If he is coming without a visa (30-day visa exemption) he first needs to apply for a Non O visa at Immigration. In Pattaya, I think he will need a long term rental or his own condo prior to the application.

The application is made using form TM87, proof of his long term accommodation, the TM30 notification receipt (foreigner staying in the property) and financial proof (his bank in Pattaya should understand what this needs to be). If the funds have not been in the bank for a few months already, Immigration will probably want to see proof that the money came from abroad. The application is taken under consideration, with a report back date probably two to three weeks later to receive an initial 90-day stay. Note that the visa application must be done with at least 15 days remaining on his current permission to stay. He can extend his 30-day visa exempt entry by a further 30 days if necessary before submitting the application for the Non O visa.

During the final 30 days of the 90-day entry for the visa, he applies for a one-year extension of his permission to stay, based on retirement. This is done using form TM7 and otherwise much the same documents as for the Non O visa application.

Thanks very much Tim. Very informative. Bank is already open, nearly 2 years already. The rest should be no problem.

Right, you do realize you’re on a thread saying precisely the opposite ????????one of very many in fact ….????

One of very many??? I see only the OP saying the opposite. And as DrJack54 said, maybe he made a mistake or is using the old app. I have done it 3 times now. It takes about 1 minute to complete. And is usually approved in a day or so. Why is that difficult?

  3. My son also went there for 6 years. He was very happy there, and it seemed very well run.

He was in the Thai school, not the international. He had been to 3 different schools in Bkk before, International and bi-lingual. He was happiest here at Satit. Acceptable prices too.

He also had no problems getting into university after he finished.

Today is Sunday, so I will try tomorrow.

If Royal Gardens is no longer doing vaccinations, where is another place that has vaccines available?

I had my booster last Saturday at Jittaphawan Temple. Walk in. Choice of Moderna or Pfizer.

I think it is open until the end of April. Very quick and efficient. Just take your passport and either vaccine certificate or show Mor Phrom.

  5. A friend of mine from the US came and tested positive.

He has 2 Pfizer's and a booster in the US.  Negative test on the flight out.

He demanded to get another test and was told by the doctor,

sure he can have as many as he pays for. He can have 10, they can

all be negative. BUT, the first one was positive and that's the one that counts.

Wasted 7 days of his holiday, wasn't happy.

There are reports that walking st and soi 6 bars will not have liquer licence renewed this year and that does fit in with this governments anti alcohol and anti sleaze agenda

Also heard from my ex, who owns a bar on Soi Made in Thailand that the owner is selling the land. All bar owners have been told to empty the bars.
