesn't is guilty of cheating the people and earns great bad karma.)

The Thais believe that parents who have a son ordained... as a monk or a novice...''climb up to heaven on the robes of their son''. Because women cannot ordain as monks the only chance they get to make a great amount of merit is to have their son ordain for a while.

What used to be done for all the right reasons, is now done out of custom. They think that the more money they spend on the ceremony, or donate to the temple, the more merit they get. This is wrong, but don't expect the monks to tell them this as they have now become so corrupted, and they themselves have grown up in this environment, that they often do not know what is correct, and are just happy to get lots of donations.

Temples now charge quite a lot of money for a family wanting to ordain their son as a novice or a monk.... absolutely wrong! All the partying and subsequent drinking and noise which disturbs people, including gambling, drunkenness, dancing girls, etc. have nothing to do with the ordination, and in fact cause the people to lose any merit they might have made and possibly also create bad karma for themselves.

But don't expect any Thais to agree with me....they will say that as a farang i know nothing...since they were born Buddhist and I was not....even when i was a monk that was often their attitude (certainly that of many Thai monks.)

I don't get the monks, I was at a cremation yesterday in Phitcit and some the monks where walking around smoking and after the burn the monks had a party and music and a smoking and drinking, now I don't know if this normal or not but wasn't a good look to me, there was about 40 monks at the burn.

  8. Yeah my girlfriend is more of a person to ask if the girl is good AFTER the person has been found. She can judge the character she just isn't sure where to find them.

His cousin recently married a thai girl he met on the Internet. I'm sure he's not completely against that.

He did say she can have kids already just no awkward husband situation. The thing is most of us aren't even aware of these scenarios till after we meet the girl.

My girlfriend made me think she was more normal but then you start to unearth the good stuff.

Lol. Anyways. I'm not looking for perfect here nor is he. Let's simplify it. Where to find a good girl as opposed to a bar girl.

What's wrong with bar girl I've been with one for 6 years

  9. do tourists really come here specifically for songkran? or do they just happen to be here during songkran? before i lived here i had no idea about songkran. is songkran really that widely known about outside thailand?

Same as you I've lived here 6 years and never heard of it before I came and I never here of it when I go home, myself and most of my friends leave Pattaya when it's on it goes to long bloody moron Falangs.

  10. I was divorced 3 times while in the U.S.: two Jewish American Princesses (JAP) and a Phillipina American Princess (PAP). On each of the 3 ocassions, my wife at the time and I used the same attorney to handle the divorce which was uncontested and amicable. Save the legal fees and find the right woman - they're out there if you're patient and shoot straight.

Re. OP's "Save the legal fees and find the right woman ..." With three marriages ending in three divorces, I wouldn't say this guy's good at finding the "right woman" ... also, evidently he's much better at spotting fake jewelry that fake orgasms.

    Couldn't have said it better.
