  1. Stealing wood from the forest is as heinous as any crime committed against an individual or a corporation. Why is it that some Thai people think it's Ok? When I lived in Australia I never thought about stealing wood from the state forest. What's wrong with these people?

You're posting in the wrong thread, this report says nothing about theft from a "state forest". It's a report about apparently legally imported timber.

  2. A tad unfair, yes, but they're not losing out I believe, just not making as much as they expected.

I'd be interested to know "who" has stakes in RS . . . I have my suspicions . . .

    1. Mr. Surachai Chetchotisak Chairman / Chief Executive Officer

    2. Mrs. Pornpan Techarungchaikul Director / Secretary to the Board of Directors and Company Secretary /Chief Operating Officer

    3. Mr. Darm Nana Director / Chief Financial Officer

    4. Mr. Danaisidh Peslapunt Director / Executive Vice President – Central Legal Office

    5. Mr. Sorat Vanichvarakij Director

    6. Mr. Sutthisak Prasatkrarukarn Director / Managing Director, Thai Copyright Collection Co.,Ltd.

    7. Mr. Phisit Dachanabhirom Independent Director and Audit Committee Chairman

    8. General Pairoj Panichsamai Independent Director and Audit Committee

    9. Associate Professor Witaya Danthamrongkul Independent Director and Audit Committee

    Where your suspicions correct?

  3. It's not the students' fault, Apitha, it's the system's fault, and the culture's fault. Fix those - ha! - and the students will learn. So forget about it. Thais will always be hopeless at English. Always. Forever.

"Fix those - ha! - and the students will learn"

"Thais will always be hopeless at English. Always. Forever."

    Bit of self-contradiction there, Einstein.

  4. One of the negatives ,i suppose of never been colonized by Britain,

and they would have had an extensive and working rail system, also

maybe a better system of law.

    regards Worgeordie

Thailand does have a very extensive rail network that works and a perfectly good legal system as has been shown since the military took over. It's the people that interfere with that system you should be having a go at.

  5. What an idiot getting caught twice in 2 weeks for the same offences in the same location. Enjoy your extended stay in the Hilton.

What's with the cops turning up with a search warrant and they don't even know the address.

"Not sure which apartment he lived in, they asked a Thai woman who was going into the building who she was going to visit. By lucky coincidence she said she was going to visit Coutelas"

Surely they would have checked all the intel prior to going there and surely his details and address are recorded on the database from his previous arrest. What's with taking civilians on a police raid the bloody morons, the guy the are going to arrest has a history of firearms and you ask a civilian if they want to tag along.

    "...police... the bloody morons,..."

Seems like those "bloody morons" made a successful arrest without harming anyone though, eh?

  6. Ridiculous you don’t even get that for murdering 10 people on an expressway with no licence or insurance….or murdering hundreds in an unlicensed noodle soup shop called Santika

    Idiotic Thailand as per usualsick.gif.pagespeed.ce.tVTSNn-2vr.png

"Ridiculous you don’t even get that for murdering 10 people on an expressway..."

Could you remind us which incident you're referring to, 10 people murdered? There was a traffic accident that had a similar outcome, but I'm pretty sure there was no murder.

This couldn't be an idiotic post, as per usual?

  7. Just go to the airport with 20,000 baht in your pocket, check in for your flight, proceed to departure immigration and inform the officer that directs people to the lines that you are on overstay. You will then be directed to the overstay office where they will take your money stamp your passport and give you a receipt for the 20k baht and then proceed to the gate for your flight.

If you to an immigration office with the 20k baht they might very well tell you to go to the airport and leave paying your fine on departure. Or you would pay the fine, apply for a 7 day extension, pay 1900 baht for it and get a stamp giving you 7 days to leave the country.

"If you to an immigration office with the 20k baht they might very well tell you to go to the airport and leave paying your fine on departure."

...or they may not. They may arrest you, charge you with overstaying and have you appear in court, which will involve a stay in IDC, something that you really do not want to experience. It's a big gamble. Just keep a low profile and pay at the airport.

  8. This is a 'reactive' country. Don't ask for any maintenance on anything until people are dead....or as in this case 900 people get sick. Just surprises me more people don't get sick or die from such things every day. Ever walked around any public Hospitals and seen the filthy toilets, broken or missing taps, no tissue, leaking stagnant water pipes ? And this is where people are supposed to be made better !

This is a thread about an incident at one specific school. Why are you attempting to bring every Thai public hospital into disrepute with unfounded accusations by posting nonsense (such as "leaking stagnant water pipes") when no such incident has occurred?

  9. ""They are common causes of diarrhoea. Usually, they don't cause any other severe symptoms or death," Sopon said."

Usually one doesn't die from it. That's a comforting thought.

Perhaps watertanks of all schools and other institutions should be checked for cracks. Prevention is better than the occasional deads.

"Prevention is better than the occasional deads."...that they don't cause, as you stated yourself.

  10. After Bantawa failed to do as promised, the damaged persons filed a complaint

Is the nation using Google translate now ?

Obviously not, Google usually results in non-sensical translation and the one you quoted is perfectly good English.

I don't think it is ever likely that the whole nation will be using Google Translate, in this instance it's just The Nation newspaper.

  11. I doubt very much that the UK govt at one of their all time financial lows paid for his passport and his flight back here, can you tell me on what grounds David Cameron and his associates sought to do such a tremendous thing.

One less burden on the already crippled welfare system,I doubt very much.

And people have the audacity to knock my being cynical.

Hardly any wonder with some of the things one reads on here.

Agreed not a hope in h*ll the British government paid for a PP and ticket

He person concerned has conned a relative or friend to pay for it

And the UK Government deporting a UK citizen from the UK sounds a tad fanciful, I think.....

Of course it is, a UK citizen cannot be deported from UK, although he doesn't say he was deported.
