I'm more worried about them letting americans in. Them, the Swedes and the Brazilians. But ESPECIALLY the problem americans. I wouldn't mind the Russians for now.

Agree, Americans incl. Brazilians are high risk.  I am not sure about Sweden, as far as I know Sweden count all corona cases and deaths unlike many other countries that count only the serious cases and only count death from that list.

  2. In my opinion, open up for tourist before there is vaccine and tourist can prove they have been vaccinated, would be open up for incoming Corona virus.  A card there prove they had a test not more than 6 days ago is worthless, they might not have it then, but can still be infected and develop it up to 2 weeks later.

The wearing of masks means that asymptomatic/presymptomatic people aren't breathing out virus on others - which is the main reason this virus has spread so much more widely than 2002 SARS which was only contagious if you were showing symptoms.

The virus probably doesn't cope well outside in Thailand (because of the combination of heat and humidity - and UV from the sun), so if people aren't going into air-conditioned offices / shopping malls and aren't travelling together without masks in buses or the BTS or metro in Bangkok, and aren't eating in indoor restaurants or going to boxing matches indoors, where exactly is the mass spread that would raise the numbers going to happen?

You can hide (or miss) infected people by not doing mass testing. But you can't hide a large increase in dead bodies - so something is working here that isn't working in Europe or the USA.

Mask are working here, most people outside Asia don't believe in mask

Regardless of what nation you are from, you are free to have your opinion on Trump. That is obvious. Just don't confuse that with Americans giving a damn what you think. In fact, that is part of the reason the US elected Trump.

And in reality, we LOVE that you don't like Trump. Trump has put moocher NATO nations to pay their fair share. Many people in the US have been tired of the same old politicians like Joe Biden bending over and letting the US get taken advantage of. When people from inferior nations are happy with a US president, it is quite often because he's bent the nation over with nonsense like worrying about if other countries are OK with how much energy we use and other silliness like "leading from behind".

In fact, if Hillary Clinton weren't the poster girl for selling out America at every possible opportunity, she likely would have defeated Donald Trump.

Now let's turn the table on your thinking. I don't know what country you're from, nor do I care. But I'll use UK as an example. I prefer Boris over the other clown. But I would never inject myself further into UK's politics because it doesn't matter and it's none of my business.

But believe me, I understand that the US being at the top of the totem pole means criticism from lesser entities. Simple fact.

I don’t hate Trump he makes us laugh

I will buy more fruit in the MAkro if i don't have to be in a long queue to get it priced...they should learn to price products automatically so we don't have to wait long for it.

You are absolutely correct, wake up Macro do like they do in other countries. People themselves weigh it and press the bottom for whatever it is, and the price come out.

    No need for a queue.

So  how  come Singapore is  doing so well without masks  then....................more to do with testing and complying to social distancing and probably faith in their govt a s opposed to others

Singapore is a small country with 5,6 million people and they have a total of 1000 confirmed cases. Many people wear face mask in Singapore and they have a tracing system, helping them to find infected people.

And by the way, how come face mask work on doctors and nurses, and government around the world are talking about how important it is that they have enough mask for the medical people.

  7. Asia may have been right about coronavirus and face masks, and the rest of the world is coming around

    Analysis by James Griffiths, CNN

Hong Kong (CNN)In the coming weeks, if they have not already, your government is likely to begin advising you to wear a face mask to protect against coronavirus.

For those living in Asia, such announcements will be a vindication of a tactic that has been adopted across much of the region since the beginning of the crisis and appears to have been borne out by lower rates of infection and faster containment of outbreaks.

In other parts of the world, this message may be confusing, coming after weeks of public health authorities, politicians and media figures confidently claiming masks do not help and urging people instead to focus on washing their hands and maintaining social distancing.

The tone of such claims ranged from condescending to frustrated, with the US Surgeon General Jerome Adams tweeting in late February -- in all caps -- "STOP BUYING MASKS!"

"They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can't get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk," he added, in a post that has since been retweeted over 43,000 times.

That same week, Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), appeared before lawmakers. Asked if people should wear masks, he had a straightforward answer: "No."

Now he's not so sure. On Monday, Redfield said told NPR that the CDC was reviewing its guidelines and may recommend general mask use to guard against community infection. It's likely only a matter of time before other mask holdouts, most prominently the World Health Organization (WHO), follow suit.
