Restaurants told by Anutin: Once reopened there's no going back
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Standard NHS contributions deducted from the salary each month - you have the same type of contributions in Thailand under Social Security monthly deductions. I contribute every month. UK is free test kits, here you will pay for a test kit. -
Restaurants told by Anutin: Once reopened there's no going back
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is a lot of money to made in the antigen tests in Th and making them compulsory for testing. In the UK, you simply order online at the NHS and a max of two packs per week is delivered - all free of charge. -
Lawyer who leaked Joe Ferrari tape sued for defamation

Dangerous territory. Mr Decha cannot let the accusation pass and must defend his reputation against asking for a bribe. On the other hand, if Mr Sittha has evidence, the case could well backfire. -
England adds Thailand and Montenegro to travel red list
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Another stake in the barely beating Sandbox heart. I said at the outset that there were too many external dependancies beyond the Phuket arrival gate and hype to control plus those internal ones. From the comments at the time, it was clear the Hotel Association supporters, poo-pooed my "negative comments". Now there are barely any arrivals (most were early returnees and 93% of all bookings have been consumed). Between today and tomorrow, there will be an exodus of folks who will try and beat the Monday UK arrival deadline and then of course inward cancellations. Hong Kong has already added 3 weeks quarantine to Thailand arrivals. Madness on the part of the UK - Yes, especially if you are double vaccinated returning British National. Revenue gouging by a "corrupt" British Gov't to steer you into expensive hotels and more compulsory tests... you decide, especially given that there are 35,000 new infections every day in the UK. This is however, Thailand's price to pay for a low vaccinated population and not acting fast enough. Now for another prediction; It will be two years before we are back to some kind of normal on global travel. Why? Low global vaccination rates caused by short supply - there is simply not enough production for a global population ...... plus the extra supply needed for those booster shots (that's potentially another 7 Billion more on the near horizon) .... and a European winter is coming and that means the opportunity for new variants and more lockdowns. Oh, and if you thought you had the freedom to get on a play for that weekend away, that freedom is being taken away as well. Try and travel without a vaccine by the end of the year ..... very soon you won't be able to even board a plane or even enter another country. Stay curious. -
Fugitive police chief 'Jo Ferrari' surrenders
IamNoone88 replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
It will probably spun as a drug interrogation gone terribly wrong. A unfortunate incident, where they tried to extract information and then attempted to save the drug dealers life. Remember, this guy is a revenue generator. He has seniors and knows a lot of secrets, which should stay secret one way or the other. Much like a very expensive and complex Tourbillion watch, you can see the face, some of the mechanism but not all the mechanism and the minute moving parts. We have no idea how it all works together in one piece as it is complex and parts can be changed. This is this case now, high profile (the face), the video and the house (some of the parts) and the rest is all hidden with different parts touching other parts, some bigger, some smaller. -
The Malaysian property restriction quoted above is incorrect. Foreigners can by property in Malaysia without price restriction except for; Properties valued less than RM1 million Low and medium cost residential units as defined by state authority Properties standing on Malay Reserve land Properties allocated to Bumiputera group in any property development project as determined by state authority You can also apply for residency and own a landed property in Malaysia, unlike Thailand. I would expect more accurate reporting for AREA if using Malaysia as a comparison.

Phuket sees over 20,000 int’l arrivals during Sandbox
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Correct. The this was early collateral damage. However, the Sandbox has not contributed to any high street economic recovery. The sandbox was created by the hotel association for the hotel association. According to my source, the hotels actually performed better under domestic tourism. If Jungceylon remains closed, that is good barometer to how business views potential arrivals. -
TAT proposes paying part of quarantine bill for tourists

The only sign of desperation that I can see is from the TAT itself. -
Phuket sees over 20,000 int’l arrivals during Sandbox
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It works for the hotel association and their restaurants/outlets. Very little else is open. This was created by the association for the association. Most local business have lost their shirts, capital and savings. They have little or no funds to even contemplate starting again. This economic hangover is going to continue for another year at least. -

Thai police clash with protesters near PM's residence
IamNoone88 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
After successive, "incompetent" administrations, it doesn't seem to make a difference who is in charge. It a rinse and repeat cycle ending everytime with allegations of nepotism, corruption and lack of economic progress. The old guard is replaced by a new guard and the same old Thai politics adjusts and horse trading enters a new phase. The people deserve better but I wonder if that is ever going to be attainable. Having said that just look at some other administrations around the world ..... sound familiar?- 43 replies

My colleague's aunt, just got Covid. It scared the c**p out of the family members for about a day. Non of them are vaccinated. They got tested and were all clear. The aunt is currently in a very very bad way on a ventilator in some Gov't hospital. It doesn't seem to have dissuaded any of them. They are all sitting around doing sweet fanny adams and drinking at 11am in the morning and socialising as if they dodged a bullet. No masks, no a care in the world. Half of them overweight and diabetic. You can't fix stupid.
