i too am needing to travel this weekend and do not have my passport with my, it is currently with another countries embassy getting stamped for a visa. my thai license is out of validity so not sure if that would work, but do have a second passport that I could use, but there is no immigration stamp in it as i entered using the one that has been sent away, does anyone know if this second passport would suffice?

สารส้ม "saan som" buy it from a market, dirt cheap and exactly the same product, just comes as the crystal and lasts years, still on my first one I started using 4 years ago. works wonders. needs a bit of smoothing out when you first buy it, just run it under a tap and rub, or just start using it and it will soon smooth out the edges and you end up with a nice contoured crystal.

We can all agree, the current stock standard crossings (usually paint faded and barely discernable) are universally ignored.

agree they are ignored, although doesnt matter if they are bright, brand spanking new, they will still be universally ignored.

ignored not through the lack of desire to pay attention to them but through ignorance and lack of education. how many people actually sit a proper test and even know what road signage actually means?

the pedestrian crossings that they have with a push button and lighting system for BOTH pedestrians and road users that tell the people when to cross (and when the cars NOT to pass through) dont even get adhered to, what chance does a stripy pony on the tarmac gonna have?!

If TV would label is as Chinese Call Center gang, I wouldn't even want to read it. A lot of German, Swedish and other Europeans are currently recruited to move to Chiang Mai to work in those call centers.

did a visa run the other day up at Mae Sai and bought a big bag of walnuts. do not really fancy making the long trip up there just yet again, need to wait another 30 days, anyone know of anywhere in chiang mai sells big bags of walnuts?

My wife had the same problem a few months ago and went to a local phone shop. The guys there activated a software Home button on screen for her and she thinks that they just selected an option from the Settings menu but possibly it was downloaded from the Apple store. It was done for free so maybe check out some of the phone shops in your area rather than getting a hardware fix.
