There are plenty of visa options to stay in Thailand and if you are leaving for a cross border trip every 90 days then that is your problem for not complying with one of the many options that are made available. As for the actual 90 day reporting, it takes 5 minutes and is never an issue. If the UK had 90 day reporting for immigrants it would not face the same mess that as it does today. As for foreign criminals in Thailand, well its been a magnet for some, big and small and that is precisely why there are at least some controls in place. If you follow the rules and comply with their regulations you can fortunately stay here and enjoy your life. We are guests no matter how we live here.

A sad case indeed. Once again, left to the Thai's to sort it out. The resources and cleaning up the Thai's have to do with foreign visitors it is no wonder the Government insists on medical insurance.

Bolt drivers seem pretty harmless vs the now back on the road jacked up minibus drivers and tuk tuks with their insane driving habits and deafening sound systems. I wonder if they all have a public driving license. If they do ... 50% of them should have them revoked.

Personally, I don't touch the stuff. But my view is that the pendulum swung way too far to the left and into a full on free for all uncontrolled territory. That simply has potential repercussions at a minimum socially and economically. Medical use ... no problem. Smoking a bunch of high THC content joints and jumping into your 3.0L pickup and driving at 100kph .... nope. There needs to be balance and they are not there yet.

It was ill conceived idea from the start but the genie got out of the bottle. The original proposal was for medical cannabis with a THC content below 0.3 - hemp in other words. But of course no control and vague at best and now its a marijuana market free for all. Bars are selling the stuff, stalls in Central and shops everywhere. Madness.

You can't fix stupid.

PayPal have been holding $1,300 on our Biz Account for over a year and have done nothing to release the funds. They froze the accounts at the beginning of this mess over a year ago. They ignore emails and are in fact a defunct business that has for all intents and purposes frozen funds with no response. It is impossible to reach them. If and when I can release the funds, I will terminate the account and never use them again. Completely useless.

Hardly scratching the surface of crimes committed by foreigners in Thailand or those hiding in The Kingdom from crimes committed back home.

I believe that up until the Land Code Act of 1954, foreigners could own freehold land in Thailand. Later a Treaty for foreigners to own land was terminated in 1970 and there is no current treaty in place to allow this. So foreigners owning land in Thailand is nothing new - it was allowed in the past. The land is still here and has not gone anywhere. If managed correctly and sensibly, land ownership by foreigners can be a tremendous boost for the economy over the long-term albeit an emotional one.
