  1. Glad it's sorted.  It's the ability for Google to get its tentacles in to everything that I never use Google to sign in to anything (or Facebook).  Despite that Google still seems to find ways to become a nuisance; currently in the process of disentangling myself from everything Google and deleting everything everywhere I can think of (and yes Google I MEAN delete, not Archive!).

    Indeed.

The main reason for doing the report was because I had different experience to couple of recent reports at CW.

    Of significance was that ..

I did not have or provide a TM30.

I did not provide a receipt of 90 day report.

Only photocopies of bankbook pages required along with letter.

I did not provide "hand drawn map"

One set of copies ie passport photocopies.

Interesting update.  Are you using the 800K deposit method?

  3. When I set my tag up it took me AGES to get through to someone who actually knew what they were doing.  All of the regular support channels were a waste of time, Twitter, Facebook and Email.  When I finally got a reply from someone who understood the system and what needed to be done, it was from a guy called Indrek J.  Whether he is still there I'm not sure but the drone staff might be able to see where they need to refer the problem too if they can trace the department he was / is in.

Interesting that, @Pib thinks tagging will always result in routing going via Bangkok Bank even if you select Kasikorn

I guess it must be how it gets set up and who does it.    I recall it was a bit of saga to get it set up as the TW general staff seemed pretty clueless, they had to refer it to a manager.  Possibly that person tagged it in a different way. Obviously as it was all working as I wanted it to I haven't wasted time checking, as I won't now IF it's all still working.

Regardless, in my case (at least up to last time) any transfer to Bangkok Bank showed up the next day at approx 2pm as an FTT / International Tx.  Any transfer to Kasikorn is instant, no idea what it shows up as, haven't looked since I changed to Bangkok Bank for this very reason.

Did you choose Long term stay? if so it might be useful

Yes.  I had my account tagged to only use Bangkok Bank for transfers to Bangkok bank and I always select 'Funds for long term stay'.  In all honesty though, I think it was the tagging that resulted in the routing only through Bangkok Bank rather than the funds reason.  Once I had that tag put on the funds would only go via Bangkok bank for a Bangkok Bank transfer and would always show as FTT, and that was before the 'Long Term Stay' reason was added to the list after this FTT part became an issue.  I only got them to tag Bangkok Bank transfers though so if ever I send to my Kasikorn account it arrives instantly.  Only noticed this thread today so will be interested to see if their system update has messed up my tag as well.

I'll know by tomorrow if all is working as it should.

  6. Just did a small test transfer GBP to Bangkok Bank. It did not immediately credit to my account (as it does when I use Kasikorn) but whether that's due to today being a holiday I'm not sure.  App indicates funds will be paid out tomorrow so I'll see then.  Was going to test to see if a Kasikorn transfer would show up instantly still but I try to avoid having two transfers active at the same time.  Fingers crossed.

  7. After receiving emails and messages from numerous support personnel today saying that 'Request Certificate' was available for ALL customers, foreign or not, finally I got a reply saying that the function is NOT in fact available for foreigners.  Why am I not surprised ????  The mail did indicate that the matter has been passed to the relevant department for the problem to be addressed but I'll take that with a pinch of salt to be honest.  Wouldn't have thought it would be too hard to activate the functionality for foreign customers as well IF there was a will to do so, but then again TIT!

  8. Useful and detailed report.  First time I noticed the TM30 being paid attention to recently was when I did my first 90 Day after doing the stamps transfer into a new passport.  It had been so long since anyone bothered with it that I just kept the TM30 from years back in the back of my passport, of course that had never been post dated (signature and stamp) since my last entry.  The IO wasn't that bothered then just told me to update it online but luckily I had actually done a TM30 after my last entry using the mobile app and showed her the screen (now printed out and attached in the back of the passport.

  9. Thanks for this update, a route I was pondering for the next trip but on balance I think I'll stick to BTS Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station / taxi as my preferred option.  Single BTS trip to the station from Asok then a taxi to CW for about THB 60-70 and around 10 minutes, primary objective for me is being ease and to cut down on trudging around in urbania.  Second preference, before Covid, was always the BTS to Victory Monument then bus direct to the door, also very easy but less desirable these days both with Covid around and, particularly, with all the road works that have been going on with the ensuing chaos and delays.  Tried all the different MRT to Mo Chit then taxi or bus and even the mini vans followed by motocy but that route can involve a bit of waiting around and I've been unlucky a couple of times with traffic being a pig from Mo Chit to CW.  At least it's easier than it was now, thankfully only once a year.

In France, we do not have a middle name (only supplemental first names parents used to give you at birth: I am not sure they still do) and up until now I have left that particular box empty and haven't had any problem with it. Now, if they require a middle name, what should I do?

The Immigration department notes in the comments section merely said 'resubmit with your full name' not 'resubmit with a first and middle name', as long as it matches what's in your passport I would think that would be all that's needed, it can't really be anything else.  If you don't have a middle name, leave it blank.

  11. Indeed, even postal is a time sink I'd rather not have.  Buddy of mine was in a similar position, he went to MTT earlier this year though and did a report in person and asked the IO to check why he couldn't do the report online, not sure of the precise details but he said the IO could see there was a problem and called her boss over, she apparently disabled one record and entered all the info again and he's now able to report online.  That 'fix' may well not work for everyone though as everyone's circumstances are different.  Worth a shot though maybe?

I've never understood why those boxes aren't asterisked when they need that information. Just carelessness when the system was set up I guess. I was once amazed to get a phone call from a very nice woman at immigration (CW) who told me I'd missed one of those boxes. She told me she would reject it and I could resubmit, which all went very smoothly. Excellent service.

For the last 5 years, in my case at least and, given previous advice, I suspect for others, they haven't actually 'needed' that information though.  As I said, for a long time the advice, in order to circumvent the problems countless people had (and in some cases are still having ) with trying to get 90 Day Online to work, was to only fill in the sections marked with a red asterisk and with regard to name that was just the surname. Once I find a method that works with things like this I tend to not revisit it until it doesn't.  From what Ubonjoe says though it does seem that the advice changed to best practice being to use the full name.  Had I come across that information I would likely have changed but I spend next to no time browsing these forums now, unless for a specific reason.  What we think Immigration need though and what they actually need may not be the same, again as I said, this is the first time in about 5 years I've had the report bounced for not filling in my full name.
