  1. Why does Nissan Leaf (Electric car) have a starting price of 1.900.000 Baths in Thailand, when starting price in Europe is 1.100.000 Bahts. Does Nissan i Thailand by the way live up to European standard?  (European price mentioned are from Sweden and Denmark)

  2. This morning aqi 172

    yesterday 160

    the day before 156

When can we expect clean air in Hua Hin?

Yes, we are out to the sea but the wind blow from the other side and Hua Hin seems to be one of the most polluted areas in Thailand. Us with lung disease we have a problem here.

Not just masks for the virus. Masks for the air. Hua Hin has joined the ranks of the most polluted cities in Thailand, with many days well over 50-100 PM 2.5, and often 125-200 AQI. The air there is horrrendously bad.

This thing is going to hit Thailand hard, and it is going to hurt coming after 6 years of major sabotage to the tourism industry, on the part of the administration, a hapless PM, and a dumb as you can get army led administration and TAT.

I agree, Hua Hin’s big problem is the air pollution from all the burning, the last few months we have been lucky if we had a few days below 100 often it is about 150 aqi which is extremely unhealthy

  4. Mr Bensley is absolutely right. Thailand has to protect is beautiful nature, it has to fight climate change, fight plastic and other garbage in the rivers and, sorry to say, on the road sides too. Thailand has to stop farmers and others from burning so people living here can breathe clean air.

Today almost anyone has an app there can tell air quality, do you honestly think tourist will return to aqi 150 or above? It is hazzard air to breathe.

My Thai son, in Chiang Mai, added a verandah right around his new house about 7 years back, using bluescope with the insulation already fitted under the sheets.

There has never been a leak (dependant of course of profesional installation), compared to uninsulated steel verandah roofing the noise reduction is amazing, the best example is noise from rain, with bluescope with the insulation there is very little noise, the insulation is still in perfect condition and hasn't detached at all from the steel sheets and hasn't degraded.  The colour on the steel sheets hasn't degraded at all.

The builder told my son he very much prefers to work with the bluescope products, he mentioned that the sheets etc., are easy to handle, easy to understand handouts are easily available, plus the few times he had called bluescope one of their friendly engineers was on site within an hour or less and gave very practcal advice and worked as a team with the construction crew for an hour or so, no charge.

    Son more than happy.

    Thank you Scorecard

If you are on the grid (which means the energy your solar cell produce makes the meter run backward during daytime and you use from the meter during nighttime)  No needs for expensive batteries.

Solar power will lose 20 % when converted to AC, which is the power you normally use.

10  Solar Panel  a  340 watt. =  3400 watts per hour with full sun     (1 day (6 full sun hours) will produce about 20.400 watt    (24000/20% =   apprx. 17.000 Watt,   AC)  or 17 kgw.  X 30 days  =  510 kgw in one month,  one year 6.120 kgw.

Expect power from solar cell in rainy season to drop from 100 % to apprx. 30 %.

    10 solar panels  a 340 w.    each  6.000              60.000

    Inverter  1 phase  (5.000W)                                 44.000

    Charge  controller                                              4.000

    Pay for installation apprx.                                 40.000

                                                              All        148,000   B.

One solar panel weight 20 kg   x 10  panels  200 kg.

    Panel  measure:   1,70 meter x  1 meter              (1.656  x  0.77)

Good Luck with your green foot print

Well, hard to beat the deniers brigade they just keep on posting

But it doesn’t change the facts and I believe Australia is waking up now.

Statistics need to be qualified to have any meaning. Hua Hin is a small town, and I suspect readings are taken at maybe 1 or 2 stations located in the town centre, possibly close to the 2 central main traffic junctions. I live in Hua Hin at the weekends, 3 k due west of the Airport before the hills. I can't wait to step out of the car coming from Bangkok, and to breath the clear, fresh, scented air around my neighbourhood. Indeed, recently I've noticed on several occasions being able to see far more stars at night than I've ever seen before.

If you use "AirVisuel" you can see the readings are taken at 4 different places. They may vary a little but when it is bad, the all are up about 150 or above. My guess is burning

I can see the air pollution in Cha-am within 200 meters or so nowadays

back last week there were fires around hua hin and Phetchaburi so we get the fallout from that

otherwise it's the lack of rain mostly.

Have you noticed that pollution not only in Cha Am but also in Hua Hin goes up during the night.
I don't know if it's because they burn waste around night or it's from factories, but it's very unhealthy to breathe.

How do you explain the various heating and cooling  periods of the planet before man existed?

Many scientists believe the research that shows the level of CO2 is a function of temperature rise, not the cause of it. But it is inconvenient for the zealots and tax grabbing politicians to listen to them.

As I've written here before; Past climate change has happened over thousands of years, nature had time to adapt, this time it happens within a few generations.
Read a little about climate change before you start writing fiction like this; "Many scientists believe the research that shows the level of CO2 is a function of temperature rise, not the cause of it."  This is pure nonsens.

I was not aware the we did have had reliable satelite back in 1885 until about the 1969 period.

    ????

No, there was no satellite back then, but there's a reason for this reference point. And no, it's not because the temperature was the same 137 years ago; actually quite the opposite! Here's what's going on: Scientists mark the start of modern global record-keeping at roughly 137 years ago, in 1880.

The OP stated that Thailand is/was fighting climate change. So Thailand is doing what the OP is a proponent of. So, as an entity, why is Thailand in the wrong?

Facts; not empathies, feelings and unactual suppositions are what should drive policies.

I mostly note that the levels of pollution in China invoke zero adverse comments. Wonder why?

    We don't live in China

Could you please tell me which scientist there believe that because as far as I know, this is exactly the propaganda oil companies sends out.  But it can be reality when sea water gets too warm and release the stored CO2  then we will really be in trouble
