  1. Blimey, it's been too long since i checked the Krabi Forum - seems like a fair bit of mud slinging has been going off!

I feel a little scared to post an opinion on this.

Screw it, Nontabury - fancy a BK? I'm buying...

you couldn't afford my habit.... but am willing to give you a shot!

    count me in!

  2. I heard about the death of a Swiss woman found on Ao Nang beach from 2 friends recently and just found this report:

    http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/viewtopic.php?p=167979

    Anyone got more info?

Another example of the dangers of Ao Nang & Krabi or an unfortunate accident?

sadly i think that you find this is a bit old now, and has gone from murder to suicide.

another case of another miraculous case of taking ones own life over here in the LOS in yet another fashion.... just do a search of this site to see..

it reminds me of the report i read about an african american who died in one of the southern states of that there place called "america". he was found hung drawn and quartered, stabbed 12 times, and strung up by his ankles from the nearest tree... the sheriff put it down to the worse case of suicide they had ever seen...

    welcome to thailand....

    my condolences RIP

let me just add that my post is not made to be be taken insincerely, my heart felt condolences go out to the family, its just that there seems to be a more to this than meets the eye and the eyes of others like this that seem to occur more often than not.

  3. Monsoon restaurant in Ao Nang.

Great salads, soups and sandwiches, my favourite place last season. Also has some daily specials.

Oh My God... the Caesar salad @ Monsoon is to DIE FOR or so i am told.

apart from that, burger king serves late and does a great meat, salad and salsa sandwich 'combo' called a B-U-R-G-E-R. these guys do a take away or eat in... regular customers get a 10% discount card, i have 3 spare, PM for details!

mere joking aside, if you cant find good thai food then give up looking, cos you are a blind tw@, as for western, A1 and the irish rover are a starter for 10...

BTW... i ate all the pies...

  5. Not that I have any intention of marrying anyone :D , but given a choice between a Thai or Burmese (Shan or Tai Yai) the later would win hands down.

Comparing Tai Yai and Thai friends, the Tai Yai are generally much nicer people. Warm, open, genuine, more fun and largely without hidden agendas. Most are also very hard working. Whereas the Thais tend to be much more aloof, devious, xenophobic and mired in hidden agendas, those without some Chinese blood line are also down right lazy :) .

One thing that pisses me off here is how many Thais treat the Tai Yai's as some lower life form. And the reputation the Tai Yai have for being marauding heathen (which I concede is sometimes deserved) stems from behaviour largely inspired by their treatment in Thailand. Though past history where roles may have been reversed somehow never seems to get forgotten :D .

    Mai Soong Mai Soong

    bigot!

  6. Hi

I was wondering if there is any opportunity for a farang for work in web design in chiang mai? I have about 5 years experience and can make shopping carts and web sites for hotels and so no and so forth. I am here on holiday at the moment but am thinking of becoming an "expat"! How much could i earn around $2000 per month?

I was thinking of advertising in the bangkok post.

    Thanks

had a few friends here tried the same, thai and falang

working for a company here, dont expect to make any more than around 25-30K THB, (and thats good), students now come out of the womb making shopping carts/flash blah blah blah in their sleep and do it for astoundingly low dosh. better money in bkk of course

go it alone, set up a company, put the man hours in getting the business and sure, the sky is the limit, reap what you sow. but then you might not have much of a social life for a few years... and some,

edit - as D-Aitch says, all depends where you clients are as to how much you can charge them!

  7. Don't act so innocent anyway, who do you think you are fooling?

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Chiang-Mai-s...-T-t240645.html

you obviously could not see the tongue in my cheek for that one :o

you pro-paraders are obviously forgetting about freedom of speech and the freedom for people to have differing opinions, and just because someone else opinions differ from yours , you call them bigots. does that fit this definition?

bigot - a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own

  8. and as another poster mentioned, if heteros were to organise an event purely for heteros then they would be seen as being offensive and prejudice.. so what the difference when a gay parade is held.

Go ahead and have your rally, see if we care. I am sure if you organized it, it would be offensive, you can't seem to help it. It sounds like you want to do an anti-gay event. A gay event is not anti-straight, it is simply pro-gay. You don't seem able to grasp the difference. As most people are hetero, most any public festival is already a hetero dominated event. Not enough for you? Greedy, are you?

my god, do you not read posts? i am not anti gay! i am anti gay parades!

its you that cant seem to grasp this concept.. i dont want to do a hetero parade, i never have done, dont you get it?!

why do people insist on pushing their beliefs on the masses??

  9. If gays want to be acccepted they would be better mixing with others rather than organising events purely for their own glorification...

exactly, gays are segregating themselves with their own actions.

and as another poster mentioned, if heteros were to organise an event purely for heteros then they would be seen as being offensive and prejudice.. so what the difference when a gay parade is held.

lets have a white and proud rally shall we?! hmmm dont think that would go down to well either. am i bigoted? no i just have an opinion, just like everyone else, but i dont go marching down the street having parades.

HIV awareness, ok, gay and proud? our survey says.. uh uuuh.. feud2.jpg

do what you wanna do, but why shout about it?

  10. I have a question for all those who don't see a need for a gay parade: do you also not believe there is no need to try and prevent the spread of HIV and the loss of young Thai lives that results from it?

i think that there is a need for doing so, and a worthy cause, so why not have a parade to make people aware of HIV, rather than a gay parade? or are you saying that gays are the main cause of spreading HIV??

  11. Nothing against gays, they make the same contributions to society as everyone else.

But why the need for a parade?

Most everyone knows their own sexuality - can't it just be left at that?

110% agree with this, why do gays need to have parades? are you trying to advertise that you like a bit of bum fun or something?

we dont have heterosexual parades, is it some sort of recruiting mission?

people can be who they want to be, but this just doesnt make any sense.

  12. Geo W Bush has left the world (not just the US) a legacy and a half.

and left himself a nice little bank balance to boot... if he was a Thai PM there would have been a coup and he would currently be in ... well whereever he is now!

If every one learned the basics "you can't spend money you haven't got" we wouldn't be in the shyt that we are in at present.

once again, how very VERY true.. credit nation is over, and thank god it is, live within your means, its that simple.

as for the rates, i am assuming GBP to THB, going back to what they were before this, i wouldnt be too sure with that one either.

  13. You ever heard of Jim Jones :o:D

what has he got to do with this? from what i understand it as, this guy just wants to dip his wick into some things and feels the need for some justification in doing. the justification seeking from anyone on this or ANY forum is absurd. i dont see the need to seek it from anyone, why make waves?

but then thats just my thoughts.
