  1. Exactly and he even admits he has been losing money the past two years and have had to sell off personal assets to survive. At “great” investment for sure… Hope for him that he can keep getting other peoples money in to cover the losses and tourism does return very fast. Otherwise the “business plan” could crumble very fast.
  2. If it is such an amazing opportunity, then why does he need other peoples money to “invest/risk”?
  3. Just as realistic as me getting the money back I borrowed to my Mia Noi.
  4. I don’t mind they don’t legalize porn, as long as they keep the ping-pong shows as a part of “Thai-culture”…
  5. OMG! Finally someone with common sense, who is not afraid of speaking out. Hope he does not end up in attitude-adjustment camp, because he surely qualifies.
  6. Highly recommend that you do not do the setup a company option. Although it is very cheap and easy to setup, it is way more time-consuming/expensive to run and especially close down again.
  7. Having lived abroad most of my life and with nothing in my home country to return to, this is what I can advise you to do: 1. You need to make a clear Plan A, B and C. so that you know what to do in different future situations. It will not solve your problems, but it will reduce your daily stress. Also it is important that you face and accept reality. Plan B and C will most likely not be part of your “dreams”, but will be what you need to do if Plan A does not work out. 2. Money! You need to make as much money and possible. Work day and night if needed. With enough money everything is possible and it’s the only way to survive long-term abroad. 3. Get vaccinated! Not only does it enable you to travel if needed, but you also need to consider medical costs if you get really sick from Covid. That said, you should know that living “your dream” abroad is not an easy thing. And it will get even harder the older you get, when you e.g. have kids, get sick etc. If you are able to and can not make enough money online, I would consider going back to your home country, work hard and build up some savings. Then return later, when your position is more stronger. Good luck.
  8. Agree. It has even been in decline pre-covid and especially since the coup in 2014. Unfortunately, Covid closed down the inflow of Chinese Group Tours, which is what this government really wants. Great financial benefits for the few involved. With no political changes in sight, I see Thailand facing not only more financial trouble, but also becoming more closed to especially the surrounding None-Asian world. Those in power will however become extremely rich over the coming years and the poor only suffers more. We all know that blaming others is an important way to save face here. So would not be surprised if “the white people”, will end up being blamed for most of it.
  9. Well at least we know from past news that tourists from Sweden seem to not mind this. And also soon rich Indians will arrive. So no worries really…
  10. So the circle has completed and we are back at the rich Indians idea. Let’s me take a “wild” guess. Next week the rich Russians?
  11. And we all know how complicated it will be to apply for these new visas schemes. First of all, the rules will be interpreted differently depending on where you live. Many officials will not even know or understand the rules. Besides that, the local officials are still super corrupt and would likely pull off their “tricks” as soon as they find out you are rich. Not to mention the rules can be changed at any time, meaning you can lose it all instantly and do nothing about it. Conclusion: Anyone doing large investments here need their head examined.
  12. I am ready for domestic travel. In Chiang Mai now and would like to go to Phuket. I am double vaccinated, but my 7 year old son is not. I can’t find any info online on if he needs tests or not? If he does, I won’t go now. Do anyone know if kids his age needs tests, if traveling on domestic flights??
  13. Well if TAT is correct in their predictions, then the Multi-millionaires like this kind of environment. Thats why they will soon be coming and investing millions of dollars in overpriced real estate, to get long-term visas.
  14. Well I don’t blame you. I am also planning on moving on. Which I actually never thought I would. Always felt Thailand was my home. Currently on an Elite Visa which will expire next year. Not going to renew it. Could also get a retirement visa here, but I can’t be bothered. Considering Philippines, Georgia or Belize as my next destination as a place to “hang out” with my son for a few years. Can always return to Thailand, if things should change to the better here. But hope to find a place that would fit us better in the long run. I too have spent and invested a lot in my life in Thailand. Have no regrets, but I realize I need a break from this “mad-house”. No doubt Covid has been the main contributor to me changing my views of Thailand. But I have also seen so many other changes to the bad, especially since 2014. And I think it is getting worse every day. No only for the foreigners here, but also the locals. Will another place be less “mad”? I doubt it, but at least it will be a breath of fresh air and new life-experiences ????
  15. Maybe a hint in relation to the real number of Covid deaths in Thailand, could be found looking at the excess deaths, which is recall i around 30k. Since not many are tested while alive, I would presume that even fewer or close to none are tested after they died.
  16. I would recommend Sippa Hotsprings Resort. (Google it). No idea if they are open now.
  17. No matter what, their current ways of doing things will not beat the virus and it’s a complete waste of resources. Many double vaccinated tourists will just catch the virus during their holiday, which then results in a never ending hunt for those and resources used to isolate people that are not even sick. That for sure will scare even more tourists away and hurt the economy further. The virus can not be beaten. It has won and the “zero covid” agenda is simply not working. It’s amazing they can not get this into their heads and make them stop trying to fight an impossible battle.
  18. Don’t worry….. Soon loads of very rich tourists will drop by your stand for a quick Pad Thai take-away, before they fly off in their helicopters to make more investments around the country. Happiness Is coming…
  19. Sure they will be better off farming than if they had to go to war. These “ladyboys” aren’t really war-material…
  20. Wish they had been “stuck at home” just after their lab-leak instead. Would have saved the world a lot of trouble…
  21. This is soo funny and at the same time it’s complete madness. For sure will not help in getting back the much needed tourists. For god sake. Just require bar guests to be double vaccinated and limit the amount of guests allowed. How hard can it be to use a bit of common sense and at the same time not completely destroy the local economy??
  22. So what? The people arriving are double vaccinated and even though they have Covid, they are unlikely to cause any stress on the hospitals. When will the government understand that they can not win over the virus? Covid is everywhere and will always be so. Stop wasting time on testing and counting people that already double vaccinated. Just focus on getting everybody vaccinated and make sure enough boosters are available. And then get in with normal life. Count the people that are not vaccinated instead and make sure they get the vaccine or enforce any restrictions on them instead.
  23. Making restrictions for vaccinated people is just plain stupid as they are not the problem. The problem is all the people refusing the vaccine and thereby delaying any progress back to “normal” life. So make sure everybody has access to vaccines. Open the country up fully for those who are vaccinated and enforce strict measures for those who refuse. Let them live with the restrictions, until they wake up and get smarter. It is simply the only way forward. This perfectly modified virus is not going away and we our only way back to a somewhat normal life is the vaccines. And then at some point, bring out the calculator, make sure especially China, but also USA receives an invoice for all the trouble and that they both stop playing around with (and stop funding) corona virus development in the future. Just leave the damn bats alone!!!!!
  24. With low testing and general fear of being tested positive they should stop the random testing, if they want things to stay open.
  25. Pretty much describes the feeling I have every time I visit my home country. For me the absolutely best thing about Thailand is the weather. Of course there are other benefits, but not something I could also find in other warm climate countries. Personally I am planning a couple of years break from Thailand, when Covid allows it. Looking at moving to The Philippines or maybe Belize. I am a bit bored with Thailand now. After most of my living years in warm climate I will for sure never return to my home country.
