  1. They won't be a minority soon. Why not give them winter proof tents?
  2. We make our own reality, it's your mode of thinking that is making things difficult. As Shakespeare wrote, 'Nothing is good or bad, only thinking makes it so'.
  3. A bit of a silly Billy, I've read that Cambodian prisons are worse than those in Thailand.
  4. There's a lot of unbiased financial podcasts out there, the dollar has fallen over 9% this year and the last treasury sale only brought in half of what was expected and needed, nobody wants dollar T bills anymore so the government has to borrow another 50 billion to make up the shortfall, worldwide trade using dollars has fallen to 50%, you wont hear that on Fox news. Bloomberg reports currency traders are ditching dollars for Euros in trading options
  5. until it's no longer in the news. He was under the influence of drugs while driving and threatened someone with a rifle, he should be in prison. Is nobody asking why he took a military style weapon with ammo to pick up his wife?
  6. Yes it's my generalization, I don't know anybody who has died from covid, my uneducated opinion is that covid is a bad case of flu, if you are healthy to begin with you have little to fear from it.
  7. I think coups are so 'yesterday' Thailand is more entrenched in international politics and trade these days, a coup would be financial bad news, especially for tourism.
  8. No to both questions. I'm not against vaccinations per se but I find the dangers of covid to be exaggerated.
  9. Why shoot cats (which is illegal) and why would he need 3 weapons? Perhaps he was selling on to criminal elements.
  10. Why would the prat need 3 weapons and why 3 silencers?
  11. So he's a farang but by the looks of him he's of dubious heritage.
  12. If that's his girlfriend in the pic I'm not surprised, probably a rupture.
  13. You're right, there would be hundreds of thousands of American citizens who would be only too willing to take their place working on the land or in abattoirs for a minimum wage.
  14. Which is in itself thought provoking that one has to speak at the level of a 4th grader to be understood, perhaps more money should be spent on education.
  15. What is obvious at the moment is that due to the chaotic unpredictable policies of the USA other countries don't want to buy American debt anymore. During this year a part of the American debt (37 trillion dollars) namely 9 trillion has to be rolled over but there seems to be a lack of interest in the traditional buyers, on the contrary these past reliable buyers (China and Japan) are selling the debt they already have. If raising the interest to be paid on that debt to ridiculous levels doesn't tempt buyers the Fed will have to step in further reducing confidence in the dollar. What's the point of getting 5% interest from the USA on bonds if the dollar depreciates by 10%. Gold and BRICS are throwing a giant spanner in the works and it would seem that the dollar is losing its status as a reserve currency, countries are starting to do business by accepting each others currencies. Saudi Arabia has already shown that the petro dollar is dead. Even with Trump gone trust in the rule of law in the USA has died an ignoble death. A fine example of the Buddhist principle that all is impermanent.
  16. In my defense....Thailand was mentioned. Next time I'll send you a copy and you can redraft it for me, don't want to increase your irritability.
  17. That's reserved for western nutters, no cultural appropriation please, ghosts are the Asian equivalent that's quite OK.
  18. The people in the West are experiencing the same thing and have been for years, the deterioration in living standards in falang land have been gradual but persistent, in Thailand it hasn't been so well orchestrated because it's beyond the governments control due to external events.
