All the courier companies, FedEx, DHL, UPS etc. have an in-house customs department, every shipment is examined 100% to see if import duties apply.

Very titillating. </sarcasm>
The camera pervs could see more shoulder and top of ass crack at the beach.
Maybe it's James Brown?

The footage, which was apparently taken without the flight attendant′s knowledge, is currently being circulated on a number of websites.
I can't find the dam_n footage anywhere! Naturally, I just want to verify that the story is correct because I am deeply shocked at the revelations.
It has been removed according to the messages I am seeing - you can see Channel 7's coverage here for a bit of a taster...
Mind you, if that was my wife/girlfriend, I would want the footage removed too by the looks of things?!

Every time I ship something here by courier it's a hassle and I have to pay a lot in import duty, customs fees etc.
Every time I ship via regular post, package express it gets here almost as fast and is delivered without any drama or payment due.

It sounds like it's the taxi drivers running the place, not the tuk tuk drivers. The taxis are able to park illegally and nothing is being done about it. The tuk tuk drivers were upset the laws weren't being enforced fairly.
The police chief should have enforced the parking laws, not resign because the tuk tuk drivers wanted to break the same laws as the taxis.

I wrote a reply but I don't see it
This is not a problem you should self medicate
Go to a hospital and have blood tests and stool cultures done.
Let a doctor familiar with the bacterial infections here prescribe something that is effective.
Using a gram negative antibiotic against a gram positive infection is a waste of time and money and can be counter productive. Using one broad spectrum oral antibiotic when your treatment should be a combo of multiple IV antibiotics can make your problem more difficult to cure.

If you drive fast enough, you don't even need mirrors.
"What'sa behind me, isa not important"
I avoid all trouble on the road by being much faster than everyone else. It ain't hard here, so many slow <deleted>.

The only reason I can think of why the driver of the pickup truck would say it was just a "mix-up", after having an 18 wheeler ram him and knock him into the ditch it that he Was pointing a gun at the driver of the 18-wheeler.
Sometimes people just need to put their crack pipe down and chill the <deleted> out.

Go to the hospital! Sounds like infectious diarrhea to me. If you are passing little or no urine you probably have acute renal failure too, caused by dehydration and the infection. Treatment is 4-7 days multiple IV antibiotics.
If left untreated it can lead to multiple organ failure.
The hospital should admit you with a 20k฿ deposit or credit card charge.

I'd guess they had yield problems with their tapioca crops and had the soil analyzed and had found they had a macro or micronutrient deficiency and are supplementing the soil with N,P,K, Mg, Ca or whatever there wasn't enough of.

I think it was made clear above but just in case, reverse osmosis filters remove dissolved salts and other minerals, sodium, potassium , calcium, magnesium etc. A good RO system, with a prefilter for particulate and sediment and a charcoal filter for smells and organic components will produce pure water (0-40 ppm) from water containing the 5000 ppm water mentioned above.
Viri and radioactivity and some poisons are about the only things it won't remove. It will turn urine into potable water.
Single stage carbon or charcoal filters will remove sediment, ordors and some objectionable tastes but do noting to remove dissolved salts.
The problem with drinking water with 5g/L sodium chloride is if you drink 1L of water a day you're getting over twice the recommended sodium just in your water and will raise your blood pressure and can cause other health problems.

I'm not surprised the coax is corroding. In dry, inland climates I've seen corrosion on both the shield and inner conductor on cable less than 10 years old. Here my guitar strings ( brass, copper&zinc) start to corrode within a few weeks compared to months in temperate climates.

Bang Na will do express service for legalization of documents if you get there before 11:00. I was in line around 11:00 and finally helped around noon ( long line) and I still was able to pick up my copy before 3:00.
The whole process requires two days minimum.
Some amphurs also require a certified copy of your passport, translation and legalization. Check first at where you're planning on registering to be sure. I know of only one which requires it, the area around MBK in BKK (Phathum Wan?)

I'll bet there are far more posts from people complaining "What, another sin sod thread?" than there are with relevant/helpful/interesting information about the topic.
How hard is it to NOT read a thread that you're not interested in ?
All you have to do is not click. It isn't like you have to chase it out of your yard or anything...

