  1. Well spending the money on that, will for sure not remove the food-lines with poor people. Wonder what would really be best for tourism?
  2. Who wants to go a place where you can get arrested for having a glass of wine with your steak dinner and have to go to bed at 9pm because everything is closed? There are Muslim countries more holiday-friendly than Thailand right now..
  3. The private schools problems are due to greed and the inability to downsize and adapt financially to the pandemic situation. My sons private school provided awful online classes and demanded full payment. They even had us pay for summer school upfront, then canceled and did not refund. When you provide less service and expect the same payment, parents will of course unregister their kids. Other private schools have been smart, by lowering their costs and providing fair discounts to the parents. I do not feel sorry for any of the closed schools. They were simply just too greedy.
  4. If me I would just forget about it and get on with life… From my experience you only get into more trouble every time you try to do the right thing here. They always find a way.
  5. Funny, I have actually been looking at Georgia too, when my visa expires here. Seems so much easier than Thailand.
  6. Rolex (Pendulum) in CM. They often have several popular models in stock or can get them. They will however not sell them to you, unless you buy a high-priced other Rolex watch. You can get on a waiting list here, but it is basically worth nothing. The deal is buy two to get the one you want. (If a popular model is involved)
  7. I did this 6 months ago. Bought a THB 1,3 mill. Pearlmaster and skipped the waiting-list for a “Kermit” at retail price. That’s how it works at my local AD here. Want a popular sports model? Then buy something else first.
  8. Thailand has historically mostly attracted backpackers, digital nomads, middle-class families and sex-tourists. They should stick to what they have been good at, because nobody rich and with common sense would invest millions here. Right now they should be happy if they can get just 1 million poor people to visit.
  9. And that is the exact problem! Holidays should not be complicated at all. Neither before, during or after…. And besides that who wants to risk getting arrested for drinking alcohol on their holiday or being dragged of to an expensive quarantine hotel, if tested positive? No normal person or family wants to risk that. As long as they keep these crazy rules in place, tourism is dead here.
  10. Okay so AFTER Thailand is put on the red list, because of his lack to order vaccines and people dying unnecessarily because of this… he is NOW praised for finally doing his job?? <deleted>??
  11. Reason why I got security cams all over my house (inside and out). I want to be able to protect myself if ever any problems. Installed after my now former lazy bipolar 24 year old step-son punched me in the face in my house, when I asked him to clean his room. Of course he lied and claimed self-defense, which could have resulted in trouble for me, had I punched him back. Thank god I did not do that. Now should he ever turn up again, I can beat the <deleted> out of him, without worries.
  12. If you apply Thai-logic to the whole thing, the Farang guy could very easy end up in jail and with nothing left, when this is over. No matter what really happened.
  13. Buying furniture is actually the only thing I regret about my marriage and house purchase. A complete waste of money.
  14. People being arrested for having sex and drinking… Muslim counties could end up being more fun…
  15. Don’t worry… soon 1 million rich Indian tourists will come and save the day… ????
  16. Next is lady drinks and bar fines… when business is down raise the prices. Just Thai-logic.
  17. If you have the cash and looking for a “none-popular” model, then I recommend you to buy it from an official dealer here. Because if you do that, you will get the opportunity to buy a popular model at the same time at retail price. If you choose the right popular model, you can then resell that right after with huge profit and you will be left with a very cheap Rolex for yourself. You will be amazed of how easy a dealer can get a brand new popular model for you, when you buy two watches at the same time here.
  18. Cases like this is just one of the reasons I have video-cams installed in every room of my house. Should you one day need to protect yourself from an intruder or a girlfriend/wife with a knife, then at least you have some documentation.

    Domestic travel

Anyone know where I can find reliable and updated information on domestic travel requirements? I am double vaccinated and would like to travel from CM to BKK (and return) Are there any restrictions or requirements? Where is this info available??? Thanks ????
  22. To improve education, you have to want change, admit fault and also have a desire to learn from previous mistakes. It could even require asking none-Thais for help, which for many would be considered “losing face” As this does in no way fit into the mindset of most Thais over 30 and for sure not those in power, there is no chance of things changing anytime soon. So Thailand basically has the options of tourism, low cost production or farming. And that’s it, unfortunately.