Any idea where I can find an modular helmet (full-face, flip-up with chin guard) in Thailand?
I've looked online, bike shops, scooter shops and all I see are 1/2, 3/4 and solid full-face helmets.

I flew KLM from AMS-BKK once and had a return date 50 days out and no visa. The agent said I couldn't stay more than 30 days, I told her I was also going to KL and Hong Kong during the trip. She said "okay".

What you say is correct but I was applying to conduct business, not to work (2.2 not 2.1).
My first application was approved and I did not have the letter of approval as it was not listed as a requirement. I didn't see it anywhere on the list of required documents in the KL Thai embassy site either.
I wasn't aware of the papers required for 2.1 and it appears now that she initially thought I was applying under 2.1 but after I explained it further she realized it was 2.2.
If their form had a box to indicate "1" or "2" on it I don't think there would be this confusion. I'm sure I'm not the only applicant or IO who experienced this.
My lawyer suggested KL for the turnaround time, not the ease of approval. I only had 2 days free to get it done unfortunately.

I was there last week and had everything my lawyer had prepared for me to get a second 90 day B visa(required due to delays related to protests and government closures), all the same documents that I used to get my initial B Visa at a Thai consulate in the EU.
Instead of accepting my paperwork and money, they gave me back a piece of paper listing a requirement for a proof of permission from the ministry of labor that I didn't have and couldn't get until I had the visa.
They wouldn't talk to my lawyer on my phone about this catch-22, they asked him to call them. He called them, then me and said he couldn't convince them and he told me to get a tourist visa.
I went back to the same person I spoke with earlier and cajoled her into giving me the B visa.
It wasn't as straight forward as I was expecting. My lawyer suggested KL because it was supposed to be the fastest and easiest.
I'm assuming they have gotten more stringent recently.

In my opinion if you don't trust your wife/gf when it comes to matters of real estate, maybe it's time to reconsider your relationship.
I've been in long and short term relationships before, owned property and other assets and never once did I pre plan for what would happen if we split up. Every time we did separate it was always amicable and division of community property was fair and equitable.
My decades of interpersonal experience didn't evaporate the minute I stepped foot in Asia and I think it's bordering on racism to paint every Thai woman with the same brush.
If you're really concerned that's she's invested four years of her life just to con you out of money as another poster insinuated, buy a condo in your name. Or pay cash for a house in your gf's name and get a usufruct. Ask your lawyer but you could probably loan her the money for the house and let her buy it on her own and keep the loan agreement in your lawyer's safe.
I married a Thai woman, paid 50% down on a house, she got a mortgage for the balance and if we ever divorce she agreed we'd divide assets equally. I believe her. If I didn't I wouldn't be with her.
All the know-it-all cynics can keep their smart-assed, holier than thou comments to themselves thank you very much.

A 200% import tax sounds closer to being the explanation, no matter where I look, Moët is at least twice the price as it costs in the US and Europe.

What? A miserable million?
A decent guy marrying a Thai lady would give at least three times that and welcome.
Would take on a Huge family, all needing help, and be grateful. You forget this " </sarcasm> " at the end of your post, right?
So... congratulations to the happy couple!
? Right? Not sure what else is there to comment.
I got married two months ago and didn't get my own Thaivisa topic. Feeling a bit deflated now.
But did you pay 1 Million Baht Sinsot?

However, can we hope that despite the Media coverage, they will live happily ever after.
This story is just sensation, to sell, make profit.
How about the media expose corruption, or something like that - what their job really is? -
I think the main reason was failure to include a copy of the visa page of my passport and to make it clear that I've moved here. Next time I'm not going to include a copy if my US drivers license and make it clear I haven't lived there for many years.

I have a new 90 day B visa and should have my 1year soon. My lawyer is submitting the work permit application Monday and I think he said we were two weeks or do away. We're not leaving until mid April and the Visa process seems to less than a week from interview to receiving the visa but I don't want to wait until the last minute to book flights and hotels as it will be around Easter weekend.
Should I wait for my 1 year or is a well documented presentation with the 90 day good enough?
